Chapter 205: Undead Knight of the Order of Kruger
The angel’s gate slid open to reveal a long, pristine hallway.
Kaelen double-checked to see he wasn’t live before stepping out onto the red rug.
When he looked back, the elevator had disappeared as expected, replaced with a large double door.
He looked back down the path of the hallway, which seemed to go on forever, before deciding to take that path.
Along the hallways were several knight stands clutching weapons. But they didn’t move an inch or show any signs of life.
From the perspective of any other person, they were merely dummies. But Kaelen wasn’t convinced. There were simply too many of them lining the hallways for as far as his eyes could see, making it hard to believe they didn’t pose any danger.
He activated his Heaven’s Window eye.
—
[Undead Knight of the Order of Kruger | Tier 70]
A knight who remained behind to defend the falling empire of Kruger and has been reborn through vengeance to protect the castle of their leader even in death.
Skills: (2)
[Last Stand]: The Knight negates 100% of damage received for as long as they remain stationary and receives +50% of damage done by the enemy on their next attack. If caught moving, the skill is cancelled for 5 seconds, and the knight receives an extra 50% damage.
[Swift Feet]: +120% movement speed and cancels all noises from moving on the feet.

Kaelen was stunned after reading the description, only to lift his head and see the stationary knights before him with their weapons raised. He didn’t even catch them moving or freezing in place. It was almost as if they’d always been there like that.
He blinked once and realized they’d moved an inch in that split second.
"Couldn’t be any more descriptive," he mumbled to himself as he took several steps backwards until his back hit the double door. He didn’t dare take his eyes off the undead knights and knew better than anyone that attacking them in this state would do absolutely nothing but increase their attack by 59% of the intended damage.
"This Tower is really something else."
This floor made it impossible to even dare enter solo. That would be a suicide mission. The floor required a full party who’d always keep their eyes 360 degrees around them as they advanced further into the dungeon.
A mistake by even one person could jeopardize the formation if an undead knight got to them, and in order to defend themselves, they’d have to take their eyes off the rest, who’d swarm them the next moment.
Kaelen almost chuckled in amusement. He was curious to see how the other party would go about the floor, especially Emir, who was likely to be the next to clear it right after he did. He was lucky to have made that deal with his Herald and do this discreetly; otherwise, he might’ve risked giving other parties the opportunity to plan ahead of him.
The third-floor challenge would be difficult for parties who had smaller numbers on their team, like Lysandra’s current party. It would be especially impossible for any solo candidate, except Kaelen, of course.
If the key was to keep an eye on all the undead knights in order to advance, Kaelen doubted they’d be moving a muscle the entire time, with over ten thousand of his own shadow summons watching them like hawks.
"Rise."
A shadow curtain spread across the hallway as several shadow figures began emerging from it, outnumbering the undead knights in the hallway.
Without a formal instruction, the shadow summons already knew who the enemies were and kept their eyes on them, giving Kaelen the freedom to blink as much as he needed and move around safely without a single worry.
Except Kaelen didn’t plan on just keeping his eyes open and advancing.
Though he didn’t plan on clearing the floor, he had to strategize and map out the best plan to execute the next time he returned.
That was when an idea struck his mind.
"SKD, do you think you can fight an army with your eyes closed?" he asked.
"Certainly, Milord. It won’t make a difference," SKD replied from beside him.
Kaelen expected that much but was surprised by the confidence in the dragon’s voice. "And do you think you can take care of them all alone?"
"It depends on the scale, my lord. In this form, it may be difficult. But if I could transform, I could burn down everything in this hallway in a second."
Kaelen’s eyes widened at hearing that because another idea suddenly struck him at that moment. "Do you think others could do that much if they could transform?" he asked sharply.
SKD paused to run his eyes across the dragon summons in the bunch. "Affirmative."
’That’s it,’ Kaelen mused to himself.
"Very well, then," he said, holding back a smile. "It’s going to be a long night, so pair the summons to surround each undead knight. When the formation is secured, each group should take turns closing their eyes at once and throwing everything they’ve got into the undead knight in the center."
SKD looked confused for a moment. "Understood. But may I ask why you didn’t choose the transformation plan?"
Kaelen didn’t reply immediately. "That’d be too easy. I’d like to reserve it for the main event. Also..." He paused for a moment. "I have something going on," he said and tilted his head to look at the supreme elder dragon.
"I’m only here for one reason. So until I’m finished, we’ll be doing everything the hard way, SKD."
"Understood, Milord." SKD nodded in understanding and turned to pass on the command.
The shadow army immediately entered formation, and as planned, each group took turns going blind for a moment to barrage the undead knight in the middle with everything in their arsenal.
Even Kaelen wasn’t allowed to look, or it’d be futile, so he took a stroll forward, moving down the hallway as the sounds of battle died down as soon as they began behind him, and a kill notification flashed across his vision each time.
He left the hallway and arrived before another, which he promptly swung open.
It looked like a ballroom filled with soldiers who appeared to be celebrating, with a bouquet set out on the table. Except every single one of them was frozen in place, as if caught in a time pause.
Kaelen blinked once, and their positions changed. He blinked twice, and they were reaching for their weapons. He blinked several times, and, like a picture clip, they kept approaching him until Kaelen stopped blinking just as they were all before him with their weapons raised.
He smiled in amusement and began closing the heavy doors, but before they were fully closed, he saw something that made him freeze in place like an undead knight.
What he saw wasn’t in the ballroom. It was in a completely different place, inside a dark room where a blonde girl lay motionless on the floor, and pressed against the window from outside was the face of a cute chibi avatar with a wicked grin.
"I told you I’d be watching. Didn’t I... Kaelen Cross?" Kelsey said as her brows bobbed up and down.
