Evolution Online: My 10,000× Reward System Multiplies Everything
Chapter 197: I’m going to create the Strongest System!
Kaelen stared at the woman without a word, making her more embarrassed by her choice of words, before she picked herself up from the floor, made a deep bow that made her short dark hair spill over her shoulder, and left, closing the door behind her.
Who could possibly be playing ding-dong ditch on the first night of entering the Tower of Babel, where they’d just watched one of their teammates almost die on a floor?
And where the hell was he supposed to get a glass of water when there was neither a water source nor even a wooden cup lying around anywhere in the lobby?
Kaelen sighed inwardly.
It was only normal for someone to hear the commotion from next door, and hearing what sounded like the voices of more than one Herald and that of the Herald Executioner was something worth checking out. Kaelen couldn’t blame her because he would’ve done the same.
He also didn’t care what she might’ve heard. Nothing crucial had been said about him except when Kelsey exposed his ability to upgrade everything. But even she didn’t know the extent of the upgrade or how it worked. So he was in the clear.
He shifted his attention back to the earlier conversation.
A lot had been learned about Kelsey, and for some reason, her backstory sounded similar to that of Emir, except Kelsey seemed to be a patriot for the universe and, unlike Emir, didn’t care about sacrificing everyone for her ideals.
And what was that about reclaiming the universe’s independence?
If it were before, Kaelen might’ve found it hard to believe. But he had literally just learned from the red team leader on the false second floor that there was more than one universe, governed by different creators.
If Kelsey had been a general who achieved this on a mountain of her subordinates’ corpses, Kaelen didn’t understand why she was imprisoned.
He clearly understood what they meant by war crimes, but he fought so hard to hold himself back when his Herald had mentioned the loss of innocent lives.
Was that some kind of joke?
Innocent people died every day. Worlds were destroyed, and planets were enslaved. All this was happening not in war, but under the regime of the so-called Creator and Evolution Online.
She let all this happen. The big families let all this happen and were actively involved in the Global Descent, meant to unite all smaller worlds across the universe into active war zones. And they judged someone for taking innocent lives and making races go extinct?
It wasn’t really hard to understand. Their perception of innocent lives probably referred to the universe’s strongest warriors, whose deaths stung them. They wouldn’t care less if it were a bunch of cannon fodder from a third-rate world. They wouldn’t care less if a third-rate world were destroyed simply because it didn’t affect their agenda.
A bunch of hypocrites. All of them.
It was understandable that Emir tried to destroy it all. And the only reason the Creator rose up against her wasn’t because she killed 20% of the universe. It was because she threatened to destroy what they had built on corruption that ran deep in their veins.
Kaelen didn’t know what had happened before independence, but the one thing he knew was that this universe was no different from whoever had enslaved them in the past.
Kelsey’s words resurfaced in his mind at that moment. It was her deduction about the Atreus bloodline.
She was smart to lay the pieces together and suspect Kaelen had the Atreus bloodline ability. She was the second person to suspect that now, and Kaelen had just confirmed it was, in fact, true.
[Atreus Vessel]:
The founding authority inherited by the descendants of Atreus. A bloodline ability whose origins predate the established laws of existence.
Those who possess this authority may transcend the limitations imposed by the laws of existence, creating and altering the very foundations upon which abilities and bloodlines are built.
The Atreus bloodline does not merely inherit power—it inherits the authority to define what power can become.
If Kaelen could remember correctly, that was what he had seen with Heaven’s Window. The description was self-explanatory but vague at the same time.
A founding authority inherited by the descendants of Atreus. Kaelen wanted to believe Atreus was the ancestor of the Atreus bloodline.
It said that those who possessed this authority could transcend the limitations imposed by the laws of existence, creating and altering the very foundations upon which abilities and bloodlines were built.
What Kaelen understood from that was that the boundaries upon which the system was created were literally nonexistent. Just like his mother had created the 10,000× Reward Multiplier, another might be able to create a 1,000,000,000× Multiplier System.
The question now remained: what were the qualifications to create the strongest system?
If he remembered correctly, his mother had mentioned needing a treasured item from Akkad to perfect the Reward System. That could only mean there were ingredients and items needed in its creation, and possibly, the more powerful these items were, the stronger the system turned out to be.
"The Atreus bloodline does not merely inherit power—it inherits the authority to define what power can become."
Again, there were no limitations to the Atreus bloodline. If you got it right, you could create the strongest system in the universe, and even that wouldn’t be the limit of it. Then again, though the description went on and on about how powerful the Atreus bloodline was, it never explained how it could be used.
If Kaelen possessed the bloodline ability, then how could he use it? How could he create a system? It felt like the bloodline within him was dormant, which explained why it wasn’t displayed on his old system’s list of abilities and could only be seen by the Tower when selecting an ability.
Kelsey had specifically mentioned something about being the true inheritor of the original Atreus bloodline, which Kaelen couldn’t understand.
Why was there an original and a diluted bloodline?
Why was his bloodline ability dormant?
Most importantly, what needed to be done to awaken his bloodline?
Kaelen felt like he had all the puzzle pieces lying right in front of him, and all he needed to do was piece them together.
He was going to do just that.
He was going to awaken the Atreus bloodline ability.
He was going to create the strongest system.
