A fat man of around 26 or 27 was holding a large spoon as he stood next to a pot. When a survivor approached with their bowl or any other receptacle, the fat man would take the contents inside the pot and casually throw them into the receptacle in the hands of the survivor before moving on to the next one.

Victor moved a little closer and saw the contents inside the pot.

To say that what was inside the pot was gruel would be disrespectful to gruel. Basically, there was nothing but white water in there. It would be more correct to say that instead of gruel, the contents inside the pots were actually a heap of rice soup where water dominated 99%.

"This is what people eat here? Isn’t that just water?" Rina could not stop her voice from escaping her lips.

"If you don’t like it, bitch, then don’t. I doubt even if you whored yourself out to every man, you would still not get anything better than this," the server seemed to have heard Rina’s words and said with a sneer. Instantly, Rina’s face twitched with anger while Amber’s face showed murderous intent. No one had ever insulted Rina like this.

Rina did not say anything as she took a deep breath to calm down her anger and stepped back, but she caught Victor’s finger covered with a white armor as a mist of venom entered the server’s nose through the air, which would cause him to die painfully in a day or two. Seeing this, Rina’s lips curled up.

"Let’s go," Rina said, grabbing Victor’s hand and dragging him with her. The others looked at each other and followed them.

As they walked, they arrived at what seemed to be a market.

As they moved on and away from the outer mist part, the citizens’ complexions gradually improved. However, they all still looked hungry, and some were so weak that they could not even move properly. There were also several other gathering points where food was being distributed.

"This is the Market Street," Watson indicated as he pointed ahead. "This is where citizens gather to sell their belongings, things that are of no use to them, or simply out of necessity."

Victor looked around curiously. There were many stores of all kinds with a variety of items for sale. The better stores had a few tables set up, while in other cases, it was just a large sheet lying on the floor with the items for sale lying on it.

Now, someone might say it is impossible for anyone to go hungry because just killing a monster can drop food and gold, but the drop rate even for these is low, and most people who require them are very weak, and there is a chance they will die if they engage in a fight with monsters. This is the reason most of them are cowards and would rather live their lives at the bottom of society. Not everyone has the courage to fight. Even in the Silvernum Territory, there is a huge part of the population who does not fight, and it is the nobles’ job to provide the citizens with other non-combat jobs, which Victor provides. But in the Spark Duchy, this is not the case; if you can’t fight, you are useless and will be discarded.

"How much longer until we reach the place?" Victor looked at Grace and Watson and asked in a neutral voice.

"It’s not far away, just after the market," Watson said as they stepped into a completely different and adult section of the market.

"Handsome, do you want to play with me? Just a pack of instant noodles, and I’ll let you have fun for a whole night!"

"Young man, how would you like to have some fun with a mature and experienced woman? Two packs of rice only..."

"Little brother..."

On the way, Victor’s group passed by a place where there were many women in revealing clothes who tried to approach him while jiggling their flexible waists. Many of them could be considered beauties, even if they were not on the same level as Amber, Rina, and Amanda.

These women could not care less if there were already some women alongside the man. From their point of view, any man was a potential customer, and they were willing to provide their services just to stop their stomachs from growling. Looking at the women beside Victor, they showed looks of disdain, as they considered themselves much more beautiful and developed. They were confident they could easily seduce him, and they could judge from Victor and the girls, who were not malnourished like most citizens, that he could provide for the women and himself. This kind of man was a potential customer.

Of course, Victor ignored them all and simply continued moving towards his destination.

Grace’s expression was casual. She used to disdain such acts, but after being pushed into a corner, she finally understood that many times, people were forced to do things they were unwilling to do because of their circumstances.

Amber, Rina, and Amanda had complex looks on their faces as they watched all this. Some of the women appeared extremely young, which made the situation even more disturbing.

10 minutes later

"This is the place," Watson said after he stopped walking and arrived at a desolate location in the Spark Duchy. This was where the criminals were captured and held.

"I see," Victor mumbled as he noticed hundreds of Spark Duchy guards patrolling the place. All of them were fierce and savage soldiers, and attacking this base was out of the question for everyone except Victor and perhaps Amber and Rina.

The only thing visible was a large steel door buried into the mountain. On top of the mountains were cannons with nozzles over 10 meters in diameter, each glowing with a faint blue light, with purple sparks occasionally crackling across their surfaces.

In the sky, a total of five airships, each about 100 meters long, hovered over the surroundings. Each gate had at least one airship serving as an eagle eye high in the clouds; enemies would be seen even before they could see the gate.

Of course, apart from the airships whose power was not small at all, there was also a group of armed forces carrying all kinds of weapons camping 1,000 meters from the gate.

"You are sure they are here?" Victor asked one more time, to which Grace replied, "Yes, we are. We can sense each other if we are close by, and I can sense that almost everyone was sent here."

"Fine, if that’s the case, I will attack directly," Victor said in a cold tone.

Suddenly, the pupils of a Tier 2 soldier contracted to the size of needles when he saw a silhouette appearing out of nowhere, standing right in front of the airship, and then a massive serpent made up of black lightning descended downwards.

"Shi—"

The soldiers on the ground and nearby were shocked, while those inside the city watched with eyes filled with horror as one of the serpents plummeted straight towards them.

Boom!!!

BOOOOOOOOM!!!

Broken skin mixed with hot blood and chunks of flesh flew everywhere, raining down from the sky and signaling the beginning of the end.

"E-Enemy attack!"

One of the surviving soldiers said in a stammering voice filled with fear. Hearing his words, the surviving soldiers with red eyes began launching all sorts of attacks at him.

Victor watched indifferently as the soldiers who had shouted earlier took a step forward and pulled the string of a large purple-colored bow, pointing it in his direction, before he looked down at the lsmall human army below.

"Die. All of you."

As his voice spread across the length and breadth of the battlefield, his words, charged with magic power and mana, vibrated within the bodies of the dozens of soldiers, causing many of them to feel their blood begin to unnaturally overheat.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

One after another, dozens of men began to explode per second, but in just a matter of blinks, those dozens became hundreds of men exploding one after another or at the same time, and in just an instant, the brown earth was stained with crimson blood.

Step. Step.

"You know that was stupid. You practically told them we are here," Amanda said with her arms crossed over her chest in an annoyed tone.

"I think it does not matter, as we are already here," Amber commented as the ice around her body retreated.

On the ground, the army of about 100 soldiers had disappeared, and blood now flowed like a great river, moving among the rocks with every shaking of the ground.

"Let’s go," Victor said as he stared at the iron gate, clenching his fist.

Bang!

"After you, my..." Victor punched the gate away and was about to gesture for the ladies to enter, but suddenly, he felt a little bit of something, and his pupils contracted to the size of needles as he ran inside.
