Chapter 284: Ch-284: Ship of Abyys
Amber also did the same and cleaned her mouth as if nothing had happened at all.
She turned her head towards Valerie and sighed as she saw they were looking at the auction, but if someone paid close attention, they would notice her ears were red and some clear liquid was below her seat, which had a strange scent.
"For the next item, I’m sure the reception will be different, especially for Guild Leaders!" the Auctioneer shouted as the next item was revealed, catching Victor’s attention as well. "Now we present the item that everyone has come here for: the dungeon that the Awkaners Association has recently discovered. That’s right—the unexplored S-rank dungeon!"
VIP Box
This box was more luxurious compared to the others. If the others were VVIP, then this box was VVVIP, and it made sense, as the three people inside the box sitting on the couch were the current head and heir of one of the top families, Ryan and Regal Roshfield.
"My dear son, are you sure you don’t want to buy anything?" Ryan asked in a casual tone.
"Hah, I came for the dungeon, and the items so far have not aroused my interest," Regal said nonchalantly, looking at the stage.
"You are right. If not for the dungeon, I would have bid for all the items. I can’t take the risk, as the other families would spare no effort to get the dungeon for their guild," Ryan Roshfield said with a sigh and looked at the stage.
Then their eyes fell on the host, who walked toward the next item.
"The next item on the list is a utility item. I am sure many of our guests will be interested in it," the host said with a smile.
Everyone focused their gazes on the host and watched as she retrieved a beautiful box and placed it on the display stand beside her.
She opened the box, revealing a glistening red ship inside that seemed like a toy for children. She brought out the ship, which rested on her palm.
"Miss, why did you bring out a toy?" someone at the bottom of the VIP booth shouted. Many others had similar questions, as it emitted no Magical Energy and seemed like an ordinary toy that children played with, which caused many to frown.
"Dear guests, this is certainly not a toy. You don’t expect me to bring a toy to such a prestigious auction, right?" The host said with a chuckle. The person who asked the question went beet red, and the others who had the same speculation also lowered their heads in embarrassment.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this is definitely not a toy but a unique item," the host said as she placed the miniature ship on the ground. Then she injected Magical Energy into it.
Woosh!
Many gasps of awe could be heard from the audience as they witnessed the small ship grow to the size of a real one, floating midair and emitting an overwhelming aura.
"This ship is a flying treasure, but for some reason, we cannot determine its rank. Not only can it travel on the sea, but it can also fly and travel underwater. This treasure can also shrink for easy carrying, and the only downside is that it requires, at the bare minimum, Uncommon-rank items to operate. You need to feed it these items, which vanish after use, allowing it to operate for about 10 to 20 minutes. The rarer the items you use, the longer you can use it, and you can feed the ship again to use it. The auction will start at 100 million dollars," the host said.
Many of those who were interested no longer paid attention.
"A pity. If it did not have such a requirement, I might have bought this," Ryan said, having lost interest as he shook his head. Items were very important for him and the guild.
"Yeah, only someone richer than us would buy this, which is impossible," Regal said with a snort.
The host sighed, as she herself was not confident about this one, and thought with a frown, ’As expected, no one is willing to buy it.’
Just when she was about to remove the treasure, a male voice reverberated, "100 million dollars."
Everyone’s eyes fell on the box from where the voice came.
"Oh, now I’m getting curious about who would have such guts," Ryan said with a raised eyebrow.
’This voice... why does it sound familiar?’ Regal thought, his eyebrows furrowed.
"1... 2... 3... sold!" The host’s voice echoed through the hall.
’He must be the one who sold the attack beads the manager mentioned,’ the host thought inwardly.
Back in the box—
"As expected of Faceless, you can even splurge Uncommon-rank equipment on a ship," Valerie said with a sigh, her eyes gleaming.
Victor did not respond; his eyes were fixed on the ship.
[Ship of ???]
[Rank: ????]
[Description: A ship that can travel on the sea, underwater, and in the sky. The ship can evolve if it is bound to a Bloodline and may even gain some attributes from that Bloodline.]
Victor’s eyes shrank to pinpricks when he saw the description. ’How in the world does this kind of treasure appear at an auction?’
Victor was bewildered, but inwardly excited as he had obtained such a prize at such a low price.
His eyebrows furrowed. Among his physiques, two were suitable. He thought first about the lightning ability and shook his head as he thought, ’Most likely, I will get a very fast ship. I don’t need it; I can transform into lightning.’
After thinking for some time, he linked one of his physiques, the King of Darkness and Souls Bloodline specifically, and immediately felt a connection as the red ship turned pitch black, with black mist surrounding it.
[Ship of Abyss]
[Rank: Mythic]
[Description: A ship that has been bound to the user of the King of Darkness and Souls Bloodline. It can not only travel through the sky, water, and underwater, but also traverse the cosmos and even move through shadows. "Holy," Victor said, reading the description of the improved ship with disbelieving eyes. While Victor was gawking at the ship, Amber looked at it.
’That seemed to have changed... what is that black mist?’ Amber narrowed her eyes when she saw the red ship turn pitch black, with an ominous black mist swirling around it.
Then their eyes turned back to the auction as one item after another was auctioned until only the final two were left.
"Guests, we have finally arrived at the main event of the auction, the Dungeon," she said and paused, seeing the agitated faces of the VIPs and the jealous looks of the common guests. She then added, "But we also have another item we will sell before the dungeon, and that item will be more interesting and expensive than the dungeon, so I hope you brought enough money."
Hearing this, everyone’s eyebrows rose with interest.
VIP Box
"That was Victor, wasn’t it?" Ruby crossed her arms and said as she recognized the voice, then waited for the host to explain.
"The starting bid for the next item will start from 2 billion dollars," the host said.
"What?!"
"No way!"
"Just what kind of treasure is she bringing out?" Ruby said with a frown.
"Beads?" Ruby furrowed her eyebrows when she saw her holding small beads, but her body trembled when she opened the lid.
"Wait... these—" Ruby’s pupils contracted to the size of needles as she leaned forward and recognized the beads. "These are attack beads."
"Yes, everyone, these are attack beads, and not only that, they contain Tier 3 attacks," the host said.
VIP Box
"What? Tier 3 attacks?" Ryan shot to his feet, and even Regal had the same reaction as they looked intently at the beads. The moment they heard this, they already abandoned any plans for the dungeon and wanted to get the beads at any cost, as they would be invincible with such a trump card. If it were not an auction, they would have jumped in and grabbed the beads.
"The bidding will begin now," the host announced, and everyone jumped in like hungry sharks that had smelled blood.
