Chapter 277: Ch-277: Meeting again

"Yes, finally, a thousand points," Rachel said with a smile as she closed the leaderboards.

"Indeed, I wonder what those four are up to. I can’t find their names even in the top 50. If this continues, you will top the leaderboards, Olivia," Andrew said, not seeing Victor or his teammates’ names on the leaderboards, and looked at Olivia with a smile. He knew she had challenged them before the dungeon trip.

He thought she would be happy with the result, but Olivia showed him a cold glare and said in an icy voice, "You jinx."

"Huh?" Andrew had several question marks appear above his head and then thought of something and opened the leaderboards before cursing, "You gotta be shitting me."

Andrew cursed. Even his noble upbringing could not stop him from swearing as he looked at the score.

<Score Leaderboards>1. Victor - 10,000 points

2. Amber - 6,000 points

3. Rina - 4,000 points

4. Olivia - 1,024 points....

"It’s not just him. Even Amber and Rina, the girls who tag along with him, have surpassed us," Andrew cursed, seeing the score.

"How in the heavens did he get such a high score in such a short time? Bullshit, I say bullshit!" Rachel’s face also had veins popping out as she stared at the glaring 10,000 points beside Victor. She was ecstatic that she might be able to claim the top 3 spot but did not expect it to get replaced so suddenly; it’s like you got a new present that someone snatched away before you could even see it.

Even Olivia’s neutral mask cracked as her eyebrows started to twitch in shock and irritation.

She then rubbed her temples and looked at her guildmates and said, "There is nothing we can do. Just accept it."

Boom!

Just as Andrew was about to retort, a pillar of blue flames shot straight into the sky, which was seen by a lot of students.

"What happened?" Rachel said with a frown.

"It seems Victor and the others are fighting nearby. Let’s go check," Olivia said curiously. She recognized the blue flame instantly, as they belonged to Victor, which she had seen in the database.

Gulp.

"This blue flame pillar... doesn’t it seem too strong for a Tier 1?" Rachel swallowed hard as she could feel the intense heat from here.

Hearing her words, both Andrew and Olivia frowned before Olivia said, "Well... maybe he has some equipment to boost his attack, a rare piece of equipment, I mean. Everyone has their secrets."

Rachel and Andrew nodded, as this was the most reasonable explanation. Then they started heading towards Victor’s direction.

At the side of the dungeon, Ruby was looking at her team members with a frown and shouted, "Hurry up, you people are too slow. I still need to keep killing more Magical Beasts if I want to keep my ranking in the top 10."

"Y-Yes," one of the team members said with a stutter as he cursed inwardly, ’Damn, just because you have a Warlock Bloodline and can keep fighting without getting tired doesn’t mean everyone is the same, and you’re treating us like servants.’

He could only curse in his head but did not voice his thoughts as he wore a stiff smile and complied. He knew if Ruby got displeased, he and his family would suffer a disaster, as members of top families were really petty and could destroy your life for even looking at them the wrong way.

Suddenly, Ruby casually checked the leaderboards, and her eyebrows twitched when she saw Victor’s score, but she was nonchalant when she went down the list and cursed.

"Damn, that bitch! How is her score higher than mine?" Ruby cursed as she stared at the screen while grinding her teeth.

Beep. Beep.

"Huh?" Lance, who was pacing anxiously after the mysterious disappearance of Victor, Amber, Rina, and Valerie, froze upon hearing the beeps.

"B-Boss, they are back! The detectors picked up the familiar signals!" one of the Awakeners near the large screen suddenly shouted. Only he knew how tired and exhausted he was from constantly searching for the missing students while the headmaster constantly kept breathing down their necks.

Lance did not say anything and hurriedly walked in front of the screen and saw live footage of Victor, Amber, Rina, and Valerie being displayed on the screen and sighed in relief. He felt as if a great mountain had been lifted off his shoulders. "Great, they are back."

Only he knew how stressed he was, as being the Headmaster, the responsibility fell on his shoulders if any student died, not to mention these extremely talented ones, for whom he had great hopes of becoming the pillars of humanity. He was the one who arranged the dungeon trial, and he would be left with guilt if anything happened to them. He had even considered canceling the field trip after they disappeared but held himself back.

"Make sure no one discovers this incident, and I am going to check on them," Lance said before vanishing from his place.

"Amber! I can see Olivia’s team in the distance! They’re approaching this place! Olivia and her team will arrive in a minute!"

"I understand. Thanks."

Amber was going to use more power than she normally showed on Earth.

Without needing to worry about being seen using her true power, Amber immediately began throwing Ice Spears at the spider, which was at Tier 3.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Amber threw Ice Spears after Ice Spears at the human-faced spider, further injuring it. The spider wanted to advance and attack Amber, but due to the barrage of Ice Spears, it could not come close, and if it tried to run, the spears would hit its back.

’She is toying with it.’ Valerie, who watched Amber, was speechless. Valerie knew she was much stronger than this.

About a minute later, Victor shouted, "Amber, stop dragging this out. You’ve had your fun! Olivia and her team will be here any moment!"

"Alright! Even though I wanted to torture it a bit more for spitting web on my face, I will be merciful and kill this pest."

"So petty, is that the reason?" Valerie was dumbfounded.

Amber overcharged his last Ice Spear as much as possible as it grew larger and threw it at the soldier-faced spider, who tried to dodge it.

BOOM!

When he saw this opportunity, Amber created an Ice Sword, tightened his grip on the sword, and jumped above the soldier.

And right as Amber raised her sword into the air, Olivia and her team arrived at the scene to witness the moment Amber swung her sword down.

"Haaaa!"

Amber released a loud war cry right before swinging down her sword, decapitating the spider’s thick neck in one swift movement.

As the trio slowly approached Victor and his group’s position, their faces had gone completely pale, and they had to grit their teeth to fight the urge to turn around and run away. Even Olivia felt uncomfortable and had the urge to throw up.

The entire place was covered by what appeared to be a dense red mist, and if it were not for constantly evolving through the incessant absorption of Magical Power, Olivia estimated that she probably wouldn’t be able to see more than a meter in front of her.

Her beautiful face and clothes now had small red moles on them; they were obviously tiny drops of blood that, after coming in contact with her body, immediately returned to a liquid state.

Their eyes swept across the field and saw the corpses of hundreds of human-faced spiders, which seemed to be littering the ground, making them even more repulsed, as if they were witnessing a scene from Lovecraftian horror.

Then their eyes moved toward Amber and the last giant spider, which had just been killed.

Dong!

The large head fell to the ground a second later, causing the ground to shake slightly.

"A-Am I seeing things, or did that woman just kill a Tier 3 monster...?" Andrew mumbled in a dazed voice, seeing how Amber had killed the soldier whose aura, even from afar, made him feel mortal danger, something his current self could not face.

"I don’t want to believe it, but the evidence is right before my eyes..." Rachel swallowed nervously.

"..." Olivia and the others silently stared at Amber’s figure with wide eyes.

"How did you kill a Tier 3?" Olivia was baffled, as she could not understand how Victor could kill a Tier 3.

"Oh, it was already injured," Amber said with a shrug, which made Olivia frown even more, as she did not believe her words one bit. But she could not say anything, as that was the only logical explanation. She did not entertain the thought that a Tier 1 could kill a Tier 3, no matter how strong he was.

’This woman is lying and hiding a major secret just like Victor.’ Olivia’s eyes narrowed as she looked at Amber intently, who seemed unbothered by her gaze.

Whoosh!

Suddenly, with a small gust, a figure appeared beside them, and they exclaimed,

"Headmaster Lance!"
