Chapter 266: Ch-266: Devil Invasion (03)
"This is the heart of a Primordial Devil" Mark said as he took the heart.
"If I may be bold, Vice Leader, what is the use of this heart, Leader?" the subordinate asked in a curious voice.
"I do know but..." Mark said indifferently. He pulled his gaze away from the heart and then narrowed his eyes at the person who asked the question. " you should not ask so many questions."
"Yes, yes," one of the subordinates hurriedly said, bowing his head.
"Hmph." Mark snorted in disdain, looking at how timid they were.
Flashback End
"Get ready to die. For your grandfather’s debt, I will make you pay," the Silent Reaper said with a manic grin and raised his sword to land the killing blow.
Jack watched coldly and then said in a grim tone, "You better prepare yourself because this time, you won’t be just imprisoned but killed."
"What nonsense are you talking about?" the Silent Reaper scoffed and said in a malicious tone, "Do you think you esca—"
The words froze in his mouth as he saw a blinding white light cover Jack before he vanished from his place.
"Damn, I was careless," the Silent Reaper grunted. It had completely slipped his mind that royal members had teleportation devices that could transfer them anywhere within the borders of their kingdom.
"Anyway, let’s go. We have to meet with Prince Mark and the Devil King of Ingril..." the Silent Reaper said with a smile.
"Leader, can he really keep his promise? What if he lies and just eats us?" one of the men said with clear unease. They knew the nature of devils was vile, cunning, and backstabbing.
"If he backstabs us, just take your own life... We don’t have much choice other than believing him," the Silent Reaper said after some thought. They were already criminals in the demon kingdom, and not only in this kingdom but in others as well, so the only option was aligning with the devils.
"Let’s go."
---
Near the border of the Kingdom, a man with red skin and horns on his head, wearing robes of royalty, was gnawing on a demon’s head. This was the current King of Ingril, Issas Ingril.
Whoosh.
He paused chewing and wiped the blood from his lips, and a terrifying grin appeared on his face as he looked at Mark, who had just appeared.
Gulp.
Mark swallowed a mouthful of saliva, and his body shuddered. For a moment, it seemed like he was about to retreat. He took a deep breath and walked towards the King while ignoring the whispers of the devil soldiers who were looking at Mark with greed.
"Damn, if not for the King, I would already be rushing forward to take a bite out of him."
"I wonder how a demon with noble Bloodline tastes. I heard they are a delicacy."
"I heard they are the most tender and juiciest of all the demons."
He kept a straight face and knelt before the King, presenting the heart.
"I have completed the task," Mark said.
Seeing the heart, Issas shot to his feet and started laughing. "Hahahaha, finally! I have the heart of the Primordial Devil... This Luxem ancestor must be rolling in their graves seeing this."
He took the heart with an excited look. He had been investigating for years to find the heart of the Primordial Devil, who was said to have been killed by the founder of the Luxem Kingdom, and today, he finally got the fruits of his labor.
Whoosh.
"Perfect timing." Issas grinned as he saw the Silent Reaper along with his subordinates appear, and without giving them a chance to react, he pointed the heart towards them. A beam of red light struck them as they fell to their knees and writhed in pain.
"King Issas, what are you doing?" the Silent Reaper, who was feeling the bones in his body shatter, said in anger and confusion.
"I am keeping my promise. I am turning you into devils," Issas smiled, seeing their bodies turn red like demons and horns sprout from their heads.
"Give them the corpses." Issas looked at his curious soldiers, who were watching the scene with fascination. Hearing him, they brought out the corpses of demon criminals and tossed them to the group.
Without hesitation, they lunged toward the corpses and started devouring them.
Mark’s eyes glinted, and his breathing grew heavy as he saw the Silent Reaper transform into a devil. He had been at the beginning of Tier 5 but had now reached the middle of Tier 5.
"It actually worked," Mark said as he sucked in a deep breath and looked at the King impatiently. "Hurry, turn me into one as well."
As for morals and demon pride, he did not care one bit. Compared to becoming stronger, did anything else matter? Even if the price was killing a few thousand innocents of his own kind, he was willing.
"Oh, you don’t mind eating your own kind?" Issas asked in amusement as he looked at Mark and pointed at the others eating demons to stabilize themselves.
"Power is all that matters, and I will keep my word. After I become a devil, I will turn as many demons as I can into devils, turn Luxem into a devil kingdom, and become your vassal," Mark said without hesitation.
"Hahaha, fine," Issas said as he pointed the heart towards Mark, and a beam of red light struck him. He immediately fell down, writhed in pain, and turned into a devil after a few seconds.
"This power... I have broken into Tier 5," Mark said with astonishment.
"Alright, everyone, go and attack the capital," the King said in a commanding tone.
"Yes." All of them, including Mark, knelt down and said as they vanished from their places.
---
Whoosh.
The Silent Reaper and the other criminals teleported directly into the middle of the capital, along with hundreds of devil soldiers who looked at the livestock with greed and hunger.
"Executioner Mark... is that you?" one of the royal soldiers said hesitantly as he recognized Mark, but was bewildered by why he had red skin like the devils and asked with a vague sense of unease, "Why do you look like a devil?"
"Because I am," Mark said with a grin.
"What... ahhh!" Before the soldier could process his words, Mark severed his head from his shoulders and looked at the devil soldiers and shouted,
"Alright, start. Cause as much chaos as you can in the city with the devils," Mark laughed ferociously as he brought out a large halberd. The others followed suit and produced various weapons. The onlookers paled at the sight, a bad premonition rising in their hearts as they took a few steps back in dread and panic.
Whoosh.
Instantly, every single one of them vanished from their spots, and what followed were the cries of the people.
"Ah, no!"
"What are you doing?!"
"My hand—crazy bastard!"
"I don’t want to die!"
"Bunch of madmen!"
"Damn, he bit his head off!"
"Damn devils, they are even defiling the corpses by eating them!"
Bang! Bang!
Cries and curses rang out from the pedestrians who were mercilessly cut down by the devils. Some of the sadistic members pinned their victims down, chopped off their arms and legs, and let them bleed to death. Explosions followed as their attacks landed on the surrounding infrastructure, turning everything into rubble.
Within a few minutes, there was no one left alive except the devils. The ground was littered with corpses, and all the infrastructure was destroyed.
"Haha, boss, it’s been so long since my sword tasted blood."
"Yeah, same here."
"I forgot how fun this was."
Those who spoke were former criminals who had been locked up in prison and released today. Their bodies trembled with excitement, and even the others wore smirks on their faces.
’Fucking crazy bastards,’ Mark thought, twitching his lips before sighing. He was one of the more normal ones, but most of the criminals were deranged, outright sadistic, and cruel. Their favorite pastime was torturing others and inflicting pain, and now that they had become devils, they were even more without restraint.
He was not surprised by their joy. In recent years, the devils had been far more restrained and had paused their destruction and massacres, but today, they finally had the chance to let loose.
"Where are the rest of the guards? Shouldn’t they be—oh, never mind," Mark said, but his lips curled up when he saw the Royal Guards.
Before the Royal Guards could even react, the members of the devils pounced on them with killing intent.
Swoosh.
"Shit, defend!" the leader of the Royal Guards shouted as he noticed this, and they all hurriedly drew their weapons in the nick of time.

"That traitor." Maria clenched her fist as she was disappointed and angry at her brother.
BOOOOOM!
A huge explosion rang out as everyone looked outside and saw a small mushroom cloud.
"Damn, if I don’t go, they will destroy the city." Alaric vanished from his place the next moment, followed by everyone.
