He had accumulated a lot of injuries just as the spider had.

The cuts across his arms and the deep bruise along his ribs were constant reminders that he could not afford another mistake.

Alex now knew the spider was not the type to run.

It definitely had something planned.

The height it chose and the exact timing of the disengage were too clean to be panic.

A large boar monster came into his path.

It roared and threw its whole body at him with enough force to shatter the floor tiles under its hooves.

Alex shifted a little and moved Amethyst Paradox in one clean, efficient arc.

The boar dropped dead instantly.

Alex slammed his foot against the wall and used his mana to create a propelling burst that launched him upward.

It was nowhere near the full height of these walls, but it was enough to get him out of the monsters’ immediate range.

The spider threw another large ball of web.

Alex suddenly threw Amethyst Paradox with all his strength and enhancement toward the opposite wall.

The weapon zipped across the gap and lodged itself firmly into the stone.

As the web-ball attack was about to hit him, Alex pulled hard on the chain and immediately shot toward the upper lodged part of the wall.

The moment he landed, more attacks came.

Alex simply used another mana burst on his legs while dislodging Amethyst Paradox, then threw it again to another section of the wall.

This sequence repeated a few more times.

Each jump carried him higher.

The spider matched him on the opposite wall without slowing.

The spider and Alex were now very high, almost at the top of the maze.

They had climbed so high that the monsters below looked smaller than dots.

From this height they could see the whole maze laid out beneath them.

Alex’s expression stayed cold and focused as he prepared for the final exchange.

The spider’s pink eyes watched him warily and they were still glowing with killing intent.

The final fight was about to move to the last stage.
