The Grass Sword Demon Lord had a great reputation. He was one of the few Demon Lords who were neither exceptionally talented nor blessed with a powerful bloodline that could make it easy for him to advance.

In fact, it was the opposite.

He had been born as a weak Grass Devil, possessing the lowest bloodline even among plant-based Devils.

Given his humble beginnings, no one could have blamed him even if he had died at the Young Devil stage. With such a bloodline, even surviving the Crucible would have been difficult.

Yet the Grass Sword Demon Lord had refused to accept his fate.

He didn’t give up.

Not only had he continued to forge his own path and constantly evolved himself, but he had also used his bloodline to develop his own peculiar swordsmanship.

In the past, his Grass Swordsmanship had been famous throughout the Demon World, sought after by countless experts. It was one of the few abilities that could allow ordinary Devils to contend with the most powerful Devil races.

Although the Grass Sword Demon Lord had later relinquished his Ruler authority and gone into hiding, he remained an infamous mighty expert.

Now, however, the Grass Sword Demon Lord, who had clawed his way from the very bottom of the Demon World to its peak through sheer persistence, was filled with despair.

He turned his head and stared at the Dragon chasing him.

Recalling the strange ways the other Devils had died, he couldn’t help swallowing in fear.

He pushed his potential even further, using every means at his disposal to increase his speed.

Jumping through time. Sacrificing his soul.

He used every method available to him.

He wanted to escape!

He was unwilling to die, unwilling to perish without even getting a glimpse of the stage beyond Ancient Devils.

Unfortunately, his opponent had no intention of letting him go.

When the Grass Sword Demon Lord turned his head again, he saw that not only had he failed to widen the gap between them, but the other party had drawn even closer.

The Dragon’s emotionless eyes met his from afar, plunging his heart into deeper despair.

"No...!" He wanted to shout something, but it was already too late.

The Dragon of Time opened its mouth.

Time fragments shot out and surrounded his figure.

Instantly, a miniature timeline formed around the Grass Sword Demon Lord.

In his perception, the time around him began flowing at an extraordinary speed.

It wasn’t merely thousands or millions of times faster.

Rather, it was a speed the Grass Sword Demon Lord could barely comprehend.

Terror flashed through his mind as he guessed his opponent’s intentions.

However, there was nothing he could do.

With every passing second, he felt his will grow weaker, like an ordinary person growing old.

Until, finally, his consciousness was extinguished.

The Grass Sword Demon Lord was dead, following in the footsteps of his fellow Devils!

--

Liora watched calmly as the Ancient Devil’s body crumbled into ashes.

She showed no surprise. Instead, a trace of satisfaction could be seen in her gem-like eyes.

"All the effort I spent strengthening my Dragon of Time form was worth it. Now, even Ancient Devils cannot resist my time-based attacks."

The ability Liora had deployed was something she had developed on her own over the past few days.

She called it "Eternal Decline."

The way it functioned was actually quite simple and straightforward. She merely accelerated the flow of time around her enemies.

Under normal circumstances, Ancient Devils were immortal, having infinite lifespans.

However, that didn’t mean they could truly live forever. If their will wasn’t tempered enough to sustain their existence, they would eventually perish once enough time had passed.

The Grass Sword Demon Lord was no exception.

In a sense, Liora hadn’t killed him. He had decided to end his own life.

After considering the ability for a while, Liora collected the Grass Sword Demon Lord’s soul and flew away.

The Grass Sword Demon Lord had been the last living being on this continent.

Everyone else, regardless of their identity, was already dead.

This meant she finally had the luxury to examine the treasure she had just collected.

Thinking this, she descended through the air, landed on the continent, and opened an underground cave.

After setting up several formations to ensure no one would discover her, Liora sat down and retrieved the piece of wood she had hastily placed into the Cosmic Sea.

The moment it appeared in the outside world, an unfathomable aura erupted from it. The force threatened to burst through the cave walls and plunge the entire continent into chaos.

Fortunately, the formations suppressed its power and prevented it from destroying everything.

Even so, Liora couldn’t help but feel puzzled upon witnessing this phenomenon.

"This piece of wood showed no reaction at all before, as though it were a dead object."

"Even when everyone fought over it, it didn’t erupt with such an aura. What could have triggered it now?"

Soon, Liora had a faint guess.

Perhaps she was the reason the piece of wood had erupted with such power.

The longer she observed it and the more she sensed the faint resonance between them, the more convinced she became of this guess.

This only made her more curious about its identity.

Wrapping the wood in her consciousness, she let it float before her eyes and examined it closely.

At first glance, it looked utterly unremarkable, like an ordinary piece of wood taken out of a tree.

Yet just seconds later, surprise flashed through Liora’s eyes.

She noticed a peculiar aura emanating from the treasure. Although it was deeply hidden, it obviously existed.

Other Ancient Devils might not have noticed it, no matter how much they investigated. However, Liora did.

Because she had encountered that aura somewhere else before.

It was the lion statue she had been studying not long ago.

Now, this piece of wood gave off a similar aura to the statue.

More precisely, this wood carried the aura of Chaos Gods!
