Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 755: Destroying the Demon Layers

  • Next Chapter

Liora’s consciousness retreated from the River of Time, reemerging in reality and merging with her body.

Although she had experienced a fierce battle and killed a Primordial Devil in the process, only a few moments had passed.

Her gaze swept across her surroundings, taking in everything around her.

The living creatures of the 174th Demon Layer were stunned when faced with her crimson eyes.

Their lack of strength meant that they had been unable to observe the battle between the two Ancient Devils.

Even the Archdevils were the same, only catching a glimpse of what was happening.

Yet from the fact that Liora was still standing while the Fallen Ancestor was nowhere to be seen, every Devil couldn’t help but have a bad feeling.

Especially when they recalled the bloody rain from earlier, which clearly signaled the deaths of two powerhouses.

They had a terrible guess: was their Ruler dead?

Unfortunately, despite having guessed correctly, the weak had no chance to resist in front of the strong.

This rule held true in every world within the Origin Sea, but it was even more absolute in the Demon World.

Liora did not even spare them a glance.

Whether they were recently ascended Lesser Devils or Archdevils who had once filled her heart with fear but who she could now erase with a wave of her hands, they were nothing but mere ants in her eyes.

Glancing at the Demon Layer beneath her feet, she reached out once more.

This time, no one dared to stop her.

The Fallen Ancestor was already dead.

Moreover, the Holy Land Demon Lord’s fall had already revealed the final fate of those who dared to clash with Liora.

No Ancient Devil was stupid enough to stop her.

Therefore, Liora’s actions proceeded smoothly.

Her hand grew increasingly larger until the entire continent could be held in her palm.

Then, her fingers wrapping around it tightened slightly, as though she were about to crush it.

This movement made all the Devils inside the continent desperate.

Fortunately for them, just as it seemed they were about to perish, Liora’s mind stirred.

All the living beings, whether Devils or special creatures, were moved away from the Demon Layer and put away.

Only then did she crush the layer.

With a clench of her fist, the continent broke apart, its countless fragments gathering and fusing together under her control.

No landscape could resist her power, including those protected by special formations engraved by the Fallen Ancestor.

Within mere moments, the 174th Demon Layer had disappeared.

Only Liora’s figure remained where it had once stood, holding a small piece of land in her hand.

"This, combined with the materials I’ve gathered during my journey in the Origin Sea, should be more than enough to create a Demon Layer."

Yet Liora had no intention of doing so just yet.

After her consciousness swept out and took a look at the Ancient Devils, her figure blurred.

She appeared at the edge of the Demon World and descended at an astonishing speed.

The worlds created by Devils flashed before her eyes as she moved toward the bottom of the "cake" that was the Demon World.

171st Layer. 150th Layer. 100th Layer.

She only came to a halt when she reached the thirty-seventh layer.

Clearly, she had reached her destination.

Just as she had done to the Fallen Ancestor’s domain, she immediately took action to destroy this new land.

The 37th Demon Layer was not a continent but a cube, within which lay a massive universe.

If Liora had to compare it with something, it would be the Kingdom of God she had once established.

In fact, that comparison was very apt.

After all, just as her palm descended, ready to blast the Demon Layer into pieces, several holy figures emerged from its depths, resembling angels to a terrifying degree.

With black wings stretching behind their backs and beautiful appearances that made them look like twins, they belonged to the Fallen Angel lineage.

Each possessed an aura at the peak of the Archdevil stage, only lacking an opportunity to advance further and enter the rank of the true powerhouses.

Seeing these women appear at the same time, Liora’s eyes flickered, as though she had sensed something.

The Fallen Angels, however, did not care about her observation.

They were furious!

"How dare you attack the Holy Land Demon Lord’s Layer?!"

"Aren’t you afraid that your whole lineage will be exterminated when the Ruler returns?!"

"You’re dead! You’re dead!" One of the Fallen Angels roared, completely losing her ethereal demeanor.

She didn’t wait for Liora to respond.

"Assemble!" She shouted to the other Fallen Angels, who immediately followed her command.

They all erupted with their power.

To dare to do so despite facing an Ancient Devil, it was obvious they had a trump card.

Indeed.

As the auras of the Fallen Angels resonated, an inexplicable power descended upon them and flowed into their bodies.

After circulating through them, it gathered above their heads, fusing to form a phantom.

It was a woman. With golden wings and an otherworldly appearance that was perfect, she looked beautiful yet dangerous at the same time.

It was the Holy Land Demon Lord!

Under the strange technique unleashed by the Fallen Angels, a projection of her had appeared in reality.

Liora could see that the projection lacked consciousness. It was merely an empty shell created through the Fallen Angels’ strange formation, mimicking the Holy Land Demon Lord’s form and borrowing her power.

Yet it still possessed Ancient Devil strength.

An ordinary Other Shore Devil would find it difficult to defeat it in a short time.

"Is this your source of confidence to dare to block my way?" Liora glanced at the projection and then at the bloodthirsty Fallen Angels.

She lightly shook her head.

"Unfortunately, you’re overestimating yourselves. I could kill your Ruler while she was alive, much less now, when she is merely an imitation."

"Don’t say a projection. Even if her real form was real, she would have to beg for mercy."

As she spoke, Liora casually waved her hand.

There was no ability involved.

No energy emerged, nor was there any activation of a concept.

Yet under the shocked eyes of the Fallen Angels, the Holy Land Demon Lord’s projection was annihilated, erased from existence.

With their formation shattered, each Fallen Angel suffered backlash.

Each spat out a mouthful of blood, while their condensed Thrones revealed large fissures all over their surfaces.

That, however, was the least of their concerns.

Their minds were occupied with how easily Liora had destroyed the Holy Land Demon Lord’s projection.

More importantly, they recalled her words.

Was the Holy Land Demon Lord... dead?
