Chapter 537: Silver Dragon
At first, the chaos occurred solely in the eastern region of the Blood Forest Realm.
Yet as the border cities were breached and the Devil army marched in, the chaos soon spread throughout.
The central, southern, northern, and even western regions...
Within a few days, the Devils had spread everywhere, like a swarm of locusts looking for their next prey.
Hundreds of tribes fell. Their weak Gods were unable to withstand the Devils’ attacks and soon perished.
Statues of once-revered deities were torn down, shattering under the march of the Devil army.
For a little while, the only people who had the privilege of remaining unaffected by the chaos were the truly powerful Awakeners—and other formidable beings.
--
The Dragonling Forest was a famous landscape within the central region.
Its range spanned hundreds of kilometers, and it contained hundreds of demons.
Just as its name would suggest, these demons all shared the same characteristic: the blood of dragons was rushing through their body.
The reason this occurred remained a mystery for the nearby residents.
However, the realization was already enough to hold them back from entering the forest.
As a result, it had been rendered as a forbidden place for non-demon creatures. No one would visit it.
At least... until now.
The strange peace that Dragonling Forest maintained was broken as soon as a group of visitors suddenly arrived.
--
A thunderous growl echoed through the clearing. The Devil’s black claws dug into the heart of the serpent, pulling it out and devouring it mercilessly while it was still beating.
In another location, a female Devil waved a spear and crushed her opponent into a cloud of blood mist.
On the northern side, a lizard faced the power of shadows...
Within minutes of the Devils’ arrival, thousands of demons had been killed.
Their agonizing screams lingered behind, as their blood transformed into a sea.
The Devils showed no intention of halting their advance.
More and more of them arrived, like ants who had discovered a piece of food and called upon their companions.
It seemed that these creatures would not rest until every being in the Dragonling Forest had perished.
But suddenly, this all changed.
The Devils all froze in unison.
They struggled to raise their head and looked toward the center of the forest, where they could sense an unfathomable aura emerging.
A moment later, a roar echoed through the heavens, followed by the sound of flapping.
In the sky above the Dragonling Forest, a giant figure appeared.
More than one hundred meters in length and covered in shiny silver scales, it was a majestic beast. A Dragon.
Despite the difference in their respective size, the dragon’s shadow loomed over the entire forest.
Like shadowy tentacles, it quickly covered its entire territory.
A flash of anger flashed across its eyes as its gaze swept through the forest.
It was already furious to have been suddenly woken up.
Now seeing its descendants slaughtered like livestock, the dragon could not contain its anger.
Opening its maw wide, it softly breathed out.
The world seemed to respond to its call. Hundreds of white clouds gathered right above its head, and silver lightning sizzled inside of them.
Zip! Zip! Zip!
The lightning turned into bursts that shot down one after another, targeting the Devils who had yet to react.
They were unable to offer any resistance. The moment the lightning touched them, their bodies turned into ash.
The thunder falling lasted for quite a while.
By the time the clouds dispersed and the blue sky remerged, all the Devils were dead.
Not only those within the forest, but also those within a radius of hundreds of kilometers around it.
The dragon’s anger was relieved.
Although curious about those strange creatures’ appearance, it didn’t pay much heed to it.
Turning around, it flapped its giant silver wings, intending to return to its nest.
But just then, the dragon’s movements halted.
A small figure was reflected in its pale pupils.
With long red hair and crimson eyes, she looked much like an ordinary human.
However, in the dragon’s perception, the woman was completely different.
Rather than facing a human, it felt as though it were facing another one of its race.
Moreover, judging by the bloodline oppression, the other party appeared to have a higher bloodline concentration than it did.
In Devil terms, the woman appeared to be the source of its very bloodline.
A feeling of wishing to submit to her arose within the dragon’s heart. But this only made it even more furious.
Given its arrogant nature, being forced to submit was a supreme humiliation!
It struggled to move, paying no heed to its cracking scales as it did.
Forcing itself to open its mouth wide, it let out a threatening roar.
Unfortunately, its shout received no reaction.
On the other side, Liora merely nodded her head with a smile.
She continued urging the Dragon Law and the dragon talent gene, intensifying her pressure even further.
Within moments, the pressure had gotten so powerful that the silver dragon was unable to struggle.
Seeing this, a flicker of surprise flashed across her eyes.
"To be able to stun a Rank 9 dragon based solely on its suppression, the Dragon Law is even more extraordinary than I initially thought."
"I’m afraid even Rank 10 and Rank 11 Dragons will be unable to withstand the shock.", she whispered in her mind.
But at the same time, she couldn’t help but wonder: since such a world existed for the Dragon race, would there be something similar for the Devil race?
If that was indeed the case, wouldn’t the person in charge of it be able to control all Devils?
A few moments later, Liora shook her head.
Even if such a Law truly existed, no being could possibly master it.
In her opinion, only the Will of the Demon World was capable of mastering such an unfathomable power.
Considering its own strength, however, whether it possessed the Devil Law or not did not change anything.
Thinking of this, Liora shifted her attention back to reality.
Her gaze settled on the dragon before her.
The reason she had visited the Dragonling Forest was not only to test the Dragon Law, but also to get rid of one of the Devil army’s main enemies.
The dragon was not the only creature she visited.
Over the past few days, she had already killed several such beings.
The Dragonling Forest was actually her final stop.
However, as her eyes lingered on the dragon before her, a trace of appreciation couldn’t help but flash in Liora’s eyes.
She stroked her chin. She felt that it would be a waste to kill such a creature.
Unfortunately, its threatening eyes made it abundantly clear that it was unwilling to become her subordinate.
At that thought, Liora shook her head with a look of pity. More specifically, her pity was addressed to the silver dragon.
"If you don’t wish to become my subordinate, then there is only one other possible position for you...", she sighed, her eyes growing colder.
"A pet."
