Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 403: EX Rating: Sevel-Colored Reward

Chapter 403: EX Rating: Sevel-Colored Reward

Liora did not know where the bronze statue had been teleported to.

It could have appeared in another place within the inheritance palace, in the maze outside, or even in the Origin Sea outside this world.

All she could know was that it was no longer within the dark void of the second trial. It had been banished.

And that was enough for her.

Breathing a sigh of relief once she had confirmed that her plan could work, Liora didn’t stop for a moment.

She shifted her focus to the rest of the bronze statues.

She didn’t target the ones entangled by Eclipse or Snake of Time, but instead rushed straight towards the battlefield of her clone.

This was not only because it was the weakest side, but also because it was the one battlefield she could not afford to lose.

This clone contained almost half of her Indestructible Matter.

If it were to perish, her strength would decrease massively for the next period of time.

In simple terms, Liora could not afford to lose this clone.

With that in mind, she quickly arrived at the battlefield.

Since the clone had a large amount of her strength, it was not at a disadvantage despite facing three bronze statues.

If anything, it showed signs of suppressing them.

“Of course, this means nothing.”

“These creatures are indestructible. Sooner or later, the clone will run out of Indestructible Matter and will perish.”, Liora judged, though her movements didn’t pause for even half a second.

Controlling the clone to entangle two of the statues, she teleported beside the last of them and used the same method as before.

Devil Rune after Devil Rune was arranged neatly on the bronze statue’s body, covering its entire surface.

With previous experience, she was now even faster.

Within only a few exchanges, the formation had been completed.

A bright light flickered, and the next moment, this bronze statue suffered the same fate as the previous one.

An overwhelming teleporting force arrived and dragged it away.

Although the opponent seemed to have learned from the end of its companion and brandished its weapon to smooth out the space, its struggle was ultimately meaningless.

As a formation containing every bit of knowledge that Liora had since her birth, it was impossible for a mindless statue, relying solely on its might, to break it.

Soon, one of the three statues previously entangled by Liora’s clone was dealt with.

And, the other two soon followed the same fate.

Even quicker than before, the two bodies took action at the same time and arranged two different formations, banishing the statues to some unknown place.

The two bodies only exchanged a brief glance afterwards.

Sharing the same mind, they didn’t need to communicate. Or rather, the real Liora had absolute control over her split body.

Under her command, the two immediately rushed towards the other battlefields.

The light of formations being activated one after another was reflected in the Zerg Queen’s pitch-black eyes.

Sitting within the dark void, she stared at the scene with a confused expression, her teeth clattering with fury.

She couldn’t understand what went wrong.

“Isn’t this palace supposedly made by an invincible powerhouse?”

“How could the trial have such obvious loopholes?!”, she couldn’t help but smash the space in front of her, wondering whether the palace had betrayed her.

However, she soon took a deep breath and regained her composure.

She knew that passing the three trials had given her partial control over the inheritance palace, and she could now subtly manipulate it, such as changing the trial difficulty.

In a certain way, she had become the new “judge” for the inheritance, waiting for the true inheritor to arrive and take the palace away.

As long as that inheritor didn’t arrive, she had nothing to fear. Moreover, as long as she advanced, she would turn into the real inheritor.

“Passing the second trial is nothing.”, the Zerg Queen tried to convince herself.

“It’s the third trial that’s the most difficult.”

“Judging by this woman’s aura, she is not too old. If anything, she is quite young. Not even a thousand years old.”

“How strong could her mind possibly be?”

The third trial was already nearly impossible to complete. Now that the difficulty had been set to the highest, the word “nearly” ought to disappear.

According to the information that the Zerg Queen obtained, one would need to possess the talent to reach that powerhouse’s realm to pass this test.

But how was it possible?

Thinking of this, the Zerg Queen’s tense nerves relaxed.

She ignored the central scene, afraid that watching Liora would make her even more furious, and turned to look at the other images.

By now, the Commander’s subordinate had perished.

On the other hand, the two women accompanying Liora were doing quite well.

Although they were both still at the first trial, they had made a shocking amount of progress.

Alpha had already solved 10% of that puzzle, while Assira had almost reached 20%.

Such a terrifying rate of progress would have shocked the Zerg Queen if it were in the past.

After all, these two women showed the potential to complete the first trial within a month.

However, having witnessed Liora’s earlier passing, she now didn’t care about them.

She continued watching the two women solve the puzzle, her face calm and her mind free of any emotional fluctuations.

In the now-empty planet, Liora retracted her clone and breathed a sigh of relief.

Although the fight had not lasted for long, five percent of the clone’s Indestructible Matter had been consumed.

Fortunately, this was acceptable for Liora. It was a loss she was willing to suffer.

As she watched the final bronze statue be teleported away, the familiar voice rang in her ears.

“Challenger 19024 has completed the second trial.”

“Difficulty: Highest. Rating: EX.”

“Please select one of the following three rewards.”

Liora did not know if it was her illusion, but she could hear a small emotional fluctuation within the voice’s tone.

However, she didn’t mull over it for long.

Three lights soon appeared before her, each representing a different reward she could choose from.

But unlike the previous trial, the light covering these treasures was not golden.

Instead, a seven-color light revolved around them, as if a rainbow was trying to hide their brilliance.

Although such a thing had not been mentioned by Assira, Liora guessed that this meant that they were of higher value.

Most likely, it was because her SSSS+ rating had now turned into EX.

Similarly, it also confirmed that something had gone wrong with the previous trial.

“Someone must be manipulating it secretly. Is it the owner of the inheritance palace, or the Zerg Queen?”, she thought.

But soon, she shook her head.

“Now is not the time to think about it. I’d better choose the reward first.”, she whispered and raised her head.

Her eyes landed on the seven-colored lights in front of her.

Her consciousness moved as she did her best to try to discern the feeling that each of them gave her.
