Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 256: Demon Colosseum

Chapter 256: Demon Colosseum

Liora exited her practice state, but she didn’t rush to leave the inn just yet and enter the chaos outside.

Before doing that, she was prepared to obtain more information regarding Bloodflower City and its most powerful residents.

However, this didn’t mean that she would have to do this by herself.

Following her journey was Alpha, whose purpose was far from only guarding her room.

“Besides Duke Bloodflower, a Greater Devil, there are also six other True Devils. Although they are all fairly strong and far more powerful than ordinary True Devils, there are still differences between them.”

“For example, Kazrien, who just now visited, is considered neither weak nor strong. If anything, he is in the middle among those six True Devils.”

“On the other hand, there is Lord…”

Liora listened quietly to Alpha’s words.

Though she didn’t know how Alpha had managed to collect that information, it ultimately didn’t matter to her.

She trusted Alpha and believed that she would not let her down.

Thus, although she didn’t take her words at face value, she was inclined to believe them.

Alpha continued her speech.

Liora would nod and gesture for her to continue every now and then, while interrupting and asking a pointed question from time to time.

Before long, Alpha was finished, having mentioned every piece of information that she had learned so far.

“Most of the information you collected matches what Kazrien said.”

“It seems that he truly doesn’t have any malicious intent at the moment, and he is indeed here to seek an alliance.”, Liora commented and nodded her head.

The fact that she did not get much new information did not make her dissatisfied.

In her mind, confirming that Kazrien’s words were true was more than enough.

Moreover, it was not as if there was nothing new.

“Although it’s impossible to be certain that the information known by the general public is correct, it’s not too difficult to confirm it.”, Liora whispered and raised her head.

Her gaze penetrated through the demi-plane and landed on the outside world, surveying Bloodflower City.

In particular, she paid special attention to the six True Devil auras, while doing her best not to alert the Duke.

Surprisingly, none of the six True Devils seemed to have noticed her peeking, as there was no action from them.

In fact, if anyone were to take a closer look at her, they would discover that a pale domain had unknowingly engulfed Liora’s body and completely concealed her aura.

It was Silent Domain.

Although her advancement had not added any new effects to this ability, it was a fact that it had been strengthened considerably.

Coupled with Liora’s overall improvement and her increased control over the power of Nothingness, it had now become difficult for opponents who were equal in power with her to detect her.

“Of course, this ability is not omnipotent. The only reason they can’t detect me is that they are not paying any attention.”

“If I chose to wander around the place where they reside, they would instantly notice my presence, regardless of how hard I try to conceal myself.”, Liora shook her head.

But this was already enough.

By sensing the difference in the six powerful auras in the city, she had partly confirmed Alpha’s words regarding the six Lords’ power ranking.

Thinking of this, an imperceptible light flickered within her eyes. After a few seconds, she waved her hand and gestured for Alpha to follow her.

Then, she took another step and exited the room, and perhaps most importantly, the inn itself.

Under the suppression of one Greater Devil and six True Devils, the people in the city had to follow the established rules whether they were willing or not.

Of course, this didn’t mean that the city was orderly.

As a city composed of bloodthirsty Devils, Bloodflower City was bound to be chaotic.

Even though it seemed ordinary at first, the hidden bloodlust and the well-concealed darkness beneath its outer veil were apparent to people who wished to dig deeper.

This evil nature shrouded everything.

From the land outside the city and its outskirts to its very center, where most of the powerful Devils were residing.

However, if anyone were to stop a person on the street and ask them what the most “evil” place in the city was, they would not even need to think twice.

No matter who they were, they would give the same answer:

“Demon Colosseum…”, Liora muttered as she inspected her surroundings.

At the moment, she was standing on top of a long row of audience stands, which spread seemingly endlessly and encircled a giant arena.

Many Devils could be seen sitting in the audience seats, screaming wildly and shaking their hands passionately, while two Devils had been thrown into the arena and were battling under their eyes.

“Kill! Kill! Kill!”

“Tear them apart!”

“Fight, trash! Fight!”

Many curses reached Liora’s ears, all coming from the audience, but she consciously ignored them.

Most of her attention was on the two people standing in the arena.

They were both Devils, and Lesser Devils at that.

Though they had not yet reached the peak of that stage, they were not far from it.

One of them controlled the earth below them to form spikes and tossed them at their opponent, while the other Devil held a massive axe and used it to split them apart.

Although the arena was huge, stretching for many kilometers, it was quite small for beings of their level.

Thus, it didn’t take long for the two people to be entangled with each other, choosing to fight in close-quarters combat.

Liora did not have much to say regarding their fighting methods or abilities.

She could have easily killed such people the very moment she became a Lesser Devil, much less now that she had advanced a step further.

To the current her, the scene of two Lesser Devils fighting was nothing but a children’s play.

However, this didn’t mean that Liora had no thoughts regarding this sight.

As her eyes reflected the flickering figures of the two Devils and her ears heard the bloodthirsty screams of the excited audience, she couldn’t help but shake her head, feeling slightly emotional.

“If it were the world of Knights, or any other low world for that matter, these two people would be crowned as Kings and enjoy a life of riches and luxury.”

“Even in some stronger worlds, Lesser Devils can still survive and enjoy a high-level status and the privileges that come with it.”

“Yet at the Demon World, such people have to fight for other people’s entertainment, like zoo animals acting cute for a piece of meat.”, Liora revealed her inner thoughts.

Though she didn’t lower her voice, no one else in the audience was able to hear her words.

Only Alpha, sitting beside her, did and nodded her head in agreement, as if she had realized something. At the same time, an inexplicable brilliance flashed within her amber eyes.

While Liora was speaking and Alpha was listening, the battle in the arena did not stop.

The two Devils continued fighting to the best of their ability until suddenly, a spike of earth rose from the ground and penetrated the female Devil’s body.

The female Devil tried to struggle. She raised her hands that were holding the axe and threw it at their opponent, hoping to take him with her in the afterlife.

Unfortunately, although the axe ended up embedded in the male Devil’s abdomen, it failed to kill him, merely causing him to collapse on the ground, covered in his own blood.

In his current state, even a Little Devil would have no trouble dealing with him.

But having been nailed by a giant earth spike, the female Devil no longer possessed any strength.

A second later, she also collapsed to the ground, the only difference from her opponent being that she was dead.

A brief silence shrouded the colosseum as even the sound of a needle dropping would be heard.
