Chapter 231: Divine Punishment
Chapter 231: Divine Punishment
Though she thought of a lot, Liora did not linger.
Facing the sea of black flames, her mind moved, and she calmly raised her hand.
Instantly, gray substances dropped out of the sky and surrounded her figure.
Then, under her command, they shot towards the raging black flames.
One black and raging and one gray yet silent, the two forces of flames and Nothingness soon clashed in the middle of the battlefield.
In an instant, the outcome was decided.
The power of Nothingness instantly wiped out the black flames, and after part of it was dissolved, it continued rushing towards the True Heart Devil.
The man had never predicted such a thing would occur.
Yet despite this, he reacted very quickly.
Before the Nothingness could reach him, the black flames surrounding him moved once again.
They didn’t turn into a sea this time, but instead into humanoid figures. These figures were created out of flames, yet had a similar outline to his own.
“Some type of clone or incarnation!”, Liora realized as she watched the many True Heart Devils cooperate.
They worked together and formed a wall in front of his real form, cooperating to withstand the power of Nothingness.
Banging noises soon echoed, as the clones were destroyed one after another.
In the end, although they all dissipated, the power of Nothingness had also vanished with them.
Having expected this, the True Heart Devil did not wait.
He took advantage of this window of opportunity and rushed towards Liora.
As he moved, many afterimages were left whenever he went through, transforming into beings that looked exactly like him.
Not only in appearance, but also in aura and strength.
Liora instantly noticed the bizarreness of this ability.
Although she tried to expand her consciousness and discern the opponent’s real form, she was unable to, as if they were all one and the same.
If that happened to her, with a strong will and a powerful soul, then it would probably be impossible for a True Devil to detect the True Heart Devil’s real form.
However, Liora did not give up just yet.
She activated another one of her recently awakened abilities.
Immediately, the space in front of her folded and turned into a giant maw.
As it opened, the surrounding matter was attracted and rushed into its mouth, soon transforming into energy and supplying it with power.
This was true for the abundant darkness in this place, as well as the space itself.
Even some of the lights representing the worlds flickered violently, as if attracted by the Abyssal Maw’s power.
Since the nearby worlds were affected by the aftermath, the True Heart Devil, who stood at the epicenter of the attack, was affected the most.
Instantly, the vast majority of his bodies dispersed, turning into flames, flying up, and ending up as the Abyssal Maw’s nutrients.
Only a single body remained, clearly being his real form.
The True Heart Devil’s pupils shrank as he felt the impact of the attack.
However, after suppressing the attraction of the Abyssal Maw and ignoring the backlash he suffered as a result of his clones’ destruction, the True Heart Devil resumed his movements.
In the blink of an eye, he had appeared beside Liora and struck her. The flesh of his six arms began to squirm.
Flesh grew out and granulated, transforming into a set of weapons that fell into the newly grown palms.
They were a saber, a sword, a spear, a dagger, a shield, and a heavy club.
All of them were covered in tattoo-like patterns, which flashed brightly and enhanced the weapon’s power, as they fell towards Liora in unison.
Due to the True Heart Devil’s increased size, the many weapons ended up besieging Liora from all directions.
Both she and her surroundings were targeted at the same time, making it impossible for her to evade.
At the same time, a faint suppression appeared and descended onto her, as if wishing to lock her in place.
If it were before, that suppression would have been enough to render her unable to resist.
But the current Liora no longer faced such an issue.
With a thought, her demonic energy surged and crushed the suppression trying to trap her.
Then, it flowed into her hand and gathered into a spear.
Spear of the Blighted Sun.
No! This was no longer the Spear of the Blighted Sun, but the Spear of Divine Punishment!
Its upgrade had not only caused a change in name.
Its appearance and power had also drastically changed.
The gold color on the spear’s handle had grown even deeper, while many brilliant lights flickered across its shiny surface.
The demonic flames that had once surrounded it disappeared, replaced by a white mist-like substance.
The mist was truly indescribable, possessing many forms at once.
It sometimes looked like thunder, others like holy power, and others like the power of calamity and the end.
Just like the spear’s name suggested, this was the power that only worlds possessed, the power of Divine Punishment!
Holding onto the spear’s handle, Liora felt more confident than ever.
Facing the incoming barrage of attacks, she didn’t try to evade.
Instead, her grip on the spear tightened it, and she waved it around her in the shape of a circle.
The spear’s tip streaked through the air and landed on the weapons one after another.
At first, it seemed as if nothing had happened, as if her blow had been rendered invalid.
But only a mere heartbeat later, a faint crack echoed in the Origin Sea.
As if it had been agreed beforehand, all the weapons that the True Heart Devil was holding cracked and began falling apart.
In just a second, the weapons that were made out of a True Devil’s flesh, and enhanced by an unknown power, had shattered, crumbling into dust like ordinary mortal items.
This fully displayed the power that the Spear of Divine Punishment currently possessed. Although only two words had changed its name, its strength now far surpassed common sense!
