Evolution by Adding Points
Chapter 105 - 81: Transformed Vision
He’d read online that taking a bath was actually more effective for relieving exercise-induced fatigue, but unfortunately, his rented place was rather basic. It only had a shower, no bathtub.
As for going to the Jingtang Club for daily spa treatments, he couldn’t afford it with his meager savings.
With no other choice, Chen Jue had to resort to a poor man’s solution: he went online and bought a foldable soaking tub. He also hunted down some Yao herbal bath packets, planning to test the efficacy of these soaks.
The sellers hyped up the effects of the herbal bath packets to be almost magical, claiming they could do everything from warming the kidneys and reinforcing yang energy to relieving fatigue and dispelling cold. Since he had his panel to monitor any changes to his Constitution Attribute, he figured he had to give it a try.
’It’s only a few hundred yuan anyway. If I can grind out some Attribute points just by taking baths, wouldn’t that be a huge win?’
...
After returning to his apartment, Chen Jue didn’t do any more training. He took some cod liver oil and a few slices of ginseng, then went to bed early to rest and relax.
Before falling asleep, he started chatting with Teacher Wu again.
They talked about everything from creative ideas for his stunt videos to funny things that happened at their respective schools, letting the conversation drift to whatever topic caught their interest.
It felt a bit like being a student in love, talking on the phone for hours on end. They chatted for several hours without a break.
’Teacher Wu is getting more and more proactive,’ Chen Jue thought, smiling at his WeChat conversation.
With a girl to chat with, the long evening passed by in a flash.
Eventually, Chen Jue drifted off into a Deep Sleep mid-conversation, and, quite rarely, the panel triggered another notification that his Constitution Attribute had increased.
When he woke up early the next morning, Chen Jue felt completely relaxed and exceptionally energetic.
’So refreshing!’
Chen Jue stretched, went up to the roof, and faced the rising sun to continue his eye and ear exercises.
After finishing his 45-minute eye and ear exercise regimen, Chen Jue discovered he could see the world more clearly!
The faintly purple rising sun, the azure sky, the wisps of white clouds, and the tranquil Jiang University campus—he could see them all with perfect clarity.
Just then, a notification popped up on the panel:
——————
[Ding~]
[You have completed one effective eye health exercise. Blood circulation in your eyes has slightly increased, the mitochondria in your retinas have become exceptionally active, and your vision has been greatly improved.]
[Constitution Attribute +0.01]

’My vision is recovering?’
’I don’t need to wear my glasses anymore?’
Chen Jue took the last pair of his transitional glasses—with a -1.00 diopter prescription—from his pocket and put them on. He found that wearing them for even a short time made him feel a little dizzy.
This was a sign that the prescription was no longer a match!
His eyes were now more comfortable seeing without any corrective lenses!
"YES!"
"Finally, I don’t have to be a four-eyes anymore!" Chen Jue clenched his fists in excitement and pumped them toward the azure sky.
Since awakening the panel, his eyes had been the part of his body that changed the most.
However, his vision wasn’t completely restored yet. Chen Jue could still sense a slight blurriness and ghosting when looking at things far away.
This meant his prescription was still there, probably around -0.40 or -0.50 diopters.
This was considered an accommodative spasm (the common market term "pseudomyopia" doesn’t actually exist in professional ophthalmology). It’s caused by excessive focusing effort within the eye, which leads to a fluctuating and artificially high prescription. It wouldn’t affect his daily life, and it could be corrected by consistently doing eye exercises and practicing proper eye care.
Wearing glasses in this situation would actually make the myopia worse, turning what could be temporary into a permanent condition.
...
Having taken off the glasses he’d worn for over a decade, Chen Jue was in high spirits.
Nearly a month of consistent training had finally yielded a significant physical improvement, making Chen Jue all the more certain that his initial decision had been correct.
’Keep it up!’
’Besides my eyesight, I still have to slowly conquer my hair loss, hemorrhoids, and gallstones.’ Chen Jue began to look forward to the day he would be fully restored to peak health.
He drove to the park, where Teacher Wu was doing her usual morning exercises with her grandfather.
"Huh?"
"Brother Jue, where are your glasses?"
"Did you switch to contacts?" Wu Fang asked curiously. She noticed that Chen Jue looked even different today than he had the day before.
Without the glasses that had always rested on the bridge of his nose, Chen Jue’s facial features truly stood out!
What’s more, his regular routine had cleared away much of the stubborn oil and dull pigmentation from his face. His skin was now fair, his lips had a faint reddish hue—it was as if he had a completely different face from when they first met!
Although his looks were maybe a 5-out-of-10 at best, paired with this clean-cut aura, he could easily be considered a handsome, cheerful guy. The only remaining flaw was his hair.
Chen Jue’s eyes, in particular, looked exceptionally bright and clear in the morning sunlight.
Wu Fang had only ever seen such clear eyes on her own students!
"No contacts. I’ve been sleeping and waking up early lately, and my vision’s improved a bit. It just feels more comfortable without glasses," Chen Jue said with a slight smile, not bothering to explain further.
After all, if he told people his prescription had dropped from over -5.00 to around -0.50 in just one month, absolutely no one would believe him.
...
After greeting Wu Fang and her grandfather, Chen Jue headed into a small grove of trees.
Zhao Jianguo’s Tai Chi Class met every day unless it rained; even on public holidays, plenty of students would still show up to practice.
The students were all retirees who lived nearby. With both money and time on their hands, the only thing they really cared about anymore was their health.
As for the scruffy-bearded, middle-aged Daoist priest, he was in his usual spot today, sitting by the stone table drinking tea and chanting sutras. However, his slightly narrowed eyes keenly noted the change in Chen Jue’s face.
