Chapter 518: Earth Itself
Aiden took a deep breath. At that moment, the power of his Inner Spirit rose to its peak.
Then the third message arrived.
It was the most terrifying one yet. Like a blinding beam of light, it crashed into the deepest part of Aiden’s Inner Spirit.
"Third, about the Lord of the Primordial..."
Yves’s figure was already fading away in large pieces, but his eyes shone brighter than ever before.
"We spent our whole lives searching for the Lord of the Primordial. We believed it was some supreme being, something beyond description."
"But we were wrong. Completely wrong!"
"The Lord of the Primordial was never a single living being!"
At that moment, Yves’s afterimage finally broke apart into countless points of light. Only his final, almost crazed cry exploded deep within Aiden’s soul:
"Earth itself is the Lord of the Primordial!"
Boom!
The lava deep beneath the Earth erupted wildly. The whole planet seemed to let out a low, heavy groan.
Endless waves of law energy swept through the area, tearing the white space apart.
Aiden stood frozen, his mind in complete chaos.
This truth destroyed everything he had believed before.
Every vein of energy within Earth, every law, every terrifying Great Destruction, and even every human struggling to survive...
They were all parts of the Lord of the Primordial’s dream during its endless sleep.
Inside Aiden, his entire system of laws made cracking sounds under the pressure. It began to break apart and rebuild itself at a terrifying speed.
This was not simply a deeper understanding of the laws. It was a complete rebirth of everything he understood.
Slowly, Aiden raised his head and looked at the trembling golden door. In his double-pupiled eyes, the vast image of the entire planet was reflected.
It turned out that the end of the path to godhood was to awaken this sleeping giant?
Boom!
The huge waves of lava beneath Aiden’s feet suddenly became calm. The Light and Law of Thunder in his double-pupiled eyes slowly faded.
Without hesitation, he took one step forward.
The space in front of him shattered beneath his feet like fragile glass.
Space folded. The world turned upside down.
In the next moment, Aiden crossed countless distances and appeared directly in the main council hall at the heart of Celestial Imperial City.
His white robes moved in the air, and his divine presence filled the room like a prison.
Buzz!
Four powerful waves of law energy appeared in the void almost at the same time.
Bella, the Lord of the Frozen Void. Cheryl, who had inherited the power of Primordial Miko. Zoey, who held the small chip of primal law. And Eira, the Empress of the Great Shaw Empire.
The four most powerful people on Earth all looked seriously at Aiden, who sat at the head of the hall.
"Aiden, what happened deep inside the Earth?"
Eira spoke first. Behind her, the Golden Dragon of National Destiny gave a low, uneasy growl, as if it had sensed something truly terrifying.
Aiden did not answer right away. He slowly opened his eyes, and the vast image of the entire planet appeared in his double-pupiled eyes.
The temperature in the hall dropped to freezing in an instant. The terrifying pressure of the laws made the surrounding space creak as if it could no longer hold.
"I saw Yves’s afterimage."
Aiden’s voice was calm, but his words struck the hearts of the four women like a heavy hammer.
Bella’s eyes narrowed. The freezing laws around her instantly lost control, and countless pale ice crystals formed out of thin air.
"What did he say?" Cheryl asked urgently, her body trembling slightly with tension.
Aiden rose to his feet and gently drew a line through the air with one hand.
Boom!
A miniature map of Earth, formed from Light and the Law of Thunder, spread through the air. It was beautiful, yet its broken parts were shocking to see.
"He told me the cruelest and most honest truth about this world."
Aiden looked at the rotating miniature planet and spoke slowly, one word at a time:
"The Lord of the Primordial is not some supreme being beyond description. It is not a god or a demon."
"It is the planet beneath our feet—Earth itself!"
Thunder roared!
The truth exploded in the four women’s minds like a bolt from a clear sky. Their faces turned deathly pale.
Earth itself... was the Lord of the Primordial?!
"That’s impossible!" Zoey cried. "If Earth is the Lord of the Primordial, then what are the Great Destructions that happen every five thousand years? And what about the countless invading ranks of the Abyss’s myriad races?"
Aiden gave a cold laugh. A sharp, mocking light flashed in his double-pupiled eyes.
"There is no enemy attacking Earth."
"The so-called Great Destruction is simply a period of self-rebuilding that begins after Earth’s system of laws has been running for five thousand years."
"It is like a machine that has been running for too long. It needs to be wiped clean and restarted."
Aiden’s words completely overturned everything they had believed for ten thousand years.
"Then what about the Abyss Demons? What about the Heavenly Demon Clan? Aren’t they invaders?" Eira asked hoarsely. The Golden Dragon of National Destiny roared wildly behind her.
"They are invaders, of course. But they did not break in from outside."
Aiden pointed at the black spots gathered around the center of the star map. His eyes were as cold as steel.
"The so-called ’Seven Seals’ were not seals left behind by Yves. They were inert masses formed when the laws of Earth were rebuilding themselves and became infected by outsiders from the Heavenly Demon Clan!"
"The Heavenly Demons were never an outside threat!"
"They are like viruses hidden deep inside Earth’s system of laws. Every time Earth begins rebuilding itself, its repair system activates them, causing them to spread like madness!"
Cheryl drew in a sharp breath. A cold chill ran through her whole body.
So the epic war humanity had fought for survival for ten thousand years was, from Earth’s point of view, nothing more than a brutal operation to remove a virus.
"Then what is the evolutionary leap? What is the Divine Ascension Tribulation?" Bella stared at Aiden. Even her calm, cold voice now trembled slightly.
With a wave of his sleeve, Aiden used the Law of Light to instantly cleanse the black spots on the star map. Endless life force spread through it.
"The evolutionary leap was never meant to turn humans into gods. That is only a side effect."
"It is Earth’s own evolution."
"Earth wants to upgrade its system of laws. It wants to leave behind the cycle of self-destruction that happens once every five thousand years and become an immortal system with no more cycles."
"Once the evolution succeeds, every living thing on Earth will enter this new immortal system. They will gain true immortality and a completely new way of life."
Aiden’s voice echoed through the hall. It carried absolute power and certainty.
"Yves was trapped inside the core for five hundred years. He saw the truth, but he understood it the wrong way."
"He believed that golden door was Earth’s test for humanity. He thought that answering the three questions would allow someone to become a god."
"But in truth, that door... is a self-rebuilding device Earth prepared for itself."
Aiden took a deep breath. The Law of Thunder and the Law of Light in his double-pupiled eyes rose to their peak. At that moment, space itself froze completely.
"To help Earth finish its rebuilding process, Yves forced the remaining power of his laws into that door. He tried to become the one perforLeon the operation, but he failed. Fragments of his consciousness became trapped both inside and outside the door."
"He was waiting for someone who could truly begin the rebuilding process."
The hall fell silent.
The four women stood frozen, their minds overwhelmed by waves of shock.
This truth was too heavy, too insane to accept.
Aiden looked around at everyone. His eyes were sharp as blades, filled with the confidence and pride of someone who stood above the world.
"So now, I need to fill the vessel within one year and fully trigger [All Things Return to Their Source]."
"My goal is not to open that door."
"It is to completely remove the door made from the remaining power of Yves’s laws, return the fragments of his consciousness to their proper place, and then—"
Aiden’s lips curved into a slight smile. An endless sea of stars was reflected in his double-pupiled eyes.
"Let Earth complete the final rebuilding process it has been waiting ten thousand years for!"
A deathly silence spread through the hall.
Eira, Bella, Cheryl, and Zoey could barely breathe.
The truth about Earth was like an invisible hammer, smashing apart everything they had believed for thousands of years.
"Ten months."
Aiden slowly raised one finger. The thunder and holy fire twisting together in his double-pupiled eyes burned the air until space itself seemed to bend.
"We have only ten months left before the one-year deadline."
"In those ten months, I must completely fill the vessel for [All Things Return to Their Source]."
His voice was calm, but it carried an authority no one could question.
At that moment, Leon, who had been standing in the shadows, slowly stepped forward.
His eyes were deep and still like an ancient lake. Mysterious chains of rules surrounded him.
"The Heavenly Demons will not wait quietly for their end."
Leon’s voice was rough, but every word struck at the heart of the matter.
"Once Earth’s rebuilding begins, the Heavenly Demons, as parasites, will instinctively launch their most desperate attack."
Cheryl frowned slightly and could not help asking:
"A full attack? Will they all come out and start another Great Destruction?"
"No. This is not a conspiracy. It is instinct."
Leon raised one hand, and a shocking scene of clashing laws appeared in the air.
"This is an automatic conflict caused by incompatible laws. It is like a virus struggling desperately when the human immune system tries to destroy it."
"Once the reconstruction begins, the link between the Heavenly Demons and Earth’s old laws will be cut apart instantly."
"To survive, those at the top of the Abyss will do anything to tear this planet apart!"
The atmosphere in the hall froze at once.
A full counterattack by the Heavenly Demon Clan would be a world-ending disaster.
"Then we kill them."
A cold light flashed in Bella’s beautiful eyes as the terrifying pressure of a God King burst from her body.
