Chapter 395: The Empress Summons Him
Aiden did not waste a single word. He walked past Luke and headed straight for the private passage leading out of the hall.
Cheryl followed closely behind him. Her ice-crystal staff tapped against the floor, making a clear, crisp sound.
The imperial palace of the Great Shaw Empire was grand and magnificent.
On the white marble path, Aiden, dressed in black, walked calmly toward the very center of the empire’s power, as if he were taking a casual stroll.
Cheryl wore a deep blue battle Miko armor. Her beautiful face was filled with curiosity that she could not hide.
“So this is the territory of the human royal family? Compared to the rough style of the Abyss, it is much more refined.”
Her ice-blue eyes looked around. The level 75 icy aura of the Abyss that she gave off without realizing it made the Imperial Guards along the way feel as if they had fallen into an ice cave.
The civil and military officials on both sides all turned to look. Their eyes were full of shock and fear.
“That… that is the aura of a King-rank subordinate race from the Abyss?!”
“Aiden actually brought a high-level Abyss monster into the imperial palace? How outrageous!”
Facing the officials’ whispers, Aiden only raised his eyes slightly.
Boom!
A wild and overwhelming Legendary-rank pressure burst out, mixed with the fierce power of Golden Sunfire. In an instant, it swept across the entire area like a tsunami.
The temperature around them rose sharply. All the voices of discussion were forced back into the officials’ throats. No one dared to look directly at the sharp presence of the young man in black anymore.
Inside the imperial study, the smoke of ambergris incense rose slowly into the air, but it could not hide the suffocating killing intent in the room.
Empress Eira of the Great Shaw Empire sat behind a dark golden imperial desk.
She wore a formal robe embroidered with the Nine Symbols and a crown with twelve hanging pearl strings. Behind her, nine golden dragons of imperial fortune seemed to circle and roar faintly in the void.
Hearing the movement outside the hall, Eira slowly raised her head.
Her deep, beautiful eyes, which seemed able to see through people’s hearts, passed over Aiden and instantly locked onto Cheryl behind him.
Buzz—!
The mighty dragon aura of the Golden Dragon of National Destiny clashed violently in the air with the extreme cold of the Abyss Battle Miko.
Invisible force shook the room.
Waves of terrifying energy rippled through the imperial study, visible to the naked eye.
Cheryl let out a muffled groan. She felt as if a giant sacred mountain had been dropped onto her shoulders. She slammed her ice-crystal staff into the floor and barely managed to steady herself.
“Who is she?”
Eira’s voice was clear, distant, and full of authority. It carried the will of an empress—one that allowed no refusal.
Aiden took one step forward and waved his hand casually.
A burst of fierce Magic Mastery instantly cut off the clash between the two top-level powers.
“Cheryl. From the lower Abyss, of the Miko race. A Battle Miko.”
Aiden looked straight at the supreme Empress of the Great Shaw Empire. His tone was calm, but carried absolute dominance.”She is mine.”
A trace of deep shock and mixed emotions flashed in Eira’s eyes.
The races of the Abyss were proud, violent, and hard to control. And the Miko race was one of the higher races among them. Yet one of them had willingly submitted to a human boy?
But Eira was still the ruler of an empire.
She took a deep breath and, in an instant, regained her untouchable imperial dignity.
“You caused far more trouble in the Abyss than I expected.”
Aiden pulled over a rosewood chair without the slightest politeness and sat down boldly.
“The lower Abyss—Winterhold—is now completely under my control.”
“I supported Cheryl’s older sister, Rainn, and made her the new city lord.”
The moment he said this, Eira’s hand trembled sharply around the imperial brush.
A dark line of ink immediately cut across the white paper in front of her.
“And that’s not all. We entered the forbidden land of the Miko City.”
Aiden leaned back slightly. His voice carried a proud arrogance, as if he looked down on the whole world.
“We obtained the treasure of the Supreme Miko. And while we were at it, I killed that annoying Crow Miko.”,
As for the dark-gold scroll, Yves’s prophecy, and the ultimate truth of the system, Aiden kept them all hidden.
Those were his own trump cards—and perhaps humanity’s final trump cards as well. He could never reveal them so easily.
“The treasure of the Supreme Miko?!”
Eira suddenly stood up. The twelve pearl strings on her crown shook violently. Her beautiful face was filled with disbelief.
Even as the Empress, she had only read about that terrifying legacy in the empire’s most secret royal records. It was said to be powerful enough to change the entire balance of the Abyss.
Aiden did not waste any words. He gently brushed his finger over his space ring.
Clatter!
A dazzling light instantly lit up the whole imperial study.
More than a dozen Legendary-rank pieces of equipment, each giving off terrifying waves of law power, and over a hundred Mythic-rank materials were casually dumped in front of the imperial desk, as if Aiden were throwing out trash.
The magic elements and the aura of laws were so dense that the defensive formations inside the imperial study began to groan under the pressure.
Hiss—!
Even Empress Eira of the Great Shaw Empire, who had seen countless rare treasures in her life, could not help but take in a sharp breath.
With resources like these, one could arm an invincible army strong enough to sweep across Earth.
“And this is only the tip of the iceberg.”
Aiden casually tossed a Legendary-rank staff to Cheryl. Then his gaze became as sharp as a blade.
“Your Majesty, that is enough small talk.”
“I heard about the situation outside from Luke. The crack in the Golden Great Wall is getting bigger. This is not just the work of the Abyss Demon God.”
Aiden stood up and placed both hands on the imperial desk. He looked down at Eira with a powerful, overwhelming presence.
“If I want to repair the Golden Great Wall, I must get the Law Core.”
“And I believe that thing is very likely in the place filled with Inner Spirit fragments—the Ancient Battlefield!”
Eira’s expression instantly turned extremely serious. A look of determination flashed in her beautiful eyes.
“You guessed right. The military strategists reached the same conclusion.”
She took out a top-secret document stamped with the imperial seal and slammed it onto the desk.
“War God James has already led the First Legion to the outer edge of the Ancient Battlefield. They have set up the highest-level support formation there!”
“Aiden, I know the Ancient Battlefield is a death zone. Almost no one who enters comes back alive. It is filled with Wraithshards left behind by gods and Demon Gods. It is far more dangerous than the lower Abyss.”
Eira stared straight into Aiden’s eyes. She spoke word by word, with the madness of someone ready to risk everything.
“But as long as you can enter, the Great Shaw Empire will spare no cost to clear the way for you!”
The Golden Sunfire in Aiden’s eyes surged wildly. A cruel smile curved at the corner of his mouth.
“No need to clear the way.Anyone who stands in my path will be killed.”
He turned around, and his black coat cut a sharp line through the air.
“But before I go to the Ancient Battlefield, there are two things I need the Great Shaw Empire’s royal family to handle with full force.”
Eira said seriously, “Speak. As long as the Great Shaw Empire can do it, I will use the full power of the nation to help you.”
“First, completely investigate every hidden base and secret agent of the Evil Demons Guild. They have been far too active lately. Active enough to annoy me.”
The image of the missing little boy from The White City appeared in Aiden’s mind.
His eyes instantly turned as cold as absolute zero.
“Second, find out the full truth behind the missing persons case in The White City!”
“Anyone who dares touch my bottom line in the rear, no matter who they are, no matter which Emperor-rank or Imperial-rank power stands behind them…”
Boom!
Aiden stomped down and shattered the white marble floor of the imperial study.
A violent killing intent shot straight into the sky.
“I will make sure their Inner Spirit is completely destroyed!”
…
The next morning, the deep sound of the Nine Heavens Dragon Bell rang out above the Great Shaw Empire’s imperial palace.
The endless bell chimes echoed over the Sovereign City, announcing the start of the highest imperial court meeting.
Inside the Golden Throne Hall, civil and military officials stood in two lines on either side. The atmosphere was heavy and solemn.
Empress Eira of the Great Shaw Empire sat high on the dragon throne. Above her, nine Golden Dragons of National Destiny circled beneath the dome, releasing a world-shaking pressure.
Just then, steady and powerful footsteps came from outside the hall.
“Summon Aiden, hero of the empire and champion of the Global Exchange Tournament, to enter the court—!”
With the sharp call of the eunuch, a tall, slim figure in black stepped over the white marble threshold and entered the imperial hall.
Aiden’s expression was calm and indifferent. There was not the slightest fear or respect for imperial power in his deep eyes. He looked like a god walking through the mortal world.
Behind him followed a tall figure wrapped in a cold blue aura.
Cheryl held an ice-crystal staff in her hand. Frost covered her stunning face, and the Legendary-rank Battle Miko armor on her body released a bone-chilling cold.
As she entered, the temperature inside the Golden Throne Hall suddenly dropped to freezing point.
The faces of the civil and military officials on both sides changed at once. Countless shocked and wary eyes locked onto Cheryl.
She was from the lower Abyss, one of the strongest among the ordinary Abyss races—the Miko race!
And more than that, she was a level 75 Battle Miko!
“How dare you!”
A thunderous shout suddenly exploded inside the hall.
A thin old man in a purple court robe stepped out from the line of civil officials. He pointed straight at Aiden.
The old man was named August. He was one of the key figures of the conservative faction in the Great Shaw Empire. He had also once served under Felix, who had been thrown into death row the day before.
“Aiden, do you know your crime?!”
August’s eyes were wide with rage, and spit flew from his mouth. He looked like a loyal minister standing up for justice.
“This is the heart of the Great Shaw Empire’s power, yet you dared to bring an evil creature from the Abyss into the Golden Throne Hall!”
“You are insulting the dignity of the Great Shaw imperial family! You are trampling on the dignity of all mankind!”
August’s furious voice echoed through the huge hall, instantly stirring up the remaining members of the conservative faction.
“Lord August is right! This boy is far too arrogant!”
“The myriad races of the Abyss have a blood feud with humanity. What he has done is clearly a betrayal of the human race!”
“We beg Your Majesty to execute this Abyss creature on the spot, strip Aiden of all his honors, and throw him into the heavenly prison for strict questioning!”
More than a dozen conservative officials stepped out one after another. They knelt on the floor and accused Aiden with tears in their voices.
Every word was meant to destroy him. They wanted to use this chance to nail the young man who had brought down their faction leader to the pillar of shame.
Facing this group of clowns attacking him together, Aiden did not even pause for half a second.
He only turned his head slightly.
In his dark eyes, there was a trace of pity and mockery that made the soul tremble.
Boom!
A terrifying wave of magic power suddenly exploded inside the hall without warning!
