Chapter 135: Special Area, Sudden Attack, and Response
Chapter 135: Chapter 135: Special Area, Sudden Attack, and Response
It was weird!
Extremely weird!
In the Abyss, there might not be many things, but shadows were everywhere.
There wasn’t much light here, and it only took a little magic power to use Shadow Stealth.
But now, the shadows around him had disappeared!
“Damn it, what kind of Wraithshard is this Miko?” Aiden gritted his teeth. His magic power was quickly used up as he created a large shadowy area behind him.
“Human… human… witch… Miko.”
“Death.”
“It’s coming. It’s here.” The ghostly white voice spoke again, making sounds that were hard to understand.
Aiden felt his whole body go numb. This thing was too strange.
Luckily, with the appearance of the shadow area, he finally managed to enter the shadows.
Without any hesitation, Aiden used the burst dash that came with the Iron Dragon’s wings.
With the speed boost from Shadow Stealth, in the blink of an eye, Aiden had put a lot of distance between himself and the white Miko Wraithshard.
Looking back now, Aiden saw that the ghostly white Miko Wraithshard had reached the exact spot where he had just been.
If he had been even a second slower, he would have been face to face with her.
“Warning compass didn’t show anything. This thing’s level must be really high!”
“The danger of the Abyss can’t be ignored.” Aiden thought, his mind full of worries. If he had more time, he would definitely wait for the bad luck effect of Twin Coin to disappear before entering the Abyss for the Class Change mission.
But unfortunately, time was extremely precious for Aiden.
After escaping the danger, he found a hidden place and waited quietly for the Miko sisters to arrive.
Even though the area looked safe, he didn’t come out of the shadows. He stayed alert the whole time.
“If I use Twin Coin more times, I guess I would be always super careful and cautious no matter what.” Aiden thought, and he smiled and shook his head.
Time passed slowly. Soon, Cheryl and Rainn appeared in Aiden’s sight.
He waited a little while before using the Abyss message conch to contact Rainn.
Soon, Cheryl and Rainn arrived in front of him.
“Aiden, we meet again!” Cheryl smiled and greeted him.
Rainn’s eyes kept checking Aiden over, making sure he was fine before finally letting out a breath.
“The Miko people’s territory has many dangerous places. Even human Reclassers at level 90 can’t survive if they accidentally step in. Be careful, don’t…”
She didn’t finish her sentence. Suddenly, Rainn closed her mouth.
She felt like she had said too much, and was being too worried.
As for Cheryl, she didn’t sense anything wrong at all. She just stared closely at Aiden’s face and asked, confused.
“Why do you look more attractive than before? It’s hard to describe.”
“Uh, uh, let’s not talk about that. What was that Miko Wraithshard just now? It was so strange.” Aiden quickly coughed.
The reason Cheryl felt that way was because his hidden attribute of charm had increased.
Rainn pulled out a gray broom and gently threw it into the air.
The gray broom immediately turned into a large winged snake.
“Get on first. There’s also a Miko black robe and a Miko hat. Put them on, or if the other Miko sees you, it will cause a big problem.” Rainn threw the items to Aiden.
Aiden took them, glanced quickly, and put them on right away.
As a human, if he showed up in front of other Miko, he could imagine what would happen.
“Also, you’ll sit with me on the same flying snake. Try not to use your flying items or equipment.” Rainn said calmly.
Aiden nodded and sat behind Rainn.
To be honest, the gray snake wasn’t as uncomfortable as he thought. Its back scales felt like bird feathers—very soft and warm.
“You didn’t answer my question yet. Who is this Lilia Miko Wraithshard?” Aiden couldn’t help but ask again.
Rainn was facing away from him and answered in a low voice: “Lilia’s name first appeared in the Miko clan’s ancient records. But it said she was a powerful Divine Rank Miko. This Lilia is indeed the Wraithshard of a Venerable-level Miko.”
“This place is a forbidden area for the Miko clan. It has been for a long time—probably hundreds of years at least.”
“Grab on. We’re going to the Lost Miko City. We’ll rest there for the night, and then enter the Miko Temple tomorrow.” Rainn said quickly.
The gray snake below them suddenly flapped its wings and flew quickly toward the distance. Cheryl was riding another gray snake, following closely behind.
“What are you going to the Miko Temple for?” In the wind, Rainn suddenly asked.
“At this point, you’re asking me?” Aiden tried to smile and continued, “If it’s a temple, that means it’s really important to your Miko clan, right? What if I’m going to destroy it?”
Rainn looked back at Aiden, her eyes full of slight annoyance, and said quickly.
“The temple isn’t important at all for most Miko.”
“You must have reached level 40, and you’re doing a Class Change mission, right?”
“It’s been just a few days, and your speed is surprising.” Rainn said with a sigh.
Aiden said nothing. He was very close to Rainn, close enough to even feel her body heat.
After flying for about an hour, Rainn turned back, her expression serious, and said.
“There’s another forbidden area ahead, and we can’t go around it. Don’t move on your own later. Just stay on this flying snake.”
“Forbidden area?” Aiden’s eyes flashed with curiosity.
Rainn nodded and continued, “You’ll see soon. It’s a special area created by an extremely powerful Miko who was corrupted by a higher-level Abyss race, lost her mind, and killed herself.”
“Okay, hold on to me. We’re almost there.” Rainn’s voice trembled slightly—not from fear, but from a strange kind of tension.
She didn’t know where this tension came from.
Aiden didn’t think too much about it. He just opened his arms and wrapped them around Rainn’s body under the Miko robe.
Soft, thin waist, and Rainn’s body gave a slight shiver on its own. Aiden was a little surprised for a moment.
This feeling didn’t last long. Suddenly, a terrifying presence appeared.
Aiden quickly turned his head and looked ahead.
In the darkness, a huge number of tall trees stood silently on the ground, stretching as far as the eye could see.
These trees looked strange. They had no branches and were unusually straight.
“One more thing.” Rainn took a deep breath. “If you see something scary later, don’t look it in the eyes. That’s really important!”
She controlled the flying snake and kept rising higher.
As they got closer to the endless blackness, Aiden’s breath briefly stopped.
This wasn’t trees. These were giant, straight, thick tentacles!
These tentacles were exactly like the Taboo Tentacles he had met in the hidden realm, except these were much bigger—so big they looked like they could pierce the sky.
Each of these giant tentacles was covered with small, disk-like indentations. And in each of those indentations, there was a closed-eyed head.
Human heads, Demon heads…
“We’re high enough to avoid any strange movements from those tentacles below. If nothing goes wrong, we’ll be safe in three minutes.” Rainn whispered quietly.
When Aiden heard her words, he immediately thought of the bad luck effect of Twin Coin.
“Be careful. I’ve been having a lot of accidents lately.” Aiden had to remind her.
At that moment, Aiden, who was looking around and staying alert, suddenly noticed someone flying on a gray snake in front of them, to their right.
“Look.” Aiden pointed to Rainn.
Rainn’s face changed immediately. She spoke in a low voice, “They are other Miko who also have the chance to inherit the Primordial Miko power. We need to slow down. Don’t let them see us.”
“Probably it’s already too late.” Aiden saw a pale gray light flying toward them from the right.
Blacklight Ward!
Without hesitation, Aiden immediately cast the defensive skill and shouted to Cheryl behind him.
“Quick, follow us!”
Boom!
The gray-white light hit the Blacklight Ward directly, making a huge noise.
Aiden glanced at it and saw only a thin crack on the shield.
“The Miko who attacked us isn’t very high level.” Aiden quickly judged.
But Rainn’s face suddenly turned uneasy. She looked down at the thick, crowded giant tentacles immediately.
“Damn, these tentacles are awake!” Rainn muttered under her breath.
Aiden’s eyes flickered. He said quickly, “Your competitors aren’t here to play nice.”
Before Rainn could answer, the three closest thick tentacles suddenly stretched out and shot toward their gray giant snake below.
At the same time, a few more gray-white lights appeared.
“Hmph, Rainn, you can stay here. I will be the third Primordial Miko in a hundred years!” A bold voice came from far away.
Without hesitation, Aiden pulled out his Iron Dragon’s Magic Staff and quickly gathered a yellowish arrow in front of him.
He looked at Rainn and said quickly, “Don’t worry. I’ll deal with them. Just keep the flying snake under control.”
