Capítulo 2889: Chapter 1581: Exploration and True Identity (Part 2)
“Since they can’t break through the barrier on their own, perhaps I could exert some effort from this side.”
With this thought in mind, Leo Ray felt a surge of energy within him like a violent storm, greatly enhancing his five senses.
As expected, this time the silhouette began to become clearer. The figure was weak and thin, with deer antlers standing on top, unmistakably a Moon Shadow Deer Person.
However, unlike other deer people with tall, branched antlers, this frail figure’s antlers were clearly broken, leaving almost only the base standing on the head.
As the silhouette became clearer, the urgent voice also became more distinct: “Your Majesty of the Humans, please save us Moon Shadow Deer People!”
“This is precisely why I am attempting to reach out to you.”
Leo Ray nodded slightly and immediately asked, “What do I need to do?”
“Many thanks to Your Majesty of the Humans for your help!”
The frail figure replied quickly, with a joyous sobbing tone, “To be honest, where I am is the core of the Moon Shadow Array. As long as this area is destroyed, everything will fall into place!”
“The Moon Shadow Array? In your place?”
Hearing this somewhat puzzling statement, Leo Ray slightly furrowed his brows.
Our strongmen around him looked at each other in disbelief, as Leo Ray was evidently speaking across the void.
“I am at the core of the array; I will find a way to bring you all in!”
Just as the dialogue ended, an anomaly occurred.
Before Leo Ray and his team could react, the magic painting suddenly flashed brightly, and when their vision cleared, they found themselves in an exceedingly gloomy realm.
Here, all was silent, with one large and one small round moon suspended nearby overhead, while the surroundings were a starry sky filled with twinkling stars!
“Have we entered the magic painting depicting the Starry Sky before us?”
Lila exclaimed in surprise, her eyes wide open.
The other strongmen were similarly astonished, wearing expressions of disbelief.
“Hey, look over there!”
Moli tugged at Leo Ray’s robe, pointing behind them.
Following Moli’s finger, Leo Ray noticed something with astonishment.
Behind the group, there was a floating window in mid-air, and the scene outside the window was the splendid reception hall!
“Indeed, we have entered the magic painting; it’s simply unbelievable!”
Moli blinked her starry eyes, a bewildered expression appearing on her fair face.
“That’s not entirely accurate.”
A slightly timid and raspy female voice suddenly interjected, explaining, “Actually, this place is a Barrier Area designed to hide the core of the Moon Shadow Array!”
Upon hearing this unexpected voice, everyone became alert and instantly surrounded the speaker.
The speaker was a frail young female deer person, wearing a set of extremely shabby light yellow magic robes. The antlers on her head were noticeably broken, leaving only a small, jagged base.
She appeared to be gasping, her thin collarbone continuously rising and falling, with signs of mana exhaustion, evidently from the energy spent pulling them in.
Being surrounded by the menacing strongmen, her already sallow face turned pale as paper, frozen in place and unsure of what to do, even breathing became cautious.
“Who are you?”
Looking at her ragged clothing and thin face, Moli’s fair face was full of confusion.
Compared to other deer people dressed stylishly and reeking of wealth, this young deer person was like a beggar.
“She is the mysterious shadow.”
Leo Ray quickly recognized her voice, signalling the strongmen to step back slightly while introducing, “I previously heard her faint whispers multiple times, eventually deciphering the embedded plea ‘help us’. This led me to be certain she guided us here.”
He smiled at her, nodding to reassure her not to be too nervous.
“I exerted all my effort to deliver my voice to Your Majesty, after all, the Moon Shadow Array’s power was immense.”
The frail deer person gratefully looked at Leo Ray, nodding hastily in agreement, “If it weren’t for Your Majesty detecting the clues, choosing to interact with me, I’d likely never directly communicate with all of you.”
Upon hearing this, everyone seemed enlightened and nodded, realizing she wasn’t their foe.
However, it was clear that it was thanks to the monarch spotting the clues that led to their formal meeting.
While enlightened, everyone’s faces soon showed confusion.
This person’s aura was only the standard Tier 6; if she was the mysterious shadow, how could she elude several half-step Tier 7 experts?
“You mentioned that this is a Barrier Area?”
Moli furrowed her brows with a puzzled look, “But I didn’t feel any spatial energy wave at all.”
After Moli spoke, Bruce, also a space series expert, nodded in agreement, casting a perplexed gaze.
If it were a Barrier Area, even if skillfully hidden, they should have felt it upon entering.
“That’s the terrifying property of the Moon Shadow Array; it can perfectly shield your perceptions, even for many of you, extremely powerful half-step Tier 7 strongmen.”
The frail deer person nodded toward Moli, explaining, “Therefore, it’s no surprise you couldn’t sense this Barrier Area.”
“Is your silhouette flickering due to the Moon Shadow Array’s shielding?”
Leo Ray gently rubbed his chin, immediately pinpointing the issue.
“Your Majesty of the Humans is correct; I noticed your presence upon entering the tree-lined path outside the city. Despite adopting various means to communicate or physically contact you, there was no reaction.”
The frail deer person nodded affirmatively, responding, “Therefore, though I tried breaking through the Moon Shadow Array’s barrier to stand before you, just as I succeeded, I was screened by the array, only managing to deliver snippets to Your Majesty because of the utmost effort I expended.”
“So you disappeared like a ghost beyond the scope of normal half-step Tier 7 strongmen not due to exceptional skill or intent, but due to the Moon Shadow Array’s shielding?”
Leo Ray snapped his fingers, revealing the answer to his question.
The other strongmen nodded in realization, finally understanding why she, with merely Tier 6 skills, eluded their capture.
Yet their brows quickly furrowed tightly; if so, had they been influenced by the Moon Shadow Array since entering the deer people’s realm?
“As the monarch said, I continually attempted breaking through the barrier to communicate with you, but all efforts were futile.”
The frail deer person shook her head helplessly, then looked at Leo Ray with deep respect before continuing, “Fortunately, Your Majesty detected the information I conveyed, proactively arriving here and seeking to converse with me, thus enabling our meeting.”
“Not only is this place the array’s core, but it’s also where the array’s influence is weakest.”
The frail deer person took a deep breath before continuing, “In other words, only here can I communicate with you face-to-face!”
“If it’s the core of the array, shouldn’t it be the most influential, not the least? Also, what exactly is the Moon Shadow Array you’ve been mentioning?”
Moli tilted her head, utterly puzzled.
