Chapter 2726 1497: The Heroes' Astonishment (Part 2)
That’s precisely why the culture, customs, power systems, monetary systems, and even social structures of each sector are strikingly similar.
However, after enduring the Era of Blankness, the survivors have forgotten so much. All valuable reference histories have been destroyed, making it impossible to determine whether the land was shattered during the Era of Blankness or if it had been in this sector-fragmented state beforehand.
“Wait, I once extensively inquired about Taylor, Gideon Black, Scarlett, Serena Clark, Stella Clark, among others from different sectors, and even recently met brothers from the Young Family, learning quite a bit about their region.”
“The land they’ve inhabited is not only mapped differently than here, but also the terrain, the entire sector’s shape and size have noticeable distinctions, truly peculiar.”
“If these are truly parallel dimensions, why then are there such discrepancies? Considering this, perhaps the hypothesis of the whole land being fragmented is more reasonable, like scattered fragments everywhere, none being identical.”
Leo Ray felt his mind was a tangled mess, continuing to ponder.
Which is the correct answer? Or could both be true? Perhaps the sectors I know were all shattered, while the place I am now might be the actual parallel dimension?
“Things are certainly becoming increasingly intriguing; we better first figure out our current situation.”
Leo Ray collected his thoughts, addressing Old Book: “Sorry, Your Excellency, we’ve just arrived here and are still a bit unclear about the current situation.”
“Is this what Lord Brave means? It’s us who have neglected you all!”
Old Book quickly waved, responding: “We were all praying at the temple in the city center, listening to the deity’s words, which is why we didn’t welcome the brave ones immediately, hope you grant us pardon.”
“So that’s why; no wonder it looks like a deserted city.”
Leo Ray nodded slightly, as if lost in thought.
In previous years, the Silver Fire Kingdom witnessed a surge in Chosen Sons of God, and many devout human clan demigods completed their spiritual paths, entering the Divine Realm and becoming new deities.
Therefore, it’s not surprising that people still hold onto past traditions.
However, considering this, how come we don’t even sense a trace of life or popularity?
“Lord Brave, you might not know, this city is blanketed with formations blocking vitality and aura to fend off enemies; unless face-to-face, it’s incredibly challenging to sense others’ presence.”
Old Book subtly waved a hand, and the surrounding house walls and even the ground surface revealed numerous magic array patterns.
These formations densely covered every corner of the city, quickly disappearing without a trace.
“Such a sophisticated magic array, I didn’t detect anything.”
A gleam of astonishment passed through Moli’s starry eyes as she blurted out in disbelief: “It’s truly hard to imagine.”
“You flatter us, brave pink one. We merely set up these arrays; they were genuinely created by our deity!”
Old Book’s voice carried a hint of reverence, waving repeatedly.
“Godly magic left from ancient times? We have some ourselves.”
Moli pondered, nodded, stating: “Surprised you all preserved it so completely.”
Moli said so because the Divine Domain magic passed down by the Elf Tribe is mostly fragments, unable to be wholly executed. Even so, its intricacy is far beyond human reach.
“Ancient Divine Domain magic?”
Old Book looked at Moli in puzzlement, questioning: “Why say this, brave pink one? This magic array was recently imparted upon us by the Deity through the Divine Revelation Church, and since the Blank Era, our Deity has greatly graced us.”
“… What?!”
Upon hearing this, our group was stunned, then a collective uproar ensued.
According to the other side, has the deity never left this land but always cared for it? It’s simply incomprehensible!
In the shocked crowd, Leo Ray couldn’t believe his ears.
Since the Blank Era, it’s universally accepted that the deity ceased caring for this land, and all other sectors Leo had insights about agreed—there were no exceptions here, so how could this place constantly be under the deity’s care?
In astonishment, Leo Ray also noticed the Divine Grace Badge on Old Book’s chest, and similarly on several residents—clear signs they are all Chosen Sons of God!
“You all seem quite shocked, did I say something unexpected?”
Overlooking our amazed group, Old Book and other residents started exchanging bewildered looks.
“It’s nothing, just a difference in understanding between us.”
Leo Ray waved, striving for calmness.
Leo Ray centered himself, then asked: “Your Excellency City Lord, could it be that you named us brave ones because the deity informed you?”
“Exactly, the deity mentioned new brave ones would arrive today to help fight the dreadful enemies!”
Old Book solemnly nodded: “Honestly, Observation City stands on the brink of collapse; once those foes arrive, everything will be annihilated.”
His words cast gloom upon the residents, including a little girl clutching Old Nick’s robe, visibly scared.
“Enemies? Your Excellency City Lord, what kind of foes are they?”
Seeing this, Leo Ray furrowed his eyebrows, asking sharply.
“I won’t hide, our enemies are…”
Just as Old Nick was about to answer, a surge of energy waves rippled around, a group, bearing longbows and quivers, descended from the sky, landing in front of Old Book.
At the helm, a middle-aged general in silver light armor greeted Old Nick: “Salutations, City Lord; we discovered a group of silhouettes in the city! After one round of arrows, they quickly dispersed!”
“What’s even stranger, these silhouettes retroactively appeared; when approaching, they vanished again!”
“I suspect these dastardly tricks are employed by our enemies!”
After speaking, the general glanced at Leo Ray and his team, questioning: “City Lord, are these the brave ones? Eh? They resemble those silhouettes.”
“Watch your words, brave ones can’t be such tricks!”
Old Book frowned furiously, waving his robe sleeve: “Back away now!”
Seeing this, Leo Ray and Moli exchanged glances.
The situation described closely mirrors what we just encountered, only the perspective shifted—our team appeared as silhouettes.
Beyond that, our and their experiences were identical.
“Upon closer inspection, the warriors led by that middle-aged general indeed resemble the silhouettes seen before; could they truly have been them?”
Leo Ray contemplated deeply, musing internally: “Yet both sides turned each other into outlines, then vanished—what exactly are we dealing with here?”
“Ah, I know!”
Moli’s eyes sparkled, clearly realizing something.
