Capítulo 2461: Chapter 1361: Request and Surprise
“Your Majesty, what happened?”
In the ancient and elegant castle corridor, Leo Ray noticed Fanny’s odd behavior and asked in confusion.
“Returning to Your Majesty of the Humans, I have just received news that the Dragonborn have sent a group of emissaries, and those two Light Half-Elves have come again.”
An obvious hint of anger surged on Fanny’s face as she replied, “They are waiting outside the Royal Capital for an audience.”
Upon hearing this, the other Flower Fairy ministers all looked indignant.
It was precisely because of the news brought by those two Light Half-Elves that the Flower Fairies suffered heavy losses, and their strength was greatly affected. Who knew that now they would have the audacity to come alone.
“Quite the unexpected guests indeed.”
After listening to Fanny, Leo Ray appeared quite intrigued.
It should be noted that during last night’s exchange with the other side, our attitude was already very clear: under no circumstances would we relinquish the ore vein, even if it meant a bloody battle.
Under such circumstances, it was surprising that they would come as emissaries, knowing that there was no room for reconciliation. Initially, I thought they would continue to push with the Grand Army, trying to seize the ore vein.
“But since they’ve come to the Flower Fairies first, it cannot be ruled out that they aim to win over the Flower Fairies and disperse our strength.”
Thinking this over, Leo Ray nodded to Fanny and said, “Your Majesty, I understand your current feelings, but it’s best to first understand their intentions. They wouldn’t be here without reason.”
“Understood, Your Majesty of the Humans. I will arrange everything in the reception hall. Your Majesty and the others need only listen in from behind the scenes.”
As the Queen of the Flower Fairies, despite her anger, Fanny’s rationality quickly prevailed, and she began to make arrangements.
It didn’t take long for the Dragonborn and Light Half-Elf emissaries to appear in the Flower Fairy Castle Hall.
Among them were the young Light Half-Elf Ruth and the elder Light Half-Elf Mallen, as well as the Winged Prince Davis and Army Commander Nal, all familiar faces to us.
“Speak, what is your purpose here?”
From the towering throne, the crown on Fanny’s head glittered, and she spoke without expression.
“Please forgive our abruptness, Your Majesty of the Flower Fairies. We are here to explain everything to you, not to deepen any conflicts.”
Ruth’s delicate face showed a hint of urgency as she responded.
“Not to deepen conflicts? Easier said than done. If you hadn’t conspired with the Shadow Market and deliberately leaked the news of the ore vein, would we Flower Fairies have suffered such heavy losses?”
Fanny’s voice suddenly rose, questioning, “And now you want to brush everything off with a few words, isn’t that a bit too fanciful?”
After Fanny spoke, the hundreds of Flower Fairy ministers below her all glared angrily and let out cold huffs.
“Since Your Majesty has already deduced everything, we might as well lay it all out.”
Davis stepped forward and spoke bluntly, “Indeed, it was us who informed the Shadow Market about the ore vein and allowed them to deliver it to the Flower Fairies, Minotaurs, and Trolls in collaboration. But at the end of the day, the decision to covet and monopolize the ore vein was made by yourselves, wasn’t it?”
“What? Are you implying that we brought this upon ourselves?”
Fanny’s brows furrowed immediately, and faint veins stood out on her fair forehead.
“You’ve misunderstood, Your Majesty. The Winged Prince was merely stating the facts and had no intention of offending you.”
Ruth took the conversation and added, “We merely wish to have an open and frank discussion with you all.”
In a concealed spot in the Castle Hall, Leo Ray listened to the exchanges between Fanny and Ruth and others, his calm face showing no emotion.
As the saying goes, ‘In warfare, all is fair.’ I will not comment on the disputes, but it is certain that in this world of survival of the fittest, the only truth is strength.
“To be frank, Your Majesty, we anticipated that Your Majesty of the Humans and representatives of the other three Great Powers would also be here.”
Ruth maintained the appropriate respect for Fanny and further said, “We wish to discuss this matter with everyone present. Could Your Majesty grant us the convenience of having Your Majesty of the Humans join us?”
“What a joke. Your Majesty of the Humans deals with countless matters daily. Is it up to you to decide when to meet?”
Fanny snorted coldly, and although her tone remained sharp, she nodded to the female servant by her side.
Shortly thereafter, guided by the female servant, Leo Ray, along with Crisis, Broy, and Shuert, entered from the side door of the Castle Hall.
The current situation could not be more apparent. Since they wish to communicate with us all, there is no reason for us to avoid it.
Seeing Leo Ray’s tall figure stride in, Ruth’s starlit eyes immediately brightened, and she quickly bowed politely toward him.
Back at the Waterfall Watcher Fortress, Ruth had already noticed that Leo Ray was the core among everyone. This encounter was thus not surprising.
As Leo Ray made his presence known, Fanny also descended from the throne, quickly arranging a large conference table in the hall for Leo Ray to converse with the opposing party.
“Lady Ruth, Prince Davis, we meet again.”
