Chapter 129: Chapter 110: Zhou Qian in the Hospital

Five minutes later, Zhou Qian was lifted onto a field medical bed. The four large wheels underneath allowed it to move smoothly over the grassy Wilderness.

His brows were tightly knitted as he twitched in agony on the medical bed. The black spiderweb veins continued to spread once again; the higher they crept, the more tortured his expression became.

A group of people stood at the edge of the Rose Mansion. They looked at the Rose Corridor in the distance, which seemed to blot out the sky, and then at the frail and slender Huai Yu, their eyes full of disbelief and awe.

Eventually, someone spoke up. "I’ll come back in three days to hand over his personal effects and points."

"Then... we leave him in your care."

Huai Yu simply tightened her grip on the cart’s towing strap and thanked them.

"Thank you for your hard work. There are some dried locust flowers I prepared in the car. I originally wanted to give them to him, but now..." She forced a small smile. "There’s a lot in that bag. I hope you like them."

With that, she turned and left without looking back. In the distance, Rose petals fluttered down in the gentle breeze, cascading toward Huai Yu like snow.

The Defense Army soldiers and medical personnel, having just stepped into the territory, reached out to say something else, but the sharp edges of the petals swiftly brushed past the hems of their clothes. Everyone fell silent for a moment before quietly stepping back. They could only watch helplessly as Huai Yu’s figure, pulling the cart, gradually disappeared behind a gentle, low hill.

After a long while, they silently got into their vehicles.

On the other side of the hill, seeing that they were close to the house and out of sight from the people in the distance, Huai Yu tightened her grip on the towing strap and broke into a frantic sprint.

Zhou Qian’s body was still strapped to the cart to prevent him from falling off during his agonized struggles. But right now, without him even fighting against the restraints, his entire body was swaying wildly from side to side due to the rapid pulling, right up until Huai Yu pushed the flatbed field medical cart to the door.

"Zhou Qian, Zhou Qian, Zhou Qian, Zhou Qian!!!"

Huai Yu’s voice was frantic and desperate. With trembling hands, she fished out the round ball that Ke Taichiro had used to scare the spiders from her pocket and shoved it directly into Zhou Qian’s mouth. After a moment’s thought, she pulled it back out, crushed it forcefully, and poured it back into his mouth.

Having done this, she didn’t even have time to check on the black spiderweb veins that were still rapidly creeping upward. Instead, she rushed straight into the house and poured out all the Klang Balls from the glass jar. After a frantic scramble, she managed to sort out the colorful Celery-leaved buttercup Balls.

She first tossed one into a kettle. Watching the colorful ball gradually dissolve into a murky hue in the water, she grabbed a cup, rushed back out, and poured it directly down the throat of the agonized, unconscious Zhou Qian—

"PFFT... COUGH, COUGH, COUGH..."

The sedative dosage in the painkillers was too high. Even though he was choking and coughing violently, Zhou Qian merely gasped for breath without fully waking up. His Adam’s apple bobbed up and down as he was forced to finish the entire cup of water, swallowing the residue of the Celery-leaved buttercup Ball along with it.

Huai Yu threw down the cup, turned around, and grabbed one, two, three... more balls, tossing them into a water basin. After furiously stirring them with a SPLASH and a SWISH, she brought the basin straight to Zhou Qian’s side, scooping up handfuls of water and splashing it over his face.

As she splashed him, she babbled incessantly, "Zhou Qian, Zhou Qian, Zhou Qian! Wake up! Please wake up! Is this working? This has to work, right?

"Our Ke Taichiro is so amazing. It definitely works, right...

"If you don’t wake up after making such a mess, I won’t know how to clean this up..."

Without realizing it, Huai Yu had gradually recovered from the despair that had gripped her at the hospital. Her mind now harbored a rare calmness, though her voice still trembled uncontrollably. "Ke Taichiro! Ke Taichiro! Come look at this! Am I using this ball right?"

Ke Taichiro had wandered off somewhere and was nowhere to be seen for the moment. But as Huai Yu splashed water and observed him, she briefly paused her movements. She didn’t know if it was just her imagination, but the black spiderweb veins that had spread all the way to his cheekbones hadn’t seemed to move for quite a while.

She thought, "It’s working!!!"

Ecstatic, she splashed another basin of water over Zhou Qian’s face, then rushed back into the house, grabbed a towel, soaked it, and slapped it directly onto his skin. Seizing the moment, Huai Yu ran back inside to start a fire and boil some water. Then she dragged out a bathtub and tilted it, laying it flat on the ground.

Finally, she dragged the heavy Zhou Qian into the tub, then exerted a Herculean effort to wrestle the bathtub upright again.

Amidst waves of dull, throbbing pain, Zhou Qian groaned in a daze. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t open his eyes. All he could hear was Huai Yu’s frantic calling echoing in his ears:

"Zhou Qian, Zhou Qian, Zhou Qian, Zhou Qian, Zhou Qian..."
