Everyone Fought for Weapons, I Planted Bean Sprouts
Chapter 116 - 105: Seven-color Taichiro
Chapter 116: Chapter 105: Seven-color Taichiro
Huai Yu looked at Ke Taichiro, suddenly feeling curious. "Do you take any old leaves, branches, and garbage, or do you need specific fresh leaves?"
This part of the Wilderness had been cleared before; aside from wild grass, there wasn’t much else. There was a small grove not far away with some rotting trees, but it was frightfully empty. It’d be tough to even find a mushroom there.
Huai Yu thought for a moment, suddenly struck by inspiration. "How about... you come with me to Sanqing Mountain tomorrow!"
The mountain had everything. She should be able to find what Ke Taichiro truly liked.
Ke Taichiro couldn’t understand such a complicated question. It only knew that Huai Yu was talking to it. Subconsciously clutching a brand new, grape-sized ball, it stood up straight and gave its wings a little flutter.
Huai Yu froze for a second, then burst into laughter.
Ke Taichiro’s interactivity was truly unbeatable! With this kind of companionship, no matter how weird it looked, it would eventually be accepted.
She grabbed her basket and headed to the bamboo forest, bringing Ke Taichiro along. "Kuang Biao, Big Pup, Second Pup! We have a new guest in our home!"
As the words fell from her lips, she couldn’t help but pause.
"Our home..."
Huai Yu pondered over it. It felt like she had a bustling family now. How wonderful!
Big Pup and Second Pup waddled over. They were now even taller than Ke Taichiro. Although they completely lacked the fluffy cuteness of normal goslings, after looking at them for so long, they actually had an ugly-cute charm to them. At the very least, Huai Yu was already used to it.
"HONK HONK HONK..."
They strolled through the bamboo forest and now approached Ke Taichiro, gently tapping its smooth, hard shell with their flat bills.
Huai Yu’s heart leapt into her throat! She was terrified that if she didn’t react fast enough, Big Pup and Second Pup would stab it again. Fortunately, they were very sensible. They quickly retracted their necks, sized Ke Taichiro up with their dark, round eyes, and lightly padded off to the side to play.
Ke Taichiro remained silent. It looked down at the scattered bamboo shoot husks, leaves, and twigs on the ground, spun around in two circles, and swiftly dropped to its belly.
Huai Yu crouched down curiously to observe. She saw Taichiro using all six of its legs to rake the debris into a little pile before stuffing it directly into its mouth. Its strange, insectoid mouth chewed non-stop. Before long, it spat out a pile of chewed-up residue.
Its two front claws nimbly rubbed together, quickly rolling that residue along with other bits into a soybean-sized ball. As its mouth kept moving, its front claws never stopped rolling the ball. It was already visibly expanding layer by layer from its original soybean size.
At this moment, Huai Yu’s expression was exceptionally complicated. She didn’t even dare to imagine Uncle Zaozi’s intoxicated look when he drank the tea.
But... Ke Taichiro wasn’t eating poop right now anyway, right? If people could drink civet coffee, why couldn’t they drink the balls Taichiro rolled? This was sheer prejudice!
She stared at Taichiro for a while, then took a deep breath and quickly turned her head away. Boss Tang was right to pass on making this kind of money; this cash was truly too hard to stomach...
Just then, the bamboo leaves rustled. Kuang Biao seemed to have woken up. "What kind of thing did you pick up this time... Tsk, don’t just bring any random thing into my bamboo forest.
"I am the supreme Kuang Biao—OUCH!" A pacing gosling nearby had stretched its neck out, its flat bill directly snapping down another bamboo stalk.
Kuang Biao was speechless.
Huai Yu couldn’t help but hold out her arms. "Big Pup, Second Pup! Mommy loves you guys so much—come give me a hug!"
The two sea urchin geese rushed over, their feet going PATTER PATTER PATTER. As long as Huai Yu stroked their sharp, urchin-like feathers in the right direction, they wouldn’t prick her. Instead, they nestled into her embrace with extraordinary docility.
"HONK HONK HONK..."
That sense of happiness was truly, incredibly wonderful.
"Wow..." Huai Yu was entranced. "The feeling of being unconditionally favored is just so nice."
The next moment, Taichiro silently walked over as well, offering up a bright green ball with its two front claws.
Huai Yu instinctively reached out. Taichiro gently placed the green ball in her hand, then stared at her without moving a muscle.
She hesitated for a second before softly saying, "Then... thank you, Taichiro? Our Ke Taichiro is very cute too."
Ke Taichiro stood there reservedly. Its back carapace lifted, revealing the thin yellow wings underneath. After a quick flutter, it turned around in satisfaction.
Huai Yu was left speechless.
A moment later, she grabbed a bamboo branch. "Taichiro, I’m going to extract Bamboo Heart Tea here, so go play by yourself! Roll whatever you want, just don’t play with poop!"
She looked back at the two goslings. They were also thoughtfully stretching their necks forward, seemingly wanting to snap the bamboo stalk she was holding. Huai Yu hurriedly stopped them.
"Let’s not stab this one for now. Kuang Biao is already getting a bit bald lately... Big Pup, Second Pup, we have to practice sustainable development!"
Heaven have mercy! Kuang Biao had dominantly taken over such a massive plot of land overnight, and its bamboo had originally grown so densely that not even the wind could pass through! Inside, it had been dark and damp, completely blocking out the daylight. This was all so it could totally dominate the territory and ensure not a single blade of grass grew inside the bamboo forest.
But what about now?
Leaving aside how much space the large shack in the center of the bamboo forest took up, just the fact that the canopy was now letting in streaks and patches of daylight showed just how bald it had gotten.
How tragic and lamentable! It was such good bamboo. If only it didn’t have a mouth.
Huai Yu was in quite a good mood. She sifted through the stalks one by one, leisurely extracting Bamboo Heart Tea for the entire afternoon. As for the snapped bamboo stalks, they wouldn’t go to waste. She would drag them back later; after some chopping and whittling, she could build a new little house for Taichiro. She even had the bamboo leaves to pad the floor. How perfect!
Kuang Biao was truly worth the hours of grueling effort she spent dragging it back in the dead of night!
***
By evening, Huai Yu had extracted another full basket of Bamboo Heart Tea. Upon returning home, she discovered a pile of colorful balls stacked by her front door.
Red, yellow, blue, purple, green...
None of the colors were perfectly pure. Instead, the round balls were laced with wispy lines and specks, as if they were rolled from a mixture of different materials. Truth be told, they were actually quite pretty.
At the very least, Huai Yu couldn’t resist them at all!
Even though she had seen with her own eyes how Ke Taichiro rolled its balls, she immediately wanted a large glass jar to carefully collect them all. Piled together in various shades and hues, they looked like someone had plucked a rainbow from the horizon and crumpled it up.
Ke Taichiro hadn’t returned yet. She dug through her inventory and found a glass pickle jar that had been emptied, washed, and dried just a few days ago.
As she placed the Klang Balls into the jar one by one, Huai Yu picked up a light purple ball and examined it curiously.
"What on earth was this rolled out of? Could Taichiro’s true Superpower be ’Seven-color Taichiro’?"
Faintly, the ball even gave off a trace of floral fragrance.
