Chapter 226: Chapter 132: A Three-Person Date
They made small talk, and soon the food arrived. The two of them continued chatting as they ate.
Su Ran: "The break starts the day after tomorrow. Are you heading home then?"
Shen Qingning: "Mhm, I bought a train ticket for 2 PM the day after tomorrow."
Su Ran: "I’ll see you off then."
"Thank you, Class Monitor." Shen Qingning hesitated for a moment. ’The break is about to start, and I haven’t even had a chance to hang out with the Class Monitor properly,’ she thought. ’He’s always the one taking care of me.’ She then took three tickets out of her bag and said, "Class Monitor, a friend of my store manager just opened a new escape room. She gave me three tickets and asked me to help her friend promote it. Do you like escape rooms? If you do, we could go check it out later?"
Su Ran looked at the tickets and chuckled. "An escape room? I hear they’re pretty scary. The girls get frightened and jump right into the guys’ arms. You’re trying to jump into my arms, aren’t you?"
"Then let’s not go," Shen Qingning said, about to put the tickets back in her bag.
"Haha, just kidding. I’ve never tried one either. Let’s go check it out later."
"Alright, then."
Just then, Su Ran’s phone rang. It was Xiao Wanqing.
"Hello?"
"Su Ran, where are you? I came to your university and looked all over for you, but I couldn’t find you. I asked a few people, and they said they saw you leave in a Mercedes. When did you buy a Mercedes?"
"A long time ago. I also bought a villa." As Su Ran talked, he habitually placed food into Shen Qingning’s bowl, piling it high.
"Impressive. You’re rich now. Come pick me up. I’m at the university entrance."
"You came all this way without a word? What’s with the surprise? Hang on."
Su Ran hung up and said to Shen Qingning, "Qingning, a friend of mine is here. It’s the girl from the video call misunderstanding last time. Do you remember?"
Shen Qingning shook her head. "I don’t remember. If there was a misunderstanding, you should hurry and bring her over so we can clear it up."
Su Ran: "Okay, I’ll go get her... Oh, perfect, three tickets. I’ll take two for now. My friend and I will meet you for the escape room later. You go ahead and eat. My friend doesn’t like spicy food. See you at the escape room."
Shen Qingning watched Su Ran leave and continued eating. ’Finally, I can ask the owner for another bowl of rice,’ she thought.
Of course, Shen Qingning didn’t have a god’s-eye view. How could she have known that a girl she met on the bus was the one looking for her Class Monitor? After all, so many students from other universities visited every day.
...
The evening rush hour traffic was heavy. Su Ran hailed a cab to the university. It was warm inside the car, but frigid outside.
Xiao Wanqing stood at the university entrance by the side of the road, holding a small cake box and shivering from the cold.
Nearly twenty minutes later, the taxi pulled over. Su Ran got out and saw Xiao Wanqing once again. It had been a while since they last met. She had gotten even prettier, her skin even fairer. At nineteen, she seemed to grow more beautiful, more perfect, every day.
"Su Ran," she said softly, a smile spreading across her face. "Surprised?"
Su Ran walked up to her, seeing that her face was red from the cold. "What kind of surprise is this? What if my phone had been off? You wouldn’t have been able to find me." He reached out and touched her cool cheek, feeling a little moved in spite of himself. "Come on, get in the car."
The moment she got in the car, Xiao Wanqing felt the warmth. She rubbed her hands together. "I was freezing my butt off out there. Feel my hands, I think I’m about to get frostbite."
Su Ran took her hands. They were indeed quite cold. He put his other arm around Xiao Wanqing, pulling her close. With a feminine grace, she leaned her head on his shoulder.
"Su Ran..." She lifted her head, her pretty face just inches away, filled with a longing from their time apart. "Are you happy I came?"
Her every breath caressed his cheek. Looking at her soft, pink lips, Su Ran said, "Of course I’m happy. Why did you come alone?"
She snuggled closer and wrapped her arms around his waist, not caring if the driver was peeking. She said softly, "A relative of mine from Shaanxi passed away a few days ago. My parents and I went to the funeral yesterday. I figured since Shaanxi is close to Jiangning, I’d come see you."
"My condolences."
"You..."
She lifted her head, bit her lip, and beckoned him closer with her finger. She whispered in his ear, "Su Ran, I’m starting to think your hands have Magic. I’ve noticed I’m about to need a D-cup."
Su Ran’s gaze lingered for a moment on her round wool sweater. "Hm, that’s pretty good," he said. "Has your... condition improved at all recently?"
"Much better. The doctor said you’re amazing. He praised how good you are at... clearing things up. That’s why my mastitis is getting better." ℯℯ𝑙.
"Then should I help you clear things up again tonight?"
"No."
"When a girl says ’no,’ she really means ’yes’."
"You..."
She just leaned on Su Ran’s shoulder like that, chattering away about things that had happened with the four of them back in Shanghai.
Su Ran kept one arm around her fragrant shoulders, while his other hand rested on her thigh, taut against her tight jeans. He was naturally very fond of a long-legged beauty like Xiao Wanqing. Meeting her again and again recently, he found she was becoming more and more womanly. She had shed much of her girlish goofiness and gained a lot of feminine charm. ’Mmm, she’s matured,’ he thought.
The car stopped at a Cantonese restaurant. Su Ran led Xiao Wanqing inside by the hand and ordered a few dishes for her. Occasionally, Xiao Wanqing would also pick up a tasty morsel and feed it to Su Ran.
"...Remember that girl you saw leaning on my shoulder during our video call last time?"
"I couldn’t even see who it was. What, are you dating her now?" Xiao Wanqing asked, holding her chopsticks in her mouth.
Su Ran smiled. "No, she’s just a classmate. I was actually eating with her when you called. I was going to bring you over to eat with us, but since you don’t really like spicy food, I brought you here instead. After we finish eating, I’ll take you to meet my classmate."
