Chapter 206: Chapter 206: Shura Field: Can’t Handle the Wife, So Let’s Fight

Yun Sheng was left speechless by Xing Che’s words. She opened her mouth, about to speak.

From behind her, Si Jin’s voice rang out again, a few degrees deeper than before.

"Xing Che, let her go."

This time, Xing Che finally turned around.

He tilted his head, looking at the figure standing in the darkness behind them. The corners of his lips curved slightly, but the smile held no warmth.

"And why should I?" His voice was level, laced with a casual provocation. "Shengsheng has already agreed to let me be her Sentinel. What’s wrong with me holding her?"

Si Jin didn’t say a word.

The night wind blew from behind him, making the hem of his clothes flap noisily.

His face was hidden in the shadows, his expression unreadable, but his blue eyes were grim, like dark clouds gathering before a storm.

Seeing this, Yun Sheng’s heart pounded even harder. She gave Xing Che a forceful shove and finally managed to break free from his embrace.

She took two steps back to create some distance, then took a deep breath and looked at Si Jin.

Meeting those beautiful yet somber blue eyes, she felt an inexplicable sense of guilt.

Si Jin looked back at her and asked blankly, "Is what he said true?"

Yun Sheng froze for a moment. Before she could answer, Xing Che had already cut in.

"Of course it’s true. Shengsheng personally agreed to let me be her Sentinel. I told you before. What, did you really think I was lying to you?"

Si Jin didn’t look at him, his gaze fixed solely on Yun Sheng.

"Is that so?"

His voice was soft, but his gaze was scorching. He just stared at Yun Sheng, stubbornly waiting for her to confirm it herself.

Yun Sheng opened her mouth. The word "yes" rolled around on the tip of her tongue, but she couldn’t bring herself to say it.

She remembered how Si Jin had protected her all this time, and how she had promised him that he would be her only Sentinel.

’But then I turned right around and agreed to Xing Che’s request, and in my dream, with Bai Ye...’

Thinking of all this, she was left speechless.

Si Jin watched her struggle, his fists clenching and unclenching. After a moment, he let out a soft sigh.

He slowly walked over to Yun Sheng. When he reached her, he suddenly reached out and gently took her hand.

His fingers were cool to the touch. His grip wasn’t heavy, but it was firm, as if he would never let go.

"If it’s difficult for you, then you don’t have to say it."

Yun Sheng looked up, meeting his blue eyes.

There was no accusation in them, no blame—only a kind of acceptance so gentle it was almost unbearable.

Her nose suddenly tingled, and her fingers curled instinctively, gripping his hand in return.

At that, Si Jin turned back to face Xing Che.

"I won’t interfere with Yun Sheng’s decision. But if you want to stay by her side, you’ll have to beat me first." He paused, then said through gritted teeth, word by word, "If you can’t beat me, you have no right to stay with her."

Xing Che raised an eyebrow. There was no fear in his amber-gold eyes; instead, they brightened, as if he had been waiting a long time for those words.

"Alright, then. Let’s fight."

The night wind suddenly died down.

The air seemed to freeze, so heavy it was hard to breathe.

Si Jin slowly released Yun Sheng’s hand, took a step forward, and locked his gaze on Xing Che.

His spiritual power was already beginning to gather, his aura as heavy as a mountain.

Not to be outdone, Xing Che let his own spiritual power flow into his palms, his amber-gold eyes churning with battle lust.

Yun Sheng stood rooted to the spot, looking from Si Jin to Xing Che and back. Finally, she couldn’t help but speak. "You two..."

"Yun Sheng, stay out of this," Si Jin interrupted, still looking at Xing Che. "Let’s go over there."

He jutted his chin toward the open flatland outside the camp.

’Two SSS-level Sentinels fighting here would tear the whole camp apart!’

Xing Che nodded eagerly, even winking deliberately at Yun Sheng with a smug grin on his face.

"Don’t worry, Shengsheng. I’ll be back after I beat him. And I’ll want another hug then."

The moment the words left his mouth, the aura around Si Jin dropped precipitously.

His blue eyes roiled with a murderous intent so thick it was almost tangible. Spiritual power surged from his body like a tide, emitting a low hum in the night wind.

Xing Che raised an eyebrow, a visible halo of light appearing around his body.

The two figures vanished from their spots almost simultaneously, streaking toward the open flatland outside the camp.

Yun Sheng was about to follow when she suddenly felt a warm touch by her feet.

The little wolf had appeared at her side at some point. It took the leg of her pants in its mouth and gave a gentle tug backward.

Its deep blue eyes looked up at her as if to say, ’Don’t go.’

At the same time, a silver-gray shadow leaped gracefully from the direction Xing Che had disappeared, landing on her other side.

The Mili tilted its small head up, its sparkling eyes glancing at Yun Sheng before it reached out with its two little paws, wrapped them around her calf, and clung on.

Yun Sheng looked down at the little wolf refusing to let go of her pant leg on her left, then at the Mili hanging from her leg on her right, and didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

"You two..."

She had just started to speak when the Mili let out a SQUEAK and tightened its grip.

The little wolf also nudged its head against her leg, letting out a soft, pleading whimper from its throat.

Yun Sheng tried to take a step forward, but the two spiritual bodies pulled in unison.

The little wolf bit down harder, while the Mili simply hung its entire body from her leg, heavy as a fluffy paperweight.

The force of their pulling made Yun Sheng stagger, and she almost lost her footing.

"Alright, alright, I won’t go."

She sighed helplessly. Worn out by their antics, she simply sat down right where she was.

The Mili immediately let go of her leg, scrambled onto her lap in a few quick bounds, and curled up in a comfortable spot.

The little wolf also released her pant leg and padded over to her side, its body expanding slightly.

Its already warm back grew wider and thicker, perfectly supporting Yun Sheng’s shoulders and back, allowing her to lean against it securely and comfortably.

Yun Sheng closed her eyes, her fingers idly stroking the Mili’s fur. It was soft and smooth, like a high-quality velvet blanket.

’Fine, I won’t go. It’s not like I could stop them anyway. I’ll just wait for those two idiots to finish their fight and come back on their own.’

’Come to think of it, I am a little curious who will win.’

’Oh, whatever. I don’t care who wins, as long as they don’t get hurt.’

From the distant flatland, waves of spiritual power pulsed, sometimes strong, sometimes weak, like faraway thunder rolling in the night wind.

An unknown amount of time passed before the fluctuations gradually subsided, finally fading into complete silence.

After a while, footsteps sounded, approaching step by step.

It was Si Jin.

He strode over, bent down, and scooped Yun Sheng up from the ground into his arms.

Yun Sheng was held so tightly she was smothered, unable to speak. All she could feel was the heartbeat so close to her own—fast and heavy, thudding against her chest until it ached.

It wasn’t until Si Jin loosened his grip slightly that she could lift her head to look at him.

His expression betrayed no emotion—no triumphant pride from winning, no dejection from losing. He just looked at her, his gaze intense, as if trying to absorb her entire being with his eyes.

Yun Sheng glanced behind him. Xing Che hadn’t followed.

Her curiosity grew, and she asked instinctively, "Did you win? Did Xing Che leave?"
