Chapter 178: Chapter 178: You Came On to Me and Touched Me, You Have to Take Responsibility

Xing Che’s breath caught.

The spiritual power that had forcefully invaded him was completely different from what he had experienced before.

The last time, Yun Sheng’s spiritual power had been soft and warm. Even when it had proactively entwined with his, it had been cautious.

But this time, it was exceptionally domineering.

Like countless fine threads, the spiritual power instantly pierced the outer barrier of his spiritual landscape and reached deep inside.

Xing Che’s body tensed abruptly.

The sensation was too strange.

Those threads of spiritual power roamed through his spiritual landscape, gently brushing every corner, like a feather sweeping across the most sensitive nerve endings.

It was both itchy and unbearable.

His breathing quickly became ragged, and his hand around Yun Sheng’s waist tightened subconsciously.

"You..."

Xing Che’s voice was incredibly hoarse. He managed only a single word before he couldn’t speak any further.

Because that spiritual power was swirling in the most sensitive depths of his spiritual landscape.

It felt like a deliberate tease, yet also an unintentional provocation.

His Adam’s apple bobbed violently, and the hand around her waist tightened again. He was completely enveloped by the unfamiliar, tingling numbness, unable to move.

Yun Sheng had originally just wanted to turn the tables on Xing Che, to teach him a lesson and show him she wasn’t someone to be trifled with.

But she never expected that his spiritual landscape... would also have so many fissures.

The fissures were fine and small, densely scattered everywhere. Though they couldn’t compare to the shocking cracks in Bai Ye’s and Si Jin’s landscapes, they were still startling enough.

It was as if they had been repeatedly torn apart by something, only to slowly heal over, leaving behind faint scars.

Xing Che sensed her hesitation. He looked down at her, the dazed look in his eyes not yet faded, but his voice had steadied somewhat.

"See them? Surprised?"

Yun Sheng looked up, meeting his gaze. "Is this..."

"Old injuries," he said nonchalantly, as if discussing something trivial. "Accumulated over many years."

Yun Sheng opened her mouth, but didn’t know what to say.

Although the fissures were small, there were too many of them, and they were too widespread. If left unattended, they would one day shatter completely, just like Si Jin’s.

Xing Che looked at her complex expression and suddenly let out a soft chuckle.

"What, does your heart ache for me?"

Yun Sheng shot him a glare. "Who’s aching for you!"

As she spoke, she moved to withdraw her spiritual power.

"Don’t go."

Xing Che immediately spoke to stop her, his voice carrying a trace of softness that Yun Sheng had never heard before.

Then, the spiritual power within his spiritual landscape surged toward her in a ceaseless stream.

It wrapped around her own spiritual power, tightly and densely, refusing to let her leave.

Yun Sheng’s heart trembled, and she furrowed her brow slightly.

The power that belonged to Xing Che was slowly seeping into her spiritual landscape along with their entwined spiritual energies.

It was a power completely different from that of Si Jin or Bai Ye.

Si Jin’s power was violent and scorching, carrying a passion to destroy everything.

Bai Ye’s power was sacred and immense, carrying an inviolable majesty.

And Xing Che’s...

It was cool, so cool it made her shiver. But within that coolness hid a certain ineffable tenderness, a tenderness so profound it made one involuntarily want to drown in it.

As the entwined spiritual powers tightened their embrace, Yun Sheng’s consciousness began to blur.

The body is more honest than the mind.

She subconsciously pressed closer to Xing Che, wanting to be nearer to the power that felt so pleasant.

Sensing her approach, the spiritual powers wrapped around her even more joyfully.

Yun Sheng’s eyelashes trembled slightly, a faint flush creeping onto her cheeks. Her entire body went so soft it seemed she would melt in Xing Che’s arms.

At some point, her hand had found its way to his chest.

Through the thin fabric, she could feel the temperature of his chest—cool, yet faintly tensing at her touch.

Xing Che’s body jolted.

He looked down at the person in his arms, at her dazed and muddled state as she proactively pressed against him. The color of his eyes darkened alarmingly.

Her hand was still causing mischief, sliding up from his chest, over his collarbone, past the side of his neck, and finally stopping at his jaw.

Xing Che’s Adam’s apple bobbed violently.

A wave of unprecedented heat surged through him, and a certain part of him began to tighten uncontrollably.

The next second, he reached out and seized Yun Sheng’s mischievous hand.

His other hand rose to pinch her small, delicate chin, lifting her face and forcing her to meet his gaze.

"Weren’t you just telling me to let go, to conduct myself with dignity? Why so forward now?"

Yun Sheng blinked. Her eyes were still hazy, as if she hadn’t fully regained her senses.

Seeing this, Xing Che’s Adam’s apple bobbed again.

"You..." His voice dropped lower, tinged with a hint of jealousy he himself didn’t notice. "Did you tease those two War Gods like this before?"

He had never been close with any guide, nor had he ever accepted comfort from anyone.

Before, he had only been curious about Yun Sheng, finding her interesting and wanting to figure out her secrets.

He never thought he would end up in this dreamscape, and he certainly never thought he would actually be affected by her teasing.

Teased to the point that his heart itched, he was now a little reluctant to let go.

His question finally shocked Yun Sheng into a clearer state of mind.

She blinked, meeting Xing Che’s dark eyes, then glanced down at her own posture—pressed against him, her hand touching him. Instantly, her face and even the roots of her ears turned so red it looked as if they might bleed.

"I..."

She opened her mouth, wanting to explain, but found she had no idea how.

’She had indeed... lost a little control just now.’

That power felt too good—so good that she forgot to resist, wanting only to draw in more.

Xing Che watched her flustered and annoyed expression, his thumb gently stroking her chin. "Why have you gone quiet? Weren’t you quite forward just a moment ago?"

Yun Sheng bit her lip, trying to forcefully pull back the hand he was gripping.

But while his grip wasn’t heavy, it was firm, and she couldn’t pull away at all.

"Let me go."

Xing Che didn’t move.

He watched her cheeks, flushed with shame and anger; he watched her slightly trembling eyelashes; he watched the way she bit her lower lip, looking both furious and helpless against him.

An indescribable sense of satisfaction surged swiftly through his heart.

"I won’t. When you were touching me earlier, why didn’t you think to ask me to let go then?"

Yun Sheng was choked speechless by his words.

’Who could she blame? She really had been all over him just now...’

Seeing her adorable appearance, Xing Che suddenly lowered his head.

His warm breath brushed past her lips, carrying a hint of a smile.

"You proactively pressed against me and touched me. You have to take responsibility."

Yun Sheng’s eyes went wide.

"Take responsibility? Responsibility for what?"

Xing Che looked at her, the picture of innocence.

"What do you think?"

His question made Yun Sheng’s head ache.

’How can this person be such a rogue!’

She took a deep breath and was about to retort when the surrounding gray mist suddenly began to churn violently.

Xing Che’s brow furrowed. He could clearly see Yun Sheng’s body slowly starting to turn transparent.

"It seems you’re about to wake up."

Yun Sheng secretly breathed a sigh of relief. ’I’m finally waking up! If I didn’t wake up soon, I feel like I’d really be in trouble!’

Seeing her obvious look of relief, Xing Che leaned in even closer, his thin lips brushing against her ear.

"Don’t celebrate too soon. The next time we meet, I’ll want more than just this."
