Chapter 1513: Trial of Sin! (1)
At this moment, Ace’s body was dragged mercilessly while enveloped in the pulling force; it was as if he were dragged through the abyss.
Furthermore, Ace instantly noticed something strange as his expression became solemn, ’Why can’t I feel any trace of space or time? Isn’t this a teleportation? No, this place seemed to be deeper than space as if…without direction, without edges…’
Ace made his assessment through his senses, honed by many profound laws, especially with his grasp of Space Law, which led him to believe that this was not teleportation.
No rift was carved, no anchor of location was bridged. Instead, it was as if he had been uprooted from reality itself and hurled into a current that lay beneath space.
Furthermore, Ace was shocked when he found himself falling, and then continued to fall— falling, falling, falling—the descent was endless!
The black abyss swallowed all light, and his own presence felt as if it were being unthreaded strand by strand.
Ace would’ve panicked as any sane man would’ve panicked, if not for the faint silver tether that tied him to his avatar. That fragile connection was his lifeline, his only reassurance and proof that he had not vanished into oblivion or was under some profound illusion.
Not to mention the system was also there!
Still, unease gnawed at him.
After some time passed, Ace attempted to resist, circulating his primordial spirit Qi and invoking the thin thread of Space Law within his inner world.
But the moment he pushed back against that pulling force, his energy collapsed like paper before a storm. His foundation was too weak, his Space Law too immature.
The only reason his mind had not been shattered already was the complete Law of Sin, which stood between him and the corrosive tide of Sin seeping into his surroundings.
Furthermore, just the Order of Darkens was enough to embrace the corruption, shielding him, even capable of devouring it—yet it could do nothing against the suction that bound his existence because he was too weak.
Time had no meaning here. It could have been moments. It could have been centuries.
Just as Ace was becoming frustrated, he suddenly sensed something, as a peculiar sensation struck him. However, it wasn’t an attack nor corruption, but… a sense or perception!
It was as if an unfathomable consciousness had turned its gaze upon him, sweeping across his soul like an ocean washing over a pebble. His heart clenched, and his mind shuddered violently.
He could not measure the scale of that awareness; he only knew that compared to it, he was smaller than dust, which was his true feeling.
However, before he could even draw breath, a voice thundered across the abyss.
It was distant yet near, ancient yet resonant, its syllables ringing in an unfamiliar tongue.
Still, Ace understood. Not because of the voice, but because of the Language of the Ancient Gods!
“The Trial of Sin will now begin.”
Ace’s eyes widened, ’The trial of…sin?’
Right at that moment, before he had time to mull over it, the surrounding abyss shattered, and the pulling force vanished. The suffocating black void peeled away like torn silk.
In its place—a vast plain unfolded, seemingly stretching into infinity. Above was no sky, below, no earth, yet the ground shimmered like dark crystal, reflecting faint traces of scarlet light.
Around him, seven towering pillars rose into the heavens, each as tall as mountains, their surfaces glowing faintly with power.
One was crimson, its glyph a twisted flame. Another golden, its glyph an ever-hungry maw. The third, emerald, where a snake-shaped glyph coiled endlessly. The fourth, violet, has a glyph of a jagged crown. The fifth, sapphire, bearing a glyph of a weeping mask. The sixth, ashen, its glyph a pair of clutching claws. And finally, the seventh, crimson-pink with a glyph like a devilish face.
Each glyph pulsed faintly, carrying a pressure so immense that Ace instinctively stiffened. He felt, rather than knew, that these were not ordinary marks.
Suddenly, something came to his mind as his eyes widened, ’This is a…Law Legacy!’
Ace had already seen a law legacy within the Prime Heavenly Wealth King, and this place also had a similar touch, yet it seemed more powerful than the Law Legacy of the PHW King Sect.
’And with the familiar sense those glyphs are giving me, and what that voice announced earlier, they are probably the Seven Sin Laws that make the Law of Sin!’ Ace thought with a hint of excitement, ’So this is where the golden fate location leads me…’
Ace now knew that this was not a trap to be taken lightly. It was an ancient inheritance ground for a law legacy!
At that moment, the silence was shattered when the ancient voice rolled again, echoing across the plane…
“Clear every Sin Trial to earn the right to join the Cult of Crimson Vice, and inherit the law legacy of the Ancestor of Profane Chains.
“However, fail, and you shall surrender your life… and your sins!”
Ace’s heart jolted violently as he muttered, “Cult of Crimson Vice…and Ancestor of Profane Chains…?!”
Ace knew at that moment he had stumbled into the direct inheritance ground of a powerhouse who had once mastered the Sin Laws.
’Could it be someone above the Ascension State? A true transcendent expert!?’
Just thinking about it made Ace infinitely excited, since he had no idea what a transcendent expert was capable of. Yet, he knew that there existed above both the Ascension Mortal Heaven and the Abyss of Wandering Souls.
At that moment, just as the voice trailed off, the seven pillars pulsed as one. Their glyphs flared to life, each rhythmically, like beating hearts.
The ground beneath him vibrated, and Ace could not help but marvel despite the danger.
“I never expected…” He muttered, his eyes reflecting the seven lights, “…that the Black Hermit Mines could lead to this place!”
Ace clenched his fists, determination blazing through the faint shadow of his fear, and under his stunned eyes, the seven glyphs began to stir, each flickering brighter and brighter—as if hungry for their challenger to step forth!
