Chapter 675 631: A Mission Fulfilled, The Best Proof

Within the Merak Sacred Land, the Pill Pavilion appeared to be above worldly affairs. In reality, however, it was deeply involved in the power struggles between various factions. Aside from the few Pavilion Masters, no one could remain completely uninvolved.

Take Yang Chan, for example. Having just joined the Pill Pavilion, he was immediately branded as one of the Merak Saintess's own.

The same was true for other Pharmacists. Unless they possessed an extraordinary background, they were labeled long ago.

Even those with extraordinary backgrounds inevitably faced their own set of restrictions.

However, Yang Chan's promotion to Advanced Pharmacist put him in a relatively good position. After all, the Top Level Pharmacists ranked above him rarely took sides, remaining extremely detached—at least on the surface. Consequently, Yang Chan's identity as a Third Level Alchemist was unlikely to be heavily restricted. He would have a great deal of autonomy, which was a huge advantage.

Besides, even if he were ostracized by others in the Pill Pavilion, it wouldn't have much of an impact. As long as he was capable enough, nothing else mattered.

Liu Xuan was especially pleased when he learned that Yang Chan had successfully refined a Top Quality Seven Revolutions Nourishing Organ Pill. He knew exactly what this meant.

Elder Hua, an Advanced Pharmacist, possessed a decent Alchemy Ability, but refining elixirs that could assist an Initial Stage of Bone Marrow Cleansing Grandmaster was his limit. Because his Pill Formation Success Rate wasn't high, Liu Xuan didn't receive many elixirs from him. At times, he even had to ask other Third Level Alchemists who supported the Merak Saintess for help.

This, of course, meant he was at the mercy of those Third Level Alchemists. While he could eventually get the elixirs, the process was slow and left Liu Xuan deeply unsatisfied. However, he couldn't complain, as he had no other options.

But now, Yang Chan could refine a Top Quality Seven Revolutions Nourishing Organ Pill, which proved his Alchemy Ability was excellent. It likely wouldn't be long before he could refine elixirs to aid the cultivation of an Initial Stage of Bone Marrow Cleansing Grandmaster.

Then, the number of elixirs he received would increase, allowing him to complete his first Bone Marrow Cleansing more quickly and completely secure his position as the Peak Master of Chiyu Peak. This was incredibly important to him.

After everyone else had departed, only Han Bingyu and Princess Lan Yue remained in his small courtyard.

"Familiarize yourselves with the surroundings. For the foreseeable future, you'll be spending most of your time between Chiyu Peak and the Pill Pavilion."

"Once I've made the arrangements at the Pill Pavilion, you'll come with me."

Yang Chan looked at the two women. They seemed to get along quite harmoniously.

Their responsibilities were different, so there was no major conflict of interest. Moreover, both women were intelligent and understood the importance of cooperation.

Since neither could replace the other, they were natural allies. In this unfamiliar environment, it was far better to rely on each other than on strangers.

Besides, any conflict between them might displease Yang Chan. Both women currently depended on him, so they knew how to prioritize. And with the capabilities Yang Chan had demonstrated, there was no way he would be held back by their squabbles.

It was precisely because he saw they got along well that he had made these arrangements.

"The journey today was tiring. I'm going to rest for a bit. Do as you please, but don't disturb me," Yang Chan continued.

A powerful suction force was constantly emanating from the Innate Tai Chi Longevity Body within him, but he kept it suppressed.

The concentration of Spiritual Qi on Heaven-Reaching Supreme Mountain was extremely high, and even more so in places like the Pill Pavilion and Chiyu Peak.

These places were so dense with Spiritual Qi because they were built where Spirit Veins erupted. Yang Chan's residence was one of the best locations on Chiyu Peak; its courtyard was so ideal it could be used to cultivate even Top Level Spirit Grass. Living in such an environment for an extended period would greatly lengthen a person's Lifespan, all thanks to the nourishing Spiritual Qi.

The fact that one could live longer in a place with dense Spiritual Qi had long been proven.

The reason Yang Chan sent the two women away was so he could be alone. 'I plan to let my Innate Tai Chi Longevity Body absorb the Spiritual Qi here. But the process will likely cause a significant disturbance, so I'll need to dig a secret chamber and do it underground.'

'Absorbing Spiritual Qi directly from deep underground will create a much smaller disturbance. I already confirmed that in the Purple Void Secret Realm. If I also control the rate of absorption, the commotion will be even less noticeable. That way, I can complete the process of my Innate Tai Chi Longevity Body devouring the Spiritual Qi in secret.'

"Yes, Pharmacist Yang!"

The two women replied, bowing their heads.

After watching Yang Chan go inside, the two women walked together through his courtyard, familiarizing themselves with their new surroundings.

For now, it was just them. Other Servants would arrive later, but none would be as close to Yang Chan as they were. They would essentially be the ones in charge, acting as stewards.

They might even be allowed to select the new Servants and Maids themselves.

Han Bingyu knew this well. 'Back in the Yuanqing Courtyard at the Cyan Yuan Sect, Yang Chan only provided a general outline for the Maids; I was the one who selected the specific individuals. Every one of them was outstanding, but Yang Chan paid them no mind.'

'I know his standards for the women he keeps close are incredibly high. I myself had to pass through numerous trials before earning my place by his side.'

'As for Princess Lan Yue, I don't know much. I only know that Yang Chan brought her back to the Cyan Yuan Sect to assist him with Alchemy, and she seems to have some talent for it. I haven't tried to learn more, because I know that if it's a secret I'm meant to know, Yang Chan will tell me. It's best not to pry into secrets that aren't for me.'

'People who are too curious rarely meet a good end.'

This discretion was a major reason her relationship with Princess Lan Yue had grown closer.

Although Han Bingyu was now a Basic Level Pharmacist with an External Refining Copper Skin Cultivation, she knew Yang Chan's potential. Thus, she was willing to continue serving him, just as she had in the Cyan Yuan Sect, with no change in her attitude.

'Neither my status as a Basic Level Pharmacist nor my External Refining Copper Skin cultivation amount to anything in the Merak Sacred Land. Only by following Yang Chan and working for him can I obtain everything I desire. My Martial Arts Cultivation can also improve rapidly this way.'

'I've tried my hand at Alchemy. I failed to refine even the Lantian Jade Refining Pill many times. This proves my Talent as a Pharmacist is average at best. It will be difficult enough to become an Intermediate Pharmacist, let alone an Advanced Pharmacist, which seems like an impossible goal.'

She was very self-aware and understood her own limitations. Therefore, her work ethic remained as consistent as ever.

'As for Martial Arts Cultivation, Yang Chan not only provides me with elixirs, but he also has that special Dual Cultivation Method to help me. This is assistance no one else can offer, which naturally makes me all the more devoted to him!'

As for Princess Lan Yue, she too had learned more secrets after growing closer to Yang Chan.

'Whether it's his special Dual Cultivation Method, which helped my Martial Arts Cultivation reach the Inner Master realm, or his monstrous Talent for Alchemy, it's more than enough to make me content to stay by his side.'

'The path to becoming a Top Level Pharmacist probably won't be an obstacle for someone as talented as Yang Chan. I've already seen him refine a Top Quality elixir to assist with the first Bone Marrow Cleansing. I estimate it won't be long before he can refine elixirs for the Third Bone Marrow Cleansing. When that happens, he'll be promoted to Top Level Pharmacist.'

'In my opinion, Top Level Pharmacist isn't his limit. He might even reach the legendary rank of King-level Pharmacist. I see infinite potential in him, a quality I've never seen in anyone else.'

'Even my late master, the Vice Alliance Leader of the Pharmacist Alliance, pursued that realm his entire life. But by his own admission, he struggled to advance even as a Top Level Pharmacist, let alone reach the King Level rank above it.'

'My master participated in the rebellion because he had been promised access to related knowledge, books that would help him advance as a Top Level Pharmacist, and even control over the Pharmacist Alliance.'

'Such tempting benefits naturally swayed the Vice Alliance Leader. After all, while "Vice Alliance Leader" and "Alliance Leader" differ by only one word, the power they wielded was on a completely different level. He especially coveted the most precious Pharmacist knowledge, which was inaccessible to him because he wasn't one of the Old Emperor's men and wasn't fully trusted.'

'But now, I see that hope in Yang Chan. This is the choice I've made, and the fact that I can now join the Merak Sacred Land is the best proof of it!'
