"You get things organized here. If something major has happened, we’re leaving immediately."

"You can go back to your duties. I’ll wait here."

Yang Chan dismissed the Steward and then walked briskly to the top of the pavilion to look toward Purple Mountain.

Against the pitch-black night sky, the direction of Purple Mountain was a swathe of darkness. It was impossible to see any sign of a major event.

"The Spiritual Qi over at Purple Mountain has grown much denser, as if it’s leaking out!"

The Black Dragon floated beside Yang Chan. Its Soul Body was in a special state, completely invisible to the naked eye of ordinary people. Only those with special methods could see it.

Some with highly sensitive perception might be able to sense the Soul Body’s location, but they would still see nothing.
