Chapter 609 - 590: Leaving the Purple Void Secret Realm, Blood Pumping

  • Next Chapter

After a long conversation with Gu An, Yang Chan left the Purple Void Secret Realm along with the members of the Cyan Yuan Sect who were transporting Spirit Medicine.

First, he headed to Yu City. The Cyan Yuan Sect had left some of its forces there, and Yang Chan had also stationed Han Bingyu in the city to help him collect Spirit Medicine.

Yang Chan, however, had no confidence that she could gather any Top Level Spiritual Materials. The elixirs he had given her simply weren’t valuable enough for such an exchange.

Still, collecting some Superior Spirit Medicine, Intermediate Spiritual Materials, and common Spirit Medicine would be a decent haul.

After all, not all the elixirs Yang Chan planned to refine required Top Level Spiritual Materials. He also needed these common Spirit Medicines to balance and regulate their medicinal properties, allowing the final elixir to exert its maximum effect.

That was why, even with so many Top Level Spirit Medicines on hand, he still needed to gather common ones; he even needed some ordinary herbs.

Naturally, he left this task to Han Bingyu.

With the appearance of the Purple Void Secret Realm, many people had gathered in Yu City of the Great Zhou Imperial Dynasty, including numerous Loose Cultivators and members of Small Sects. When these people acquired Spirit Medicine, they typically wanted to exchange it for either money or elixirs, and Yang Chan had instructed Han Bingyu to be prepared for both.

The cities in the Celestial Wind Imperial Dynasty near the Secret Realm had also drawn large crowds. Unfortunately, he hadn’t had a good opportunity to go there; otherwise, he could have collected a great deal more Spirit Medicine.

"Pharmacist Yang, you’re out!"

Han Bingyu was in the shop Yang Chan had arranged, collecting Spirit Medicine under the banner of both the Cyan Yuan Sect and Yang Chan himself. With the Han Family’s backing, her progress had been excellent.

Her responsibilities were light; she mostly just had to inspect the Spirit Medicine, as others handled all related matters. Consequently, she wasn’t usually busy and could simply wait for people to bring Spirit Medicine to her door.

Those in urgent need of a trade would come on their own accord. The shop had already built a small reputation, mainly because the elixirs Yang Chan provided were of high quality and the prices were fair, naturally attracting many people.

Being situated in the Great Zhou Imperial Dynasty and backed by both the Cyan Yuan Sect and the Merak Sacred Land, few dared to cause trouble. The truly powerful factions, meanwhile, looked down on such minor dealings and had all entered the Purple Void Secret Realm. After all, the best treasures were inside—things these Loose Cultivators would never have a chance to obtain.

Seeing Yang Chan now, Han Bingyu was both surprised and overjoyed.

’The Secret Realm is dangerous, even for those traveling with the people from the Merak Sacred Land.’

’She couldn’t understand why the ever-cautious Yang Chan would come here voluntarily. Even if he’d failed in his attempt to refine the Seven Revolutions Nourishing Organ Pill and wanted to find an opportunity for a breakthrough, there was no need to travel to the border, especially to a recently manifested secret realm.’

’During this time, she had watched as countless major powers passed through Yu City on their way to Purple Mountain to enter the Secret Realm.’

’There were countless Sects as powerful as the Cyan Yuan Sect, not to mention the various factions on the level of a Holy Land. Every person they dispatched was an expert—most of them at the Inner Master level, with some possessing even higher cultivation.’

’With so many people entering, the Secret Realm would naturally become more dangerous. After all, more people meant more friction, which could easily lead to conflict and all-out war.’

’It was extremely dangerous for anyone with a low cultivation level to enter.’

’In her eyes, Yang Chan’s cultivation was slightly higher than hers, but not by much. Before an Inner Master, his level of cultivation was nothing. There was no need for him to risk entering the Purple Void Secret Realm. He would have been better off staying in Yu City to collect Spirit Medicine, just like her.’

’If Yang Chan was looking for inspiration for his alchemy, he would have been better off relaxing with her. She could even show him the new skills she’d recently learned.’

’They were said to make one’s blood race and fill them with excitement. Surely that would give him new insights, and perhaps he would even find the opportunity for his breakthrough.’

’Unfortunately, however, Yang Chan had been in the Purple Void Secret Realm and hadn’t come out.’

’She never expected that he would suddenly appear before her now. It was quite a surprise.’

"Pharmacist Yang, when did you get out?"

Han Bingyu shot to her feet, asking with a smile.

Han Bingyu was delighted to see Yang Chan.

"I haven’t been out long. I came with the others from the Sect. After we rest here for a bit, we’ll head back to the Cyan Yuan Sect."

"You should arrange for someone to take over here. Then you can come back to the Cyan Yuan Sect with me."

Yang Chan said slowly, his eyes on Han Bingyu.

’Although the trip to the Purple Void Secret Realm hadn’t met all his expectations, the gains were still decent. At least it wasn’t a wasted trip.’

’Of course, he hadn’t expected to accomplish everything before coming to the Purple Void Secret Realm. That would have been too difficult, a fact he understood well, so he hadn’t forced the issue.’

’The Cross-Realm Teleportation Array in the Purple Void Secret Realm was broken, so there was no point in forcing that matter.’

’The dragon’s roar in the Secret Realm had belonged to an Ink Jade Flood Dragon, not a member of the Pure-blooded Dragon Race, so his Dragon Tamer class was of little use. Besides, the creature’s potential was limited and held little appeal for him.’

’Black Dragon’s search for a Dragon Body had also failed, again because the Ink Jade Flood Dragon wasn’t a pure-blooded creature. However, he had learned about the early days of the Purple Void Imperial Dynasty from the Array Spirit, so there was no longer any need to waste more time in the Purple Void Secret Realm.’

’Cracking the Large Array inside the Purple Void Secret Realm would take too much time and risk exposing his cultivation. Common Spirit Medicine held little appeal for him, so he was better off arranging for people to collect it in Yu City. The cost of some elixirs was nothing to him.’

’The time it took to perform alchemy was nothing compared to the time it took to find Spirit Medicine. His Pill Formation Success Rate was extremely high, and he produced a large number of elixirs with each attempt. He could trade those for a great deal of Spirit Medicine, so there was no need to waste his own time on the search.’

’Besides, most of the Spirit Medicine collected by the Cyan Yuan Sect would eventually end up in his hands, to be refined into elixirs.’

’There was no need for him to reveal his External Refining Steel cultivation just to collect Spirit Medicine.’

"Yes, Pharmacist Yang! I’ll go make the arrangements right away!"

Han Bingyu replied quickly upon hearing Yang Chan’s instructions.

In her mind, Yang Chan’s arrangements were the most important thing. She had wanted to hear more about his experiences in the Secret Realm, but she no longer had the heart for it at the moment.

’But not now. Once we’re back at the Cyan Yuan Sect, that would be fine. There will be plenty of time then, especially at night, when there will be even more time. Then, she could both show him what she had learned and listen to some of the rumors about the Purple Void Secret Realm.’

’Although she hadn’t entered the Purple Void Secret Realm, she had heard no shortage of rumors about what went on inside. She just had no way of knowing how much was true and how much was false.’

’Most of the information came from the Loose Cultivators, with a small portion passed along from the Cyan Yuan Sect, though it wasn’t much. This was mainly because her status wasn’t high enough.’

’After all, she wasn’t Yang Chan himself, just someone permitted to act in his name!’
