Eternal Life Starts from Tai Chi
Chapter 560 546: Win-Win, Famous Weapon Cyan Frost
"In the days I've been in the Secret Realm, I've only seen the Sect Leader once—that was when we first entered. The rest of the time, he's basically been with the people from the Merak Sacred Land!"
Because he was speaking to Yang Chan, the Chief Pharmacist of the Cyan Yuan Sect, the Elite Disciple told him everything he knew.
This was also an arrangement made by the Hall Master of the Law Enforcement Hall. He had ordered that if Yang Chan wanted to know anything about the Secret Realm, he was to be told everything, with nothing held back.
"Oh!"
"So, how many Magic Arrays has the Merak Sacred Land cracked so far?"
Yang Chan changed the subject and asked.
Only the people from the Merak Sacred Land and the Cyan Yuan Sect knew how many Magic Arrays had been cracked, as they were all in this area.
Each time the Merak Sacred Land cracked a Magic Array, they would venture deeper. The Cyan Yuan Sect followed, allowing them to search for Spirit Medicine and other opportunities while also guarding against sneak attacks from the rear and clearing a safe passage.
This was also very necessary for the Merak Sacred Land.
"We know of three. The Merak Sacred Land spent a lot of time on those three Magic Arrays; each one took several days. As for the simpler ones, I'm not sure."
The Elite Disciple held up three fingers, glanced around, and continued speaking after confirming no one was listening.
This was something both sides understood implicitly, and they certainly wouldn't speak of it to outsiders.
The Merak Sacred Land got the meat while the Cyan Yuan Sect got the soup. The Cyan Yuan Sect Disciples who entered the Secret Realm had all made decent gains.
Their losses were relatively low. Aside from a few deaths at the beginning due to unfamiliarity with the Secret Realm's conditions, things had been quiet for the past few days.
After the people from the Cyan Yuan Sect became aware of the small, hidden poisonous creatures, they became much more careful when searching for Spirit Medicine. This, combined with the Antidotes the Sect brought in later, further reduced their losses.
Of course, this was the situation for the Cyan Yuan Sect Disciples in the rear, who had it better. For the disciples scouting ahead—most of whom were Servant Disciples—the losses were much greater.
However, the requirements for these Servant Disciples weren't high. They only needed to find the locations of the Magic Arrays without going deep. If they were cautious, they could still survive.
The surviving Servant Disciples would receive the many benefits promised by the Cyan Yuan Sect, so they were naturally willing to risk their lives. These benefits could change their fate, but they had to survive to claim them.
All things considered, this method of cooperation between the Cyan Yuan Sect and the Merak Sacred Land was a win-win situation.
The Magic Arrays contained good things but were also more dangerous. Cracking them was time-consuming, and only experts at the Bone Marrow Cleansing Grandmaster level could speed up the process.
The Cyan Yuan Sect had few Inner Refining Grandmasters and thus had no intention of taking such risks. If they encountered a small Magic Array, they might try to crack it, but they would report large ones directly to the Merak Sacred Land to handle.
Both sides were making good gains, so they were naturally very satisfied with this arrangement.
"Pharmacist Yang, the Sect's encampment is just ahead. It's all Cyan Yuan Sect Disciples, with some Servant Disciples as well."
Before long, they saw a cluster of simple treehouses on the side of a mountain, built by the Cyan Yuan Sect Disciples.
For Martial Arts Cultivators, such construction was extremely simple. The wood was sourced from nearby materials and assembled jointly. They also built a surrounding stockade to prevent Exotic Beasts from rushing in undetected.
The treehouses were simply furnished but sufficient for resting. After all, they weren't settling down in the Secret Realm, just recuperating.
As Yang Chan approached, he noticed that most of the people were Servant Disciples he hadn't seen before. There were also some Official Disciples, but few Elite Disciples, and even fewer Direct Disciples.
The Cyan Yuan Sect had one Inner Refining Grandmaster present—the Hall Master of the Artifact Refining Hall. The remaining few Inner Refining Grandmasters were from the Merak Sacred Land.
"Pharmacist Yang, I didn't expect you to come to the Secret Realm as well!"
The Hall Master of the Artifact Refining Hall came forward to greet him with great enthusiasm.
They had obtained a great deal of Spirit Medicine from the Secret Realm, which ultimately had to be refined by Yang Chan into the Inner Refining Supporting Elixirs they needed. Since they were completely dependent on him for this, their attitude was naturally warm.
"Hall Master Xu."
Yang Chan returned the greeting.
He was acquainted with all the Inner Refining Grandmasters in the Cyan Yuan Sect, but they weren't particularly close—just on greeting terms.
Yang Chan's life in the Cyan Yuan Sect was very routine, with a set schedule every day. He naturally spent little time socializing with others.
This was true even for people from his own Medicine Hall, let alone those from the Artifact Refining Hall.
However, for this trip to the Secret Realm, Yang Chan had spent a considerable number of Contribution Points to redeem a Famous Weapon-Level Weapon from the Artifact Refining Hall.
His previous Sharp Sword could no longer keep up with his Cultivation progress. At most, it could only injure someone at the Inner Refining Grandmaster Level. Against a Bone Marrow Cleansing Grandmaster, a Sharp Sword posed little threat.
Even with the enhancements from Yang Chan's Sword Intent and Sword Momentum, a Sharp Sword-Level Weapon would be destroyed after just a few uses.
He had now switched to the Famous Sword Cyan Frost, which would be sufficient for him for some time.
It would be sufficient for his use until his Cultivation advanced to the Martial Saint realm.
The Cyan Yuan Sect did not possess any Weapon capable of harming a Martial Saint, as that Level was too high.
The Cyan Yuan Sect only had a few Famous Weapon-Level Weapons. They were considered part of the Sect's foundation, and ordinary people couldn't redeem them. Yang Chan was only able to get one because he was a Pharmacist and had accumulated a large number of Contribution Points.
Otherwise, under normal circumstances, only the Sect Leader would be able to use these Famous Weapons.
When the Former Sect Leader Liu Xuan left, he also took a Famous Weapon with him, saying he would send several more Famous Weapons back to the Cyan Yuan Sect in the future.
Many Famous Weapons had long histories, having been in existence for quite some time. They were all obtained from Secret Realms and were part of the Cyan Yuan Sect's accumulated heritage.
Generally, after the wielder of a Famous Weapon fell, the weapon would be returned to the Sect to await its next owner.
It could be said to be a legacy of the Cyan Yuan Sect.
The Famous Sword Cyan Frost in Yang Chan's hand had been acquired from a Secret Realm decades ago. No one in the Cyan Yuan Sect had chosen it before, because Cyan Frost possessed a potent Sword Qi. For someone without significant achievements in Swordsmanship, wielding it was more of a hindrance than a help.
In order to redeem this Famous Weapon, Yang Chan had even revealed his Demon Suppressing Swordsmanship and Sword Intent within the Sect. This surprised the people at the redemption office, who proclaimed him a genius with the sword.
However, they also knew that Yang Chan's skill as a Pharmacist was even more formidable, so no one suggested he should specialize in Swordsmanship. If they had, they would have been flamed to death by the rest of the Sect.
After all, if the Cyan Yuan Sect's Chief Pharmacist specialized in Swordsmanship, who would provide the Elixirs they normally consumed?
Back in the Secret Realm, the Hall Master of the Artifact Refining Hall exchanged a few pleasantries with Yang Chan. He then led him to a more exquisitely built wooden house before taking his leave.
There were many matters to attend to in the Secret Realm. If Yang Chan hadn't come to the Sect's encampment, the Hall Master wouldn't have come out to greet him personally. This was a way to show his attitude and avoid having Yang Chan think he was being looked down upon, which was very important.
