Chapter 558 - 544: Juvenile Dragon, Spirit Medicine Everywhere

"I have a faint feeling that there’s an aura left by the Dragon Race to the north. However, there are many Magic Arrays deeper in, and my power has weakened considerably, so my senses aren’t very clear."

The Black Dragon said, frowning as he looked to the north.

Members of the Dragon Race can sense one another, but they can also actively sever that connection. Even among the same race, relationships aren’t always amicable.

Not to mention the many different types of dragons. Even within the same clan, there’s rivalry, and they won’t necessarily help one another.

Just as the Black Dragon’s purpose for this journey was to find a dragon, possess its physical body, and use it to nourish his Soul Body.

Thus, even kin within the Dragon Race are guarded against each other.

The aura the Black Dragon sensed was indeed left by the Dragon Race, which meant a dragon existed within this Secret Realm.

"Can you confirm what kind of dragon it is? And how strong is it?"

Upon hearing this, Yang Chan looked north. It was a different direction from where the Merak Sacred Land was heading, but it was still one of the three areas with the most abundant Spiritual Qi.

’If I keep exploring, I’ll definitely find out what’s happening deeper in the Secret Realm.’

However, what concerned Yang Chan more right now was the situation with the dragon in the Secret Realm—specifically, its true power.

If the power difference was too great, he wouldn’t risk moving forward at all.

After all, it was always better to be cautious.

"I can only sense the aura left behind by the Dragon Race; I can’t confirm its strength. However, I estimate that it must be a being below the Divine Acupoint Realm."

The Black Dragon shook his head. The aura was quite old, with only a faint trace remaining. He had only been able to detect it thanks to his powerful senses and his own draconic nature.

An ordinary person wouldn’t have been able to sense it at all.

But according to the Black Dragon, the dragon in the Secret Realm was likely a juvenile. This was normal; the Secret Realm had existed for over ten thousand years, and even long-lived members of the Dragon Race with their long Lifespans might not have survived that long. This was especially true since the Divine Vein of this world had been destroyed, meaning there was no path forward for cultivation.

Even a dragon at the Divine Acupoint Realm could have perished here.

The fact that a dragon still existed in the Secret Realm meant it was likely born here much later. This, in turn, made it highly probable that it had not yet broken through to the Divine Acupoint Realm—what the Dragon Race considers a juvenile.

Only dragons that have reached the Divine Acupoint Realm are considered adults.

Of course, even a juvenile dragon’s strength was not to be underestimated, and their power could vary greatly. After all, a juvenile at its peak is equivalent to the Blood Exchange Martial Saint Peak Realm—a terrifyingly powerful existence.

Facing such an existence, Yang Chan would be no match, so naturally, he wasn’t about to get any ideas.

"Then there’s no rush to go. Let’s wait and see," Yang Chan said, his expression noncommittal.

Since he didn’t know anything about the situation, he was naturally in no hurry to head over.

Someone would surely be interested in the dragon’s presence in the Secret Realm, and he could use that as an opportunity to observe.

’If an opportunity arises for the Black Dragon to control it, that would be for the best. If not, it won’t affect me. I’d only be more interested if it were a young hatchling.’

’Compared to external power, I much prefer to strengthen myself directly. It would be great if my Dragon Tamer class becomes useful, but if not, I’ll just let it sit.’

"As you wish, Master,"

the Black Dragon replied after a moment of thought.

He knew that saying anything more at this point would be useless. It was better to just wait.

The Secret Realm would be open for a long time, and people were bound to head in that direction eventually.

If there were opportunities deeper inside, like Top Level inheritances of the Human Race, a Cross-Realm Teleportation Array, a Great Shift Order, or even a Supreme Divine Medicine, he refused to believe Yang Chan wouldn’t be tempted.

Besides, the location he’d sensed wasn’t far from the center. It was bound to hide numerous opportunities and would certainly attract a lot of people.

"Let’s gather some Spirit Medicine around here first."

Yang Chan chose not to head up the mountain yet. Although he could now control his Tai Chi Longevity Body to absorb Spiritual Qi and the process had slowed down considerably, he was in no hurry to proceed.

The people from Merak Sacred Land were still breaking the array. If he went over now, he’d just be watching. It was better to search for Spirit Medicines and Spiritual Materials at the foot of the mountain and at least get something out of it.

Besides, while absorbing Spiritual Qi earlier, he had sensed several spots with a higher concentration of it. Now was the perfect time to go and reap the rewards.

"Master, the Spiritual Qi concentration is relatively high in these directions. You might want to check them out."

The Black Dragon also pointed out several directions. His detection abilities were far superior to those of a Treasure-Seeking Mouse.

A Treasure-Seeking Mouse only perceived things by instinct, whereas he could get a clear picture of the surrounding area. He could pinpoint locations with dense Spiritual Qi. Nothing escaped his senses, unless a special Magic Array was used to conceal an aura.

"Mm."

Yang Chan nodded. The directions the Black Dragon indicated were roughly the same as the ones he had sensed, all having high concentrations of Spiritual Qi.

He immediately headed for the nearest location with a high concentration of Spiritual Qi.

’Superior Spirit Medicine, Thousand-year-old Snow Ginseng. And five of them. Not a bad haul at all!’

Yang Chan arrived at the location with the high Spiritual Qi concentration. Moving closer, he found five stalks of the Superior Spirit Medicine in the middle of a grassy patch.

In the outside world, gathering even one would be extremely difficult, let alone finding five in a row. That was even rarer.

For Yang Chan, it was a pretty good haul.

The other locations he had sensed were similar, which meant they also likely held more Superior Spirit Medicine.

And sure enough, just as Yang Chan had expected.

As he continued on, he collected one stalk of Superior Spirit Medicine after another. They were all incredibly old, and the medicinal efficacy they contained was immense.

This was medicinal efficacy nurtured by the Spiritual Qi of the Secret Realm, a Medicinal Power that people could absorb directly.

Ordinary people couldn’t absorb Spiritual Qi directly, but they could absorb Medicinal Power from Spiritual Objects like Spirit Grass and Spirit Medicine, ultimately converting it into strength.

This was also why the Black Dragon had been so surprised when he first observed Yang Chan’s unique condition.

He had even blurted out that Yang Chan was like a Spirit Grass that had gained sentience, which just went to show the extent of his astonishment.

"This is just the periphery, yet it contains so many Superior Spirit Medicines. Deeper inside, there must be Top Level Spirit Medicine, and perhaps even Divine Medicine that’s beneficial even to those at the Divine Acupoint Realm."

"These might have all existed before the Divine Vein was destroyed."

"It seems this place was very important to the Purple Void Imperial Dynasty back in the day. The chances that a Cross-Realm Teleportation Array was built inside are very high."

The Black Dragon watched Yang Chan’s harvest grow. These Superior Spirit Grasses were just scattered about like common weeds. There were also plenty of other types of Spiritual Materials, and even more ordinary Spirit Medicines.

You could even say that Spirit Medicines were everywhere!

And this harvest wasn’t even from within any of the Magic Arrays. It was clear that even better things must be waiting inside them.

It was unknown how many Magic Arrays were in this Secret Realm, but they all looked extremely complex. The Black Dragon could sense several, and even for him, they posed a huge problem.

He hadn’t studied Arrays extensively. He had spent a long time researching the Taixuan Sacrifice Array before, and even then, he had only managed to set it up after much effort, and it still ran into unexpected problems.

The numerous Arrays in this Secret Realm were a massive headache for him. It was best to just follow the others and wait for them to break through the Magic Arrays before deciding on anything else.
