Chapter 851: Chapter 241: Unmatched Blade, Barbarian King’s Finale
No one knows what the Emperor Star, the Extraterrestrial Star truly are.
Just because Xia She told Ji Hu an answer, does that make it certainly right?
To common folk, the last king of the Xia Dynasty indeed sat high above; and judged by himself, he was without doubt a man of outstanding talent.
Only... seen from Heaven’s vantage, he was still no more than an ant.
An ant—what the hell does it know.
What can at least be confirmed is that there is a connection between the Dragon Vein and the Emperor Star, just as, in this very moment... there is a connection between Ghost Lake and some Extraterrestrial Star.
And to strip away lifespan, strip away memory and power, seems to be precisely Ghost Lake’s ability.
Ghost Lake has become Yellow Springs.
Upon Yellow Springs, that uncanny, luxurious coffin lay near the Ghost Hall; the lid opened a thin slit, and a flawless jade hand, reaching across souls to seize lives, suddenly clamped down on the hand of Feng’Er before Yama.
Feng’Er had followed Yama for a very, very long time, and had grown stronger beyond reckoning; yet no matter how strong she was, how could she possibly resist that single grasp?
At that grasp, Lady Yama’s face changed color, for she could feel her bond with Feng’Er rapidly vanishing.
Her ability to rule the Ghost Realm with a living person’s rational mind had its root precisely in Feng’Er.
If Feng’Er disappears, what will become of her?
Yet now, in this very moment, there is nothing she can do.
For now, in this very moment, the only one left who still cares for her is Feng’Er.
The seven great taboos have fused into three, and the strongest of these is Ghost Lake, which has merged Ghost Mountain and Lianyi House.
And though she did succeed in fusing Paradise Garden, even adding the Evil Ghosts of Paradise Garden to her Pig, the flower-shop little girl, the Cyan Robe ice ghost, and all manner of other Evil Ghosts, they can only barely resist the opposing invasion; were it not for the counterbalance of the taboo formed by Beifeng Inn and Ghost Market fused on the other side, she would likely have been defeated long ago.
Now, all regions have settled into a balance, sinking into a strange, prolonged process of fusion.
And only she, this aberrant existence, remains—along with the coffin that has arrived from afar at this moment.
Is this a king pitted against a king?
It is not.
Yama is nothing but a person struggling in a whirlpool.
Yet behind Ghost Lake there may stand the true player of the game.
She is no more than a chess piece that the player has picked up between his fingers.
Victory or defeat? From the very beginning, there was no such thing.
For the only one that will ever win is Ghost Lake.
...
Sure enough, Lady Yama’s sense of connection with Feng’Er was vanishing at high speed.
Feng’Er’s whole body had already warped, and in the next instant she was "whoosh"—dragged into the coffin and vanished utterly.
And Lady Yama’s bond with Feng’Er also disappeared in that same moment.
Countless chaotic thoughts surged in Yama’s mind, as though every Ghost Hand that had once been suppressed suddenly lost its seal, reached out from the darkness one after another, then seized Yama, trying to drag what remained of her humanity down into the abyss.
If this had gone on a while longer, Yama’s humanity would likely have completely disappeared.
But the Evil Ghost within the coffin would not wait until Yama became an Evil Ghost.
The reason is simple: its goal is not to obliterate Yama’s humanity, but to merge with Yama.
And a Yama in the midst of confusion is far easier to handle than a Yama who has fully become a ghost.
Thus, those slender fingers like white jade, after dealing with Feng’Er, once more shot out swiftly toward the chaotic Yama.
The five fingers grew larger and longer, until they utterly filled all of Yama’s sight and perception.
Smack!
This time, the five fingers grabbed solidly.
Yama was dragged, and with a "whoosh" was pulled into the coffin.
The coffin lid slowly closed, and that pitch-black chasm-like seam vanished without a trace.
And the coffin continued to drift upon Yellow Springs.
...
In the darkness, perhaps because of this "poison-versus-poison" struggle, Lady Yan gained a sliver of clarity, and at once felt a terrifying female ghost pressing down upon her.
Yet that female ghost was absolutely not Feng’Er.
And still, upon this female ghost she could sense faint traces of Feng’Er’s presence.
Lady Yan understood: Feng’Er... had already become a part of this female ghost.
And soon, she too would become another part.
Her memories, her strength were vanishing at a tremendous pace.
"Li Yuan!"
"Xiaozhao!"
"Li Yuan!"
"Xiaozhao!"
In her heart she cried out desperately, yet even so, these two names themselves were rapidly blurring.
"Pear Garden!"
"Garden!"
"Jade!"
"One!"

Lady Yan was sinking into complete ruin; even she herself was about to vanish utterly from this world.
Everything of hers was being stripped away by that female ghost. 𝖿𝖗ⅇℴ𝑚
No one knew how much time had passed, or what had happened, when all at once that luxurious coffin above Yellow Springs violently shuddered.
After one shudder, it grew ever more violent, so violent that the heavy Yellow Springs heaved up like a tsunami in all directions; unspeakable Evil Ghosts fused with the murky yellow water, surging up as walls of water into midair, then crashing down heavily.
The entire Yellow Springs was in uproar, and in the distance the Ghost Shop suddenly shook as well; its soot-black tiles rustled down in a shower, cracking to powder with sharp smacks.
Ice mountains shattered, pounding mortars split, blades and iron trees likewise withered; glorious scarlet blossoms withered one by one, and the graves strewn across the hills all closed up—everything, everything was undergoing some inconceivable transformation.
Inside the coffin, the hand that had been stripping away all of Yama suddenly stiffened, as though the thing that had been frenziedly robbing everything had encountered something that could not be robbed, and so had jammed.
Yet stripping away is the defining trait of a ghost.
To make a ghost stop is absolutely impossible.
Thus, even though it was stuck, this hand would still continue to strip.
Lady Yan of the Ten Thousand Ghosts’ Green Skirt lay on her back in the coffin, eyes vacant, like a porcelain doll without Life; upon her face there pressed that pure white jade-like hand.
But that hand was growing ever more rigid...
Everything inside the coffin seemed to have entered a time of absolute stillness, while outside, the world was collapsing.
