Chapter 871: Chapter 543: Thunderstruck Mountain! (Double-Length)
Upon hearing Song Changming speak like this, Yuan San no longer insisted.
"Last time, I unintentionally killed a noble demon of your clan and seized the demon thunder. If given a chance, I will compensate your noble clan."
Having said that, in the next moment, Song Changming activated both the Witch Soldier Seal and the Thunder Seed. The thundercloud beneath his feet surged more intensely, transforming the trio into a stream of light that swiftly vanished to one side.
"You want to leave!" The Kui Thunder Beasts around emitted bursts of thunder light, unwilling to let the seemingly compliant Song Changming escape without paying a price.
However.
"Do not pursue." The gigantic bullhead of the Old Demon King suddenly spoke, its voice deep and resonant, like a thousand muffled thunders exploding simultaneously, causing the space to tremble violently.
"Why, Great King?!" The Kui Thunder Beasts were puzzled by their Old Demon King’s sudden change in attitude.
The usually stern Old Demon King was unexpectedly choosing to let Song Changming go unpunished.
The Old Demon King’s large bull eyes gleamed with a fierce light, glaring at the spot where Song Changming had disappeared.
"That human kid is of little concern, but the Yin Spirit by his side is unusual. If cornered, I’m not confident of defeating it..."
"What!"
The words of the Kui Thunder Beast King left the group of Kui Thunder Beasts utterly shocked.
The Old Demon King was immensely powerful, and to see him so cautious was unprecedented. At once, all the Kui Thunder Beasts snapped out of their agitated emotions.
"Great King, what is the origin of that Yin Spirit?" One of the Kui Thunder Beasts twisted its demon body and couldn’t help but ask.
All the Kui Thunder Beasts turned their gaze towards their Demon King.
"I do not know; the evil yin qi condensing on it seems ancient, far beyond what modern-day undead corpses can possess..." the Old Demon King said slowly.
He referred to Yuan San as an Ancient Yin Spirit, distinctly separating it from modern undead corpses.
"Damn it!" The Kui Thunder Beasts gnashed their teeth at Song Changming but, heeding the Old Demon King’s words, had no choice but to let Song Changming leave.
They, the Kui Thunder Beast clan, had once been a great force, and none in recent years would dare provoke them.
Yet they were thwarted by this human kid, Song Changming.
"Let’s go back; this ends here." The gigantic bullhead was reluctant to say more, slowly receding into the thunderous dark clouds, gradually vanishing.
He was very curious about how such a powerful Yin Spirit would listen and submit to this human as its master?
Elsewhere, the Tiger Demon felt as though only thunder light and howling gales were left in the world. As they spun through the air, they crossed the Thunder Marsh and delved into the lands of Thunder Province.
"Such speed!" It wasn’t until the speed of the thundercloud at Song Changming’s feet slowed that the Tiger Demon could catch his breath.
He glanced back, seeing no Kui Thunder Beasts chasing after them, and relaxed.
"Thank goodness..."
He did not know what had happened with the Kui Thunder Beasts, only thinking that Song Changming’s speed had made them give up the chase.
To so easily turn peril into safety was truly fortunate.
If they had truly clashed with those unwelcome Kui Thunder Beasts, saving his Princess would have been impossible.
Boom!
As the Tiger Demon was celebrating, a thunderous roar accompanied a violent energy shockwave sweeping in from the front.
Caught off guard, the Tiger Demon staggered on the thundercloud, nearly carried off by the shockwave.
"What terrifying aftershocks from the battle!" The Tiger Demon was somewhat bewildered, as the smooth journey took such a turbulent turn upon entering Thunder Province.
"We must avoid being dragged into the war..."
He murmured aloud, drawing a peculiar look from Song Changming who overheard him.
The Tiger Demon may not have yet sensed what was happening ahead, but through the perception of the Witch God Soul, Song Changming sensed events occurring three hundred miles away.
It was a human-demon camp battlefield!
Both sides had committed forces, engaging in fierce combat, making the sky dark and obscuring the sun and moon.
Moreover, the energy shockwave reaching three hundred miles was a result of the actions of the top-level powers on both sides.
Song Changming frowned, observing from a distance with the Spirit Rhinoceros Eye Technique, judging that this was just a small battlefield, where both sides were trapped in an unexpected encounter.
The Human Race had several thousand soldiers, while the Demon Race’s numbers exceeded one hundred thousand, more than ten times that of the Humans.
However, the Human side boasted a plethora of experts, the weakest soldier being at the Innate Martial Artist Level, while the demons were mixed, with many having low Tao Practices as Little Demons.
Thus, the battle appeared to be in favor of the Human side.
Ultimately, the outcome of this encounter would be decided by the top-level powerhouses on each side.
"This person’s strength is impressive, having refined over ninety drops of Grandmaster Essence Blood in his Martial Art Purple Mansion, not much weaker than Hua Sichen..." Song Changming locked his gaze on the strongest Human, musing to himself.
With the extreme perception of the Witch God Soul and the insight of the Spirit Rhinoceros Eye Technique, Song Changming could easily discern the strength of the target, gauging their level of cultivation.
On the other side, the Great Demon wielded demon thunder, clearly identifiable as a demon of Lei Province.
Its demon power surged, its demon thunder threatening to tear the world apart, its strength comparable to the likes of the King of the Nine Netherworlds or Celestial Venerable Mo, at the Demon King Level.
"I never expected Lei Province to be filled with such formidable beings upon my return..." Song Changming couldn’t help but remark.
If it had been like this when he sought the anomalous thunder in Lei Province years ago, he would never dare to return for a second time in the ensuing decades.
