Chapter 916 The World as a Tomb, No Assessment Required

Soon, she also discovered the Secret Realm.

Cui Baiying thought to herself, "Li Chang’an suddenly sped up, probably because of this Secret Realm. It seems my guess was correct. The Concentration Stone that Wang Qianling obtained in the Thousand Treasures Valley back then was definitely used by him."

Li Chang’an’s Divine Sense was likely much stronger than hers, otherwise, he wouldn’t have discovered the Secret Realm earlier—unless he possessed some special Treasure for detecting Secret Realms.

Before long, the two reached the end of the passage.

A vast, boundless Secret Realm World unfolded before their eyes. Unlike most Secret Realms, this world didn’t give them any sense of oppression or discomfort. The Heaven and Earth Spiritual Power here was almost identical to the outside world.

Looking out, the sky was high and the clouds were pale. The mountains were bright and the waters beautiful, resembling a worldly paradise.

Cui Baiying’s eyes brightened as she gazed into the distance. "To think that the senior from back then would use an entire Secret Realm as his tomb," she said softly.

"Daoist Cui, this world is vast. How about we first explore the depths of the Secret Realm?"

Li Chang’an had a faint feeling that the depths of the Secret Realm were where the true tomb lay.

Cui Baiying had no objections to this.

Her appraisal Skills were of no use for the time being, so she planned to stick close to Li Chang’an.

Li Chang’an carefully sensed his surroundings and added, "There’s no trace of Cultivator auras in this world, but there are quite a few Demon Beasts. There are plenty of Tier Three Demon Kings, and I’m not sure if there are any Tier Four Demon Monarchs. We should keep a low profile."

"No problem, Daoist Li. I’ll follow your lead," Cui Baiying readily agreed.

Right at this moment, Cui Yan, Lin Zhuoran, and the others also arrived at the end of the passage. Looking at this vast world, their eyes were equally filled with astonishment.

"Using a Secret Realm as a tomb, that senior truly had incredible methods."

"This world is so expansive; how are we supposed to search it?"

"Let’s check the depths first..."

After a brief discussion, they made the same decision as Li Chang’an.

But before anyone could move, an astonishing aura suddenly shot into the sky from not too far away, bearing down on everyone present with an indescribable sense of oppression.

"A Tier Four Demon Monarch!"

The faces of Cui Yan and the others collectively drained of color.

They never imagined they would encounter such an existence the moment they entered this world. Moreover, the Demon Monarch’s aura had already locked onto them. It was too late to escape even if they wanted to. They were nothing more than Golden Core Cultivators; how could their Escape Techniques compare to a Tier Four Demon Monarch, an entity comparable to a Nascent Soul Cultivator?

"Everyone, hold nothing back! Use your Tier Four Cards to intimidate that Demon Monarch first, let him know we won’t be easy targets!"

With a grave expression, Cui Yan summoned over a dozen Tier Four Talismans into his hands. The others also brought out their Tier Four Treasures.

In the blink of an eye, the Tier Four Demon Monarch’s aura arrived right before them. Accompanying it were hundreds of Demon Beasts of varying Tiers. These Demon Beasts, including the Demon Monarch, all belonged to the same species. Their appearances were almost identical, differing only in size and aura.

None of the others present recognized them. Only Li Chang’an had seen them in the Tier Five Beast Master’s insights provided by the Artifact Spirit.

"Two-winged Golden-eyed Tigers."

"Oh? You, a Human Race Cultivator, actually recognize us?"

Looks of surprise appeared on the faces of quite a few Demon Beasts.

One of them stepped forward from the pack. It wasn’t the Tier Four Demon Monarch, but rather a Quasi-Tier Four Demon King. He bore a pair of wings on his back and had pale golden tiger eyes. He exuded a faint, almost imperceptible regal majesty. His gaze swept over the crowd before finally settling on Li Chang’an.

"Human Race Cultivators, for what purpose have you come here?"

"Daoist, we have come for the legacy of the senior resting here."

Li Chang’an’s tone was calm. He avoided saying "tomb raiding," as it sounded too crude. Acquiring a senior’s legacy sounded much better.

He was different from the others. Facing a Tier Four Demon Monarch, he remained perfectly composed from start to finish, not even bothering to take out any defensive Treasures.

This wasn’t just because he possessed Nascent Soul strength himself, but more so because he noticed a problem with that Tier Four Demon Monarch. It wasn’t a living Tier Four Demon Monarch; it had been dead for who knows how many years. The only reason it could still move was that its corpse had been refined into a Flesh Puppet. And the Quasi-Tier Four Demon King currently speaking with Li Chang’an was its controller.

He questioned Li Chang’an once more, "Human Race Cultivator, do you know what this place is?"

"It is the resting place of a senior."

"Correct!" The Tiger King gave a slight nod.

He informed everyone that the depths of this Secret Realm were the slumbering grounds of their clan’s master. Their ancestors were among the Demon Beasts tamed by that senior of the Beast Taming Sect, having sworn an oath to guard his tomb for generations. If they wished to obtain their master’s legacy, they would have to pass a series of trials.

Hearing this, Cui Yan asked, "Daoist, what kind of trials are they?"

"Multiple trials!" The Tiger King didn’t elaborate, only providing a rough outline. The testing process was long and complex, assessing not only talent but also temperament and moral character. Fully clearing it would take at least half a month.

Upon hearing this, the crowd exchanged dismayed glances.

As it stood, they had no choice but to believe the Tiger King’s words. With their current strength, it was naturally impossible to force their way into the depths of the Secret Realm.

"Although we have many Tier Four Cards in our Storage Pouches, they can’t withstand a battle of attrition."

"Unless we ask our masters to intervene."

"But if we do that, the fortunes of this place will have absolutely nothing to do with us anymore..."

They deliberated amongst themselves, planning to send their servants to undergo the trials first. If the trials posed no major issues, they would take them personally, striving for the best possible results to secure the legacy.

However, before they could even finish discussing, the Tiger King’s attitude suddenly shifted.
