Chapter 535: Chapter 486: Inconceivable

Day eight.

At the Flying Boat’s normal speed, they should have reached Bazhou City long ago.

Yet, for several days straight, the Sky-Breaking Flying Boat had failed to enter the Bazhou Basin. Instead, it continued to fly aimlessly over the sprawling mountain range outside it.

On the deck of the Flying Boat, the Zhao Shuang sisters remained in the same posture as they had for days. Glimpses of their figures could be seen beneath their tattered clothes. As their Magical Power circulated, their gruesome wounds finally scabbed over, and the chaotic fluctuations of their power returned to normal.

Inside the cabin, which was still sealed off by an Array Prohibition, Chu Mu had lost his usual calm and detached demeanor. Under the effects of the Spiritual Radiance Blessing, his focus was absolute, and his expression held a fanatical, almost crazed intensity not seen in a long time.

This Bloodline Divine Technique seemed to have completely exceeded his expectations.

His Divine Sense remained fixed deep within Wangcai’s bloodline, observing the Bloodline Divine Technique as it circulated. He conducted one experiment after another, recording all the details of the technique onto the Jade Scroll in his hand.

At some point, Chu Mu seemed to snap back to his senses, though a hint of the Spiritual Radiance still lingered in his eyes. He looked baffled, yet his gaze burned with an excitement he couldn’t conceal.

’Simply divine...’

Chu Mu let out a long breath as his eyes slowly regained their calm. He gazed at the Jade Scroll in his hand, the one recording the details of this Bloodline Divine Technique. After a moment’s contemplation, he extended his Divine Sense into it. A series of fragmented and incomplete Divine Technique Inscriptions materialized within his perception.

It was just as he had suspected years ago. The existence of Divine Techniques was similar to a cultivator’s Magic Techniques. To cultivate a Magic Technique, a cultivator had to construct a model using its corresponding Inscriptions. The principle was much like building a precision machine, where individual components are assembled to create the final model.

Once the model was complete, the cultivator would use their Magical Power as a fuel source. Their Divine Sense would then drive that power into the model, allowing them to cast all kinds of unique Magic Techniques. The final result was the vast and bizarre array of techniques seen in the world.

Bloodline Divine Techniques, it seemed, operated on the same principle.

The only difference was that Bloodline Divine Techniques used the bloodline itself as the primary power source, with Demonic Power serving merely in a support role. Moreover, the model for a Bloodline Divine Technique was far more complex than that of a Magic Technique—and far more advanced!

From what he could observe, the Bloodline Divine Technique model deep within Wangcai’s bloodline seemed to be composed of countless combinations of Inscriptions, with infinite variations.

Every time he looked, its appearance was different. Every single line held a myriad of potential evolutions, making it impossible to grasp the complete picture.

Because of this constant flux, the Divine Technique model remained hidden deep within the bloodline. Each time it activated, it drew power from the bloodline to produce an effect so profound that even he found it almost inconceivable.

Over more than ten days of observation, he conducted various experiments on this Bloodline Divine Technique. The results were perfectly clear, and just as unbelievable.

He had tried taking a Jade Bottle of Elixirs, sealing it with a Sealing Technique, traveling a thousand li to hide it deep in the mountains, and even setting up an additional Array Prohibition to further isolate and seal it.

A distance of a thousand li was already far beyond the maximum range of his Divine Sense.

And that wasn’t even counting the multiple layers of Array Prohibitions sealing it off!

As for Wangcai, its strength had always been its physical body. While its Divine Soul wasn’t underdeveloped, it was nothing special either—just at an average Tier Three Early Stage level.

But when he let Wangcai track it, the beast crossed the thousand li as if there were no obstacles at all, pinpointing the heavily sealed and isolated Jade Bottle of Elixirs with utter precision.

He even found a leftover Heavenly Deceit Pill from his time in the East Lake Secret Realm. Without Wangcai knowing, he took the pill. It altered his Divine Soul Aura—his unique spiritual identifier—creating what should have been a flawless and undetectable disguise.

Back in the East Lake Secret Realm, that pill had allowed him to fool everyone. Yet, against Wangcai’s Bloodline Divine Technique, the disguise might as well have not existed.

From a thousand li away, it still came straight for him...

His subsequent experiments all yielded the same results.

’It seems... aside from the limitation of distance, Wangcai’s Bloodline Divine Technique can ignore all forms of disguise, concealment, and obstruction to lock onto any target with perfect accuracy.’

’Be it a person or an object, as long as it’s within this Cultivation Immortal Realm and inside the tracking range of Wangcai’s Bloodline Divine Technique, nothing can escape it!’

’Twelve hundred li...’

Chu Mu murmured, his gaze on Wangcai growing even more fervent.

According to his experimental results, the distance of twelve hundred li was probably the current maximum tracking range of Wangcai’s Bloodline Divine Technique.

Within twelve hundred li, its accuracy was absolute.

Beyond that range, the results became uncertain.

And Bloodline Divine Techniques, much like a cultivator’s Lifebound Treasure, generally had the potential to grow stronger along with the Cultivation of the cultivator or Demon Beast.

This range, clearly, could also grow.

However...

The Divine Technique had no name.

Despite his extensive research and deep understanding of bloodlines, he had scoured all of his accumulated knowledge and found no record of a Bloodline Divine Technique like Wangcai’s.

Although there were many similar tracking-type Bloodline Divine Techniques in the Vast Sea Cultivation Immortal World, none of them originated from the Vajra Wolf Bloodline, and their effects were all vastly different.

At the very least, he had never heard of anything remotely like Wangcai’s new Divine Technique.

’Could it be... a mutation resulting from the bloodline fusion?’

Chu Mu’s eyes flickered as a theory formed in his mind.

As far as he knew, the path of bloodline Cultivation in the Vast Sea Cultivation Immortal World wasn’t based on the kind of bloodline fusion he had devised.

The most common method was bloodline transplantation, the very first method he had considered.

The Vast Sea Cultivation Immortal World had existed for tens of thousands of years, and most people were born with a Demon Beast bloodline. Much like with Spirit Roots, where most cultivators had poor Spirit Root Talent, the vast majority of these were Low Tier bloodlines.

Prodigies like those with Celestial Spirit Roots were always an extremely small minority.

The only difference was that Spirit Roots were difficult to change, while bloodlines were easy to change.

If a bloodline was inferior, one could transplant a new High Tier bloodline later in life, thus completing a transformation of one’s bloodline aptitude.

Wangcai’s journey, however, was clearly different.

Wangcai had started as nothing more than a common stray dog from the mortal world.

After it followed him to the mortal city of Jingmen, and once he had resources to spare, he finally found the time to begin cultivating it.

It was from that point on that Wangcai slowly began to transcend its origins as a common dog.

It wasn’t until he escaped from Jade Emperor Valley and reached Water Heaven Workshop that Wangcai completed its first transformation, changing from a common dog into a Tier One Demon Beast, a Tier One Black Mountain Wolf.

After the East Lake Secret Realm, when he obtained the Vajra Wolf Bloodline, he used bloodline transplantation to complete Wangcai’s second transformation.

It transformed from the Black Mountain Wolf bloodline to the Vajra Wolf Bloodline, and at the same time completed its transformation from a Tier One Demon Beast to a Tier Two Demon Beast.

Later, after he arrived in the Vast Sea, his understanding of bloodlines deepened. He even developed his own theory of bloodline lineage, which provided the detailed theoretical support for his Secret Skill of bloodline fusion.

It wasn’t until after his Core Formation that he used the bloodline fusion technique to complete Wangcai’s bloodline fusion, which also began Wangcai’s third transformation.

Wangcai’s cultivation advanced from Tier Two to Tier Three, and its Vajra Wolf Bloodline transformed into the Celestial Tier Vajra Wolf King bloodline.

Wangcai’s bloodline evolution was undoubtedly an exception among exceptions.

It wouldn’t be impossible for some unknown mutation to have occurred as a result.

After all, as far as he knew, both the Vajra Wolf and the Vajra Wolf King bloodlines—one evolving from the other—were renowned as bloodlines of slaughter.

Their bodies were like forged metal, their predatory instincts were second nature, and they excelled in battle and slaughter—they were practically cold, hard killing machines.

They had absolutely no connection to Tracking Techniques.

Common dogs, on the other hand, had extremely sensitive noses. He also knew that Wangcai’s former Black Mountain Wolf bloodline had a variant branch—another Low Tier bloodline called the Hundred Treasures Hound—that was quite skilled at tracking.

They were quite common in the Vast Sea Cultivation Immortal World.

However, the tracking ability of a Hundred Treasures Hound was extremely limited and could easily be replaced by many common Tracking Secret Skills.

It couldn’t even begin to compare with Wangcai’s new Bloodline Divine Technique.

As his thoughts churned, Chu Mu’s Divine Sense swept through his Storage Space, and the mountain-like pile of Spiritual Materials and Objects appeared in his perception.

With a wave of his hand, a torrent of Jade Boxes rained down with a great CLATTER, piling up into small mountains inside the cabin in the blink of an eye.

Chu Mu formed a hand seal, and a shower of Spiritual Light descended. One by one, the seals on the stacked Jade Boxes were undone.

A dazzling light burst forth from within the cabin as all sorts of Spiritual Plants and Objects, both rare and common, were revealed. A myriad of strange and wonderful Spiritual Objects appeared, their unique auras immediately intertwining.

Wangcai seemed confused, raising its head to look at Chu Mu as if asking something.

Seeing Wangcai’s puzzled look, Chu Mu chuckled.

"Memorize these auras. I’m counting on that dog nose of yours."

At these words, Wangcai huffed twice and immediately lifted its head high, a smug look on its face.

But a sharp rap on the head from Chu Mu made its head droop instantly. It let out two resentful whimpers and began twitching its nose, sniffing this and that. As it wandered through the piles of Spiritual Objects, it continued to whimper from time to time, clearly still complaining.

Chu Mu shot it a glance and couldn’t help but laugh. He gave it a light nudge with his foot and said, half-exasperated, "When we get back to Chixia, I’ll find you a few female dogs with Upper Grade bloodlines..."

Wangcai’s eyes lit up. It whipped its head around to look at Chu Mu, blinking its eyes, as if confirming if he was serious.

"Relax, I keep my word."

Wangcai let out two low growls, its expression visibly brightening. It pranced lightly through the piles of Spiritual Materials, its tail wagging so furiously it was a blur.

Chu Mu found it hard to stifle his laughter. The little mutt really was amusing.

But then, as if he thought of something, his gaze shifted to the deck outside the cabin, and his smile visibly faded.

He stared for a moment in thought, then waved his hand. A projection materialized before him, showing the image of the youth who had brought him that unexpected windfall.

The projection flickered. The youth’s every word and action from the moment he stepped into the True Understanding Pavilion were displayed in the projected image.

Finally, the youth took out that piece of Nine Heavens Profound Gold, exchanged it for a Puppet and two Spiritual Artifacts, and left the True Understanding Pavilion. The projection then froze.

Although he knew the youth’s true face, he didn’t have a trace of his Divine Soul Aura, so he couldn’t confirm his identity.

But this person had wreaked havoc on the Overlord Saber Alliance, fighting and killing. It was impossible that he hadn’t exposed his Divine Soul Aura at some point.

Chu Mu pondered for a moment. As the projection dissipated, his gaze once again fixed on Wangcai.

’And now, he possessed what could only be described as an unbelievable tracking Divine Technique...’
