Chapter 468: Chapter 430: Chixia Named Chu, True Understanding Expands

Perhaps it was because he had just revealed his cultivation. Though Chixia was still thousands of miles away, countless teams of cultivators patrolled the route.

However, they all merely glanced from a distance. After a scanning wave, likely from an artifact, flickered over him, they would all retreat.

His journey was unimpeded. Before long, a sky filled with Flying Boats coming and going in a show of bustling activity—Chixia Port—came into Chu Mu’s view.

Entering the port was just as smooth. After so many years, Chu Mu had finally set foot on Chixia Island once more.

A crimson Tunneling Light shot up from the port and streaked across the island’s sky. In just a moment, it disappeared into the dazzling, fantastical Chixia City.

At the city’s edge, Chu Mu slowly descended onto a street. He reined in his aura slightly and began to walk.

Compared to the past, Chixia City was now filled with a grim, murderous air, a result of the fierce war raging in the Chixia Sea Area.

Though the streets were still bustling, the cultivators coming and going had completely lost their former air of tranquility.

The Demon Beast Bloodline was inherently violent. On ordinary days, one might be able to suppress the bloodline’s negative influence through various means.

But once they were stained by the scent of blood, that instinctive violence would inevitably become palpable, no matter how much they tried to restrain it.

Looking upon Chixia now was like entering a city of Demon Beasts. The cultivators filling the streets were like individual Demon Beasts of varying cultivation.

For some reason, Chu Mu was suddenly reminded of the Demon Realm, reminded of the demonized Capital of the Great Chu from all those years ago.

’If a person’s Demonization means they have Fallen into Demon...’

’...then aren’t these Bloodline Cultivators also undergoing a form of bestial transformation?’

’Can they still be considered... human?’

Chu Mu’s gaze flickered as he continued down the street. Under the faintly revealed aura of his Golden Core Realm Cultivation, his path through the city remained unimpeded. Before the oppressive weight of a realm as vast as the Celestial Abyss, even the most uncontrollable violent impulses would be rendered utterly docile.

Chu Mu walked at a leisurely pace. Everything he saw along the streets slowly formed a clear picture in his mind.

From the city’s atmosphere alone, he could gauge the tension of the current situation.

’At least,’ he thought, ’it seems Chixia City has yet to descend into panic. The battlefront in the Chixia Sea Area must still be holding steady.’

The ruling structure of Chixia Island had also clearly changed. What was once an extremely lenient environment had now been completely tightened, with defenses on high alert.

As he strolled through the city, the number of hidden eyes watching him from the shadows steadily grew. Chu Mu was well aware that the news of his Core Formation and his arrival in Chixia had likely already spread far and wide.

After all, a Core Formation Cultivator was a figure who could not be ignored anywhere in the Cultivation Immortal Realm.

Furthermore, here in Chixia, he was practically a local.

His achievement of Core Formation meant that, despite the grim situation, as long as Chixia had not been overrun by Demon Beasts, the distribution of power and interests on the island was bound for a major reshuffle.

This wasn’t about anything else; it stemmed from the most fundamental rule of the Cultivation Immortal Realm: the strong reign supreme.

His thoughts drifted for a moment. Chu Mu remained composed as he continued to wander the city. After nearly a full day, once he had formed a complete picture from his own observations, he finally headed toward the True Understanding Pavilion.

By this time—or rather, ever since Chu Mu had passed the first checkpoint on his way to Chixia—the True Understanding Pavilion had already closed for business.

Within Chixia City, any Foundation Establishment Cultivators who had crossed paths with Chu Mu and were still on the island had gathered at the True Understanding Pavilion. The city’s various merchant guilds, large and small, had also dispatched representatives to wait there.

The entire street had been cordoned off. Hundreds of cultivators gathered outside the True Understanding Pavilion. With varying expressions, they all waited in silence, ready to welcome Chu Mu, the newly minted Golden Core True Master.

"Congratulations, Senior, on achieving Core Formation!"

The moment Chu Mu appeared at the end of the street, a surge of five-colored auspicious clouds and splendid, gilded light shot into the sky. A cheer resounded through more than half of Chixia City.

Outside the True Understanding Pavilion, hundreds of cultivators bowed deeply in salute, lowering their heads before a Golden Core master.

Slightly taken aback, Chu Mu lifted them up with a wave of his hand and laughed heartily.

"HAHAHA... The joy is ours to share! I hope you all will form your own Immortal Golden Cores soon, and may the Immortal Dao prosper for us all."

"Chang Er, be quick and invite our fellow Daoists inside to have a seat."

"Esteemed seniors, please!"

Chang Er reacted swiftly, leading a few of the pavilion’s attendants and Chu Mu’s nominal disciples to busily greet the guests.

"True Master, after you."

After some polite deferrals from the cultivators, Chu Mu, surrounded by the crowd, finally stepped into the True Understanding Pavilion.

The second floor of the True Understanding Pavilion had been designed as a gathering place for cultivators from its inception. Even so, with hundreds of them now surging in, it began to feel quite crowded.

Fortunately, the tables, chairs, wine, and food upstairs had all been meticulously prepared in advance. The cultivators took their seats in an orderly fashion, with Chu Mu at the head. After an exchange of pleasantries, he followed custom and briefly shared some of his experiences with Core Formation. The True Understanding Pavilion remained bustling for nearly the entire night before the cultivators finally departed in an orderly manner.

"Send out a notice. Due to the special circumstances, the Golden Core Ceremony will not be held."

After all the cultivators who had come to welcome him dispersed, Chu Mu called Chang Er over and gave an order.

Chang Er, who had been all smiles, was stunned to hear this. Though he didn’t understand, he didn’t dare question the decision and quickly acknowledged the order.

"Brother Mu."

"Brother Chu... Uncle..."

Now that the crowd had dispersed, Xu Yuan and his family hurried forward to pay their respects.

"I heard you’ve become an Honored Guest Elder for the Chen Family?"

Chu Mu took a light sip of tea, his gaze falling on the beaming Xu Yuan as he asked the question casually.
