Eternal Forge: Starting with a SSS Rank talent and a Myth Rank Class
Chapter 144- Purple Lightning Spirit Body
Chapter 144: Chapter 144- Purple Lightning Spirit Body
Purple lightning flickered faintly behind Cindy’s eyes.
Her whole body stood motionless at the center of the scorched circle, bare and blackened, not a single muscle moving.
Thin arcs of lightning still danced across her skin. Her hair had changed color entirely, shifting from its original shade to a deep red threaded through with hints of purple. Her eyes had changed too — the once-dark pupils had turned a solid, vivid purple, and if anyone looked closely enough, they’d have noticed the color wasn’t the only thing different. Faint symbols seemed to drift somewhere inside them, barely visible.
Both Leo and the Guardian let out a breath they hadn’t realized they’d been holding, relieved just to see her still standing.
Cindy shifted slightly, and a series of soft cracking sounds followed the movement.
Leo’s breath caught in his throat, certain for a terrible second that something inside her was breaking apart.
But before the thought could fully form, the charred layer of skin covering her body split and began peeling away in thin sheets. Beneath it, new skin emerged — pale, flawless, untouched by anything that had come before.
The old skin fell away piece by piece, starting at her face, moving down her neck and shoulders, along her arms, all the way down to her toes.
It looked, more than anything, like she was shedding an old shell entirely.
Cindy stood there in a daze through all of it, faint arcs of lightning still flickering off her skin every few seconds.
Then she swayed, staggering slightly on her feet.
"Ugh..." she groaned.
She lifted her hands and stared at them, fingers trembling, before bringing one up to touch her own face.
"Ow! Ow, ow — it stings!" Tears welled up in her eyes all over again.
The Guardian shook her head, watching the whole display unfold.
Leo blinked, caught off guard. "Did she just shock her own face with her own hand?" He let out a wry smile, unable to help himself.
The girl had just survived being buried under a literal mountain of lightning, and now here she was, tearing up over a little spark from her own fingertips.
Cindy rubbed at her arm next, then hissed sharply in pain again. "Ow! Everything hurts..."
She let out a long wail. "Wahhh, Brother Leo, everything hurts!" She tried to take a step forward, but the moment her bare foot touched the stone, she yelped again. "Ahh — it’s hot! No, it’s cold! What’s wrong with this floor?!"
Her skin was as sensitive as a newborn’s right now, every nerve raw and overreacting to the slightest touch.
Then she glanced down and realized, for the first time, that she was completely naked.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhh!" she screamed, scrambling to cover herself with both arms.
The Guardian pressed a palm to her own face and sighed before walking over and draping a cloak around Cindy’s shoulders.
Leo gave a wry smile at the whole scene unfolding in front of him.
"Stand still," the Guardian said.
"Wahh — Sister Guardian, even the cloak stings—" Cindy started, before the Guardian smacked her lightly on the head to cut her off.
"Endure it," the Guardian said flatly.
Cindy sniffled inside the cloak, only her teary face still peeking out from beneath the fabric.
Leo walked over as well, letting out a quiet sigh. "You had us worried for a while there, you know."
Cindy sniffed again before answering. "I didn’t mean to... huhu..."
"Did you get some notifications for of all that?" Leo asked her.
Cindy checked her logs and nodded. "Yeah. There’s a bunch of them."
She pulled one up and showed it to him directly.

[Talent Awakened — Heaven Rewards the Diligent Heart]
[Rank: A]
[DESCRIPTION]
When the heart commits itself fully to a path, holding to it with unwavering diligence, even the most difficult hidden road will eventually open on its own. No wall, however high it rises, can stand forever in your way, and no darkness, however deep it grows, can ever fully smother your sight. Every drop of sweat you spend is quietly etched into the fabric of existence itself, and no effort given in true sincerity is ever lost to time, no matter how small it seemed in the moment. Your labor slowly hardens into a blade sharp enough to cut through fate itself, and your persistence, step by step, becomes the very road unfolding beneath your feet. In the end, hard work remains the one talent that never once abandons the person willing to carry it all the way through.
Leo read through the description carefully. On the surface it sounded almost too simple — no listed active effects, no passive bonuses attached to it anywhere. But the longer he sat with the wording, the more weight it seemed to carry. It read less like a skill and more like a promise: that even without any sudden boost or shortcut, as long as Cindy kept working, she would eventually get exactly where she was meant to go.
Did the Guardian already know she had this? Leo thought back to what she’d said earlier — that Cindy’s talent could carry her all the way to the peak of the universe. He glanced over at the Guardian, who was still fussing over Cindy.
"Did you already know she had this talent?" Leo asked.
"Of course," the Guardian said, like it was simply obvious.
Cindy stared harder at the notification. "Diligent Heart? Rank A?"
She looked up at Leo, clearly lost. "Brother Leo, what does this even mean? I don’t understand any of it. There’s no skill listed, no effect like what my grandfather had..."
Her expression wavered, like she might cry again. "Is this... a bad talent?"
Leo nearly choked. "No — it’s a good one. A really good one. It basically means if you keep working hard, you’re guaranteed to succeed eventually."
Cindy only looked more confused by that explanation.
Leo scrolled further down the notification list, and something far more shocking appeared.
[Ding!]
[Physique Awakened — Purple Lightning Spirit Body]
[Rank: SS]
[A supreme vessel born for those who walk the path of the storm — not by bloodline, but by endurance.]
[Attributes]
VIT +90
Lightning Resistance +90%
Lightning Affinity +65%
Mana Regeneration +25% (near ambient lightning: +100%)
Nerve Sensitivity +100%
[Passive Effects]
[Pristine Recovery] — wounds close clean via lightning-threaded repair. No scar tissue ever forms. (Does NOT reduce damage taken; bleeds like anyone. Recovery only.)
[Current Sense] — feels live charge within ~30 paces as pressure on skin and teeth.
[Dual Core Reserve] — lightning mana core holds a small separate charge pool. Trickles into spells/skills first; refills passively from ambient lightning. Runs dry in dead-calm rooms.
[New Effect Unlocked — Neural Storm] Lightning no longer merely courses through the body—it floods the mind. Every bolt that enters the Lightning Spirit Body sharpens thought itself. Neural pathways are bathed in living current, accelerating cognition far beyond mortal limits. Reaction speed, processing power, and instantaneous comprehension rise in direct proportion to the intensity of the storm within. In battle, time itself seems to slow. In cultivation, insights strike like thunder. The greater the lightning absorbed, the clearer and faster the mind becomes.
[Locked — Discharge]
"Hisss—" The air went dry in Leo’s throat as he stared at Cindy in open surprise.
"It says you’ve got a new core now. Can you actually feel it?" Leo asked.
Cindy pressed a hand against her stomach and nodded slowly. "Yeah. There’s... something extra there now."
The Guardian nodded along. "That’s the lightning mana core that formed when you fully integrated the circulation method. The process forced your physique to change all the way down to the cellular level."
"Cellular level..." Cindy repeated, her face going pale. "Is that why my skin fell off?"
The Guardian nodded again, matter-of-fact about it.
"Wahhh — that’s terrifying. I never want to go through that again."
Leo let out a long sigh at that. He’d watched her body get torn apart and rebuilt right in front of him, so the system’s clinical wording felt disturbingly accurate, if anything.
He was about to scroll further through the notifications when the whole chamber suddenly shook. The lightning mana vein erupted again, and a stray spark leapt off Cindy’s body, arcing straight toward the vein and from there into the affinity-testing pillar nearby.
A heavy pressure flooded the chamber almost instantly — though strangely, only Leo seemed to feel it. Cindy and the Guardian stood completely unaffected.
Right after that, the lightning flared violently, every pillar in the chamber lighting up at once as the whole room filled with blinding purple light.
A new notification surfaced.
[Ding~]
[Lightning Compatibility — Re-measured.]
[Legendary Lightning Compatibility — Surpassed.]
[Mythic Lightning Compatibility — Confirmed.]
Leo went completely silent.
He stared at the notification panel hovering over the mana well, then over at Cindy, then back to the well, then finally over at the Guardian. For a long moment, he had no words at all.
The Guardian had already said Cindy carried the potential to become her successor — and now, apparently, that potential had just been confirmed and upgraded in real time.
The Guardian’s smile widened, something close to genuine delight spreading across her face. But the sight of that smile made the hair on the back of Leo’s neck stand up. Somehow, he had the distinct feeling Cindy was about to face a brutal road ahead.
Cindy looked back and forth between them, then pointed at herself. "Eh — eh?! I have mythic-rank affinity now? Does that mean I could actually get a mythic-rank class?" she asked, eyes wide as she looked toward the Guardian.
The Guardian nodded, smiling.
"Yes. You now qualify to attempt my master’s inheritance. But you’re still nowhere near strong enough yet. You’ll need to keep training, and hard," the Guardian added.
Leo looked around at the scorched devastation still smoking across the chamber. "Why did the lightning try to assimilate her on its own like that, though? Her body wasn’t ready for it, and her level definitely wasn’t high enough either, right?"
"Yeah. Honestly, I don’t know why it happened either. That was genuinely reckless, however you look at it," the Guardian admitted.
Cindy sniffled, her eyes welling up again. "Did I almost die back there?"
Leo shook his head firmly. "You’re fine. Don’t worry about it anymore."
The Guardian nodded in agreement.
Leo scrolled further through the remaining notifications.
