Eternal Emperor's Path to Ascension

Chapter 455: Immortal Emperor Realm Connate Providence

  • Next Chapter

Silence descended upon the surroundings.

The enormous blue eye hovered above Tian Yongheng, its pupil reflecting the endless River of Time. Countless principles of the Dao of Time flowed across its surface, weaving together the past, present, and future into patterns that no ordinary Immortal could hope to comprehend.

For a long while, it did not respond.

Then, that vast voice resounded within Tian Yongheng’s consciousness once again.

"I have neither the need nor the intention to tell you."

Tian Yongheng’s expression stiffened slightly.

He had anticipated that the other party might refuse to answer, but hearing such an indifferent response still left him feeling somewhat helpless.

The existence before him was simply too terrifying.

Even after becoming an Earth Immortal, he could not perceive the slightest trace of its true nature, let alone determine whether he possessed even the slightest possibility of escaping.

However, before he could consider his next words, the voice continued.

"Nevertheless, I am curious about something."

The enormous blue eye shifted ever so slightly.

"How did you manage to stabilize your mind?"

Tian Yongheng’s heart skipped a beat at the question.

"Your previous state of mind had already begun to collapse. Your conviction wavered, your Dao Heart became unstable, and you nearly abandoned the very purpose of your existence."

The voice remained indifferent, as if it was describing an insignificant natural phenomenon.

"Yet, in such a short period, you managed to identify the flaw in the world and recover your composure."

A brief pause followed before it spoke again.

"More interestingly, I could not perceive your final words."

Tian Yongheng’s pupils contracted sharply.

"I could hear everything you said before that moment. Your thoughts, your doubts, and even the slightest fluctuations in your emotions were all within my perception."

The blue eye glimmered faintly.

"However, when you declared that you could not be deceived, there was something preventing me from perceiving the meaning behind your final words."

Tian Yongheng remained silent, understanding what had happened.

The System was hiding its existence.

More accurately, it was shielding the karma associated with its existence, preventing even this incomprehensible being from discovering its presence through him.

The fact that the System could accomplish something like this was both reassuring and terrifying.

Reassuring, because it meant that the System’s concealment was far more extraordinary than he had imagined.

Terrifying, because even with the System’s protection, he was still standing before an existence whose mere gaze could threaten to destroy his consciousness.

He had previously wondered whether the System could be considered a treasure, an inheritance, or some form of supreme artifact.

Now, he was beginning to suspect that such descriptions might not even come close to explaining its true nature.

After all, what kind of treasure could conceal its existence from a being that seemed capable of observing the endless River of Time, and what kind of inheritance could possess a mechanism that even this existence could not fully penetrate?

Tian Yongheng suppressed his thoughts, maintaining a cautious silence.

He did not know how much the other party could perceive, and he had no need to test the limits of that perception.

Fortunately, the existence did not seem particularly interested in forcing him to answer.

Instead, its voice sounded once again, causing the surrounding darkness to tremble faintly.

"That karma is rather interesting. It operates through a mechanism similar to that special Dao Field you possess. Both conceal their existence through an unusual structure of karma, preventing beings who have reached a certain level beyond their protected target from perceiving them directly."

Tian Yongheng’s expression remained unchanged, but his heart sank even further.

The other party had discovered the connection between the System’s concealment and his Dao Field.

Even if it could not perceive the System itself, it could still identify the characteristics of the protection surrounding it.

That alone was enough to make him wary.

"The Dao Field, however, is comparatively straightforward. Its existence follows a mechanism that I can partially understand."

The blue eye gazed down at him, falling silent briefly before continuing.

"The other one is different. It is as though its very existence has been excluded from the scope of certain forms of perception."

Tian Yongheng felt a chill run down his spine.

Excluded from the scope of perception?

What did that even mean?

Was the System concealed within the River of Time, or did it exist outside the River of Time entirely?

Could it be that the System did not belong to the same category of existence as the beings he had encountered throughout his cultivation journey?

Unfortunately, he had no answers, and judging from the other party’s words, even this terrifying existence did not possess a complete understanding of the mechanism.

For the first time since their conversation began, Tian Yongheng felt a faint sense of reassurance.

At least there was something the other party could not fully understand.

However, that feeling did not last long.

The voice suddenly changed direction.

"You are also quite interesting."

Tian Yongheng’s expression grew solemn at these words.

"Your circumstances are extraordinary. You possess the backing of a mysterious great power, yet your own existence is equally unusual."

The blue eye seemed to have narrowed ever so slightly.

"Your Connate Providence has reached at least the level of an Immortal Emperor."

Tian Yongheng’s blood ran cold.

He had always known that his Constitution and various Innate Talents were extraordinary, especially the Five-Elemental Divine Spiritual Physique, which seemed to be an Immortal Emperor Realm Connate Providence.

At the same time, his Sword Heart, his Primordial Meridians, and his Primordial Bones were all far beyond what ordinary cultivators could hope to possess, being among the most top tier Innate Talents in the entire Great World.

However, all these talents were granted to him by the System as well, and even his Providence was concealed by the System!

How did this being manage to find out that he possessed Immortal Emperor level Connate Providence?

Tian Yongheng suppressed the countless questions emerging within his heart; he could not afford to reveal too much.

Fortunately, the enormous blue eye did not appear to have identified the exact nature of his various Connate Providences.

It seemed capable of perceiving their extraordinary quality and estimating their level, but not necessarily determining their specific origins or how many there truly were.

Otherwise, it would not have described his Connate Providence in such general terms.

The Five-Elemental Divine Spiritual Physique, Sword Heart, Primordial Meridians, and Primordial Bones were all extraordinary, but their individual characteristics were distinct.

Perhaps the other party could perceive that he possessed several remarkable innate qualities without being able to distinguish them clearly.

That was the only reasonable explanation Tian Yongheng could formulate.

Still, the revelation was deeply unsettling.

If even the existence before him could identify his Connate Providence as being at least at the Immortal Emperor level, then what would happen if he encountered a being capable of seeing through their exact nature?

Would the System’s concealment be sufficient, or would he eventually attract the attention of existences even more terrifying than the one before him?

Tian Yongheng did not dare to think too deeply about it.

There was, however, one detail that brought him a small measure of relief.

The other party had not mentioned his Jade Pure Bloodline.

That bloodline originated from the Celestial Venerable of Primordial Beginning, the Primeval Lord of Heaven, a mythical existence whose true level was beyond anything Tian Yongheng could presently comprehend.

Even the term Immortal Emperor would not be sufficient to describe such a being. That was undoubtedly an Unspeakable Existence.

It was hardly surprising that the bloodline inherited from such an existence could escape the perception of the blue eye.
