Eternal Emperor's Path to Ascension
Chapter 436: Old Monsters of the Lower Realm
The moment the Guardian Deity’s voice spread across the battlefield, the ancient powerhouses of the Lower Realm finally began moving.
They had been waiting for this moment, and now that the Upper Realm had begun sending its strongest Vagrant Immortals and Half Immortals to suppress the Lower Realm’s supreme prodigies, there was no reason for them to remain hidden any longer.
The Cleansing had reached a level where these old monsters could finally participate freely.
...
*Boom!*
In the distant Southern Continent, an ancient mountain suddenly exploded into smithereens.
A terrifying aura surged into the heavens as a figure wearing a grey daoist robe slowly walked out from within.
He had an aged appearance, white hair and beard hanging loosely around his body, yet his eyes were incomparably sharp.
Seven silver swords circled around him like stars, and the moment he stepped forward, the seven swords trembled simultaneously, letting out a sharp, almost excited cry.
Each of these seven swords had clearly already given birth to spirituality, possessing Sword Spirits.
*Clang!*
A boundless Sword Intent erupted, full of the concept of the starry sky.
Silver Stream Sword Immortal, the current generation sword ancestor of the Seven Star Sword Sect!
An Upper Realm Vagrant Immortal who had just descended into the region suddenly turned his head, his expression changing.
"Another Vagrant Immortal?"
The Silver Stream Sword Immortal did not answer, the seven swords pointing at the Vagrant Immortal.
*Clang!*
Seven colored sword lights flashed like a vast rainbow, illuminating the sky for millions of miles.
The Upper Realm Vagrant Immortal’s expression changed drastically as he raised his Dharma Treasure.
*Bang!*
However, the next instant, the Dharma Treasure shattered into pieces as the sword lights continued forward unabated.
*Pfft!*
Immortal Divine Blood sprayed across the heavens.
The Upper Realm Vagrant Immortal was forced backwards, his chest split open by a terrifying sword wound, a mysterious stellar Sword Qi lingering there, preventing his Indestructible Immortal Body from recovering.
The Silver Stream Sword Immortal stepped forward, his calm voice echoing across countless miles of heaven and earth.
"Come, this old man has been hiding for too long. You are perfecting for sharpening my Sword Intent after so many years."
Another battle between two Vagrant Immortals erupted.
And this was only one battlefield.
Meanwhile, in the Western Continent.
A golden buddhist light suddenly illuminated the sky as an ancient female figure stepped out from it.
The Supreme Bodhisattva’s white robes fluttered gently, and her expression remained compassionate as always.
However, her eyes were no longer as peaceful as before.
A powerful Upper Realm Half Immortal had just slaughtered dozens of Lower Realm cultivators in her vision.
The Supreme Bodhisattva slowly raised her palm.
"Amitabha."
A golden buddhist seal appeared in the sky.
*Boom!*
The Half Immortal’s body was directly pressed into the earth, and before he could struggle, another palm descended.
*Bang!*
His physical body shattered.
Using a life saving treasure to preserve himself, his Nascent Soul attempted to escape, yet countless buddhist characters appeared around it, binding it directly like chains.
The soul was directly suppressed before being crushed into nothingness, not even having a chance to atone for its sins.
The Supreme Bodhisattva looked towards the battlefield, her eyes becoming slightly colder.
"The younger generation of our Lower Realm is indeed formidable, but now, it’s the older generation’s turn to exert some effort."
*Boom!*
A brilliant golden light, full of purity and benevolence, erupted unreservedly, locking onto the rampaging Upper Realm Half Immortals as she entered the battlefield.
...
In the Central Continent.
The Blade Saint, having completed his breakthrough to the Vagrant Immortal Realm, slowly opened his eyes.
His entire demeanor seemed to have undergone a change after his ascension to immortality.
In his originally cold, demonic yet reserved presence, there was now a faint sense of clarity and detachment.
His Sword Intent similarly underwent a massive transformation, possessing a destructive, heaven collapsing quality.
His dark robes fluttered wildly as a divine sword conjured in his hand.
The next moment, he waved it almost casually, as if testing the waters.
A terrifying blade light immediately split the heavens apart for over a million miles.
An Upper Realm Half Immortal who was advancing towards a group of Lower Realm Immortal Ascension cultivators suddenly stopped, his pupils contracting wildly.
The blade light rapidly enlarged in his vision, yet his position as was if fixed in space, unable to move as he watched the blade light descended helplessly.
*Pfft!*
His body was split in two, body and soul.
The Blade Saint stepped forward, his expression cold.
"Next."
He only said one word, but it carried a terrifying killing intent that chilled the hearts of all Upper Realm cultivators around him.
The Upper Realm Half Immortals surrounding him became solemn, retreating far away.
A Vagrant Immortal was a Vagrant Immortal, no matter if they were from the Lower Realm or the Upper Realm.
It was not their place to attack a Vagrant Immortal as Half Immortals.
However, the most shocking battlefield was actually in the Heavenly Region.
*Boom!*
Three Upper Realm Vagrant Immortals were pressed beneath the feet of a young man floating in the sky.
The earth beneath them had already collapsed for hundreds of thousands of miles, and their expressions were filled with disbelief.
Tian Yun stood above them, his white robes fluttering gently and his expression calm. There was not even a single trace of exertion on his face.
"Impossible..."
One of the Vagrant Immortals struggled.
"How can a newly ascended Lower Realm Vagrant Immortal possess such strength!?"
Tian Yun looked down at him, his voice composed as he softly muttered.
"Lower Realm Vagrant Immortal? Is that all you can see?"
The next instant, he raised one finger, shooting out a beam of Sword Qi.
*Swoosh!*
The heavens split open like the opening of chaos, the Sword Qi stretching across millions of miles, annihilating everything along its path.
One of the three Vagrant Immortal who happened to be caught within the Sword Qi did not even have time to react.
His Immortal Body, Essence Soul, Divine Energy, and even his Dao, all were completely obliterated, ceasing to exist.
The Sword Qi continued forward, and in its wake, dozens of Half Immortals were swept away and more than a hundred Immortal Ascension cultivators were reduced to dust.
The terrifying Sword Qi finally dissipated after tearing apart a huge portion of the Upper Realm army.
The remaining two Vagrant Immortals stared up in horror as Tian Yun lowered his finger and looked down at them.
The next moment, he stomped down.
*Boom!*
The earth trembled, collapsing into fissures as the bodies and souls of the two remaining Vagrant Immortals exploded beneath his feet.
Wisps of their remnant souls attempted to escape, yet an immense Sword Intent had already filled the surrounding heaven and earth.
*Pfft!*
The remnant souls scattered as well.
Three Vagrant Immortals had fallen within moments, leaving the surrounding Upper Realm cultivators completely stunned.
Tian Yun slowly raised his head, his gaze seeming to cross the battlefield as it landed upon the three Earth Immortals standing high above.
The three Earth Immortals had remained motionless throughout the battle, but just now, one of them, the middle aged man in golden armor, had just glanced in Tian Yun’s direction.
His eyes contained a trace of surprise, but then he closed them again, as if what had happened was no longer worthy of his attention.
Tian Yun’s eyes narrowed, a strange coldness settling within them.
"Still not making a move?"
His voice was extremely soft.
The three Earth Immortals remained where they were, clearly having no intention of interfering for the time being.
Tian Yun’s expression gradually became colder.
At that moment, an incomparably terrifying aura erupted from his body.
The surrounding heaven and earth trembled violently.
Purple light filled the sky as a gigantic figure slowly appeared behind him.
It was his Dharma Avatar, a purple silhouette resembling Tian Yun himself.
Its body stretched across millions of miles, and its eyes were ancient and indifferent, like two gigantic stars hanging in the sky.
An illusory sword was held within its hand.
The moment the sword appeared, the entire Heavenly Region seemed to have fallen silent, the heavenly rules stagnating.
Tian Yun raised his hand, and the gigantic purple Dharma Avatar moved simultaneously.
Its sword swept across the heavens as an enormous sword light descended.
*Boom!*
Wherever it passed, Upper Realm cultivators fell like rain in the hundreds and thousands.
It did not matter if they were Tribulation Transcendence cultivators, Immortal Ascension cultivators, or Half Immortals, all were swept away.
The purple sword light directly cleaved apart huge chunks of the Upper Realm army, leaving the Heavenly Region completely free of them.
Tian Yun stood beneath his gigantic Dharma Avatar.
His expression remained calm, yet his eyes were becoming increasingly cold.
...
In another battlefield.
*Clang!*
A sword light swept across the heavens, and an Upper Realm Immortal Ascension cultivator was cut in half.
Qing Yunzi withdrew his sword.
Beside him, a terrifying demonic aura erupted as Demon Lord Nine Calamities raised his hand.
*Boom!*
A Half Immortal was blasted backwards.
Qing Yunzi immediately followed.
*Pfft!*
The sword pierced through the Half Immortal’s chest, shredding apart his body and soul.
Demon Lord Nine Calamities laughed.
"Old fellow, you’re getting faster."
Qing Yunzi glanced at him.
"You’re getting slower."
"Ha!" Nine Calamities laughed loudly.
"Then let’s see who kills more!"
The two moved simultaneously, Sword Intent and Demonic Energy intertwining together.
Upper Realm cultivators fell one after another, and even Half Immortals were occasionally unable to escape.
Their cooperation was surprisingly smooth.
After all, these old monsters were once lifelong rivals, and this was not the first time they had fought together.
