Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1910 - 1909 - Failed Project

It took Lind only a week to master the language of the computers. He laughed from old memories of struggling in college courses to code and make sense of what looked like chaos given lines to fill.

Compared to those days, the language of the ancestors was and their code made everything he knew look like children's blocks. Their technology was able to use Qi! It was part of why it could last so long but he had not been able to bridge that gap at all!

Forging and weaving carried his will into his creations. Attempts to make something like a computer failed as the energies would rip it apart. While his ships worked they were just artifacts connected together.

A true machine like he was in front of was not possible by Forging or refining. The gap to use Eternal Qi in technology was lost as he could not find it in the records.

What he did find was failure. A lot of failure.

There had been more facilities and they were still being worked on when the Liar meddled with things he did not understand. He was the reason it got triggered early.

So early that it ruined everything. It almost made it moot!

If not for the handful that survived, the universe may have started over but it was a near certainty it would not make life again. He had been wrong about a few things.

Cultivation was a side effect, not the goal. They wanted to refine the energy and allow the First, of which there were more planned but never completed, to allow life to take it in.

The spirits did not create cultivation either. They simply altered life to be able to take in Qi. That single change led to the rest. People figured out the rest it seemed. That part amazed him.

The wondrous journey he had been on was always there, it just needed the door to be opened.

Reincarnation, on the other hand, had been the whole point. The refinement and integration of the energy into a more healthy balance required souls to be reborn as much as possible.

There was no mention of retaining a sense of self but he was willing to bet it came as an intermittent side effect.

"We were damn lucky. It all hung by a thread." The sobering realization made Lind appreciate being alive. The fact the Bastard almost snuffed it out even more made him shiver. More, the weak universe would have been shattered by him.

The Fiend would have likely tried to live like a God or some other deluded version of how he saw himself. Lind was glad to be alive but he saw he had a lot of obstacles.

The chief one being the very sphere he could feel as he sat in the palace. If he interfered rashly, death was certain for everyone he knew. The Harvest function would activate and go even farther to annihilate anything below Full Tier Eternal Realm.

The dim one was even more precarious and he had no idea if anything truly lived inside. He was too damn strong!

"I need to buy some time." He closed his eyes and his aura flared across the entire universe around him.

Every galaxy, blackhole, and all stellar phenomena froze in place. Not just that but the facility itself and the connections allowed him to reach every branch without moving.

It was as easy as breathing but it was the only safe thing he could do. Time was very dangerous to meddle with on a single target, but the entirety being frozen was nothing at all to him.

He had frozen it all for the moment. He had to both master his own power and safely figure out a way forward. He had no idea how long that would take but he first had to get very very far away.

He was about to leave when he noticed the corpse. Her name was Sophia. She was one of the administrators of the central hub and had been working on the preparations for the next of the First bodies.

He knelt down and picked her up. It was time for her to be put to rest. He flew out past the frozen blue androids. They were simple creations able to perform complex operations but unable to evolve.

He smirked as they had no idea about spirits being able to form. It told him they were as close to artifacts as their civilization came up with. He flew out and left the barrier.

He found a very old star. He looked down at her and gently brushed her dark hair behind her ear. Her face seemed like she was just asleep.

"You succeeded in the most important part. You gave us hope. I give you to a star you helped be born." He let her go and while time was stopped, his actions let her float forward. She fell into the dark yellow star.

He left her there as she would be consumed by the energies of the star. He flew off and shot straight up. He flew hard for years.

He did not underestimate how powerful he was. It was only after he flew for several millennia that he felt safe enough to train.

Lind sat down and focused on what he needed to do.

He had severely underestimated his power and how long it took to master it. A casual wave of his hand could shatter space entirely. A sneeze could snuff out a galaxy! It was impossible!

It took billions of years before he had the basic grasp of regulating his power. Still, he now had a firm grasp of what he was.

Before, his Harmonic Core became the vehicle via his mind to channel his dantian and other energies to make his Arts and other abilities work. Now, it was much simpler. He was his harmony.

He was power made manifest and it flowed in him like all of creation was at his fingertips.

[No one should be this powerful.] He transmitted outward. The danger of his existence was blatantly obvious to him. If there were more, any battle between them would wipe out all of reality!

Even Demi Tiers would have that issue but a Full Tier could shield from their damage. Still, he was not so arrogant as to believe he could stop more coming.

Faced with that, he had to prepare so he turned his attention to what the universe needed. Compared to mastering his power, he was about to face a far higher hurdle.

He summoned the jade slips he had imprinted and began to review everything the ancestors had known while comparing it to what he knew. Somewhere in between, he hoped to find the truth.

Lind was drifting in the deep dark. He was unchanged but he had lost count of the years. Time had become meaningless to the enormity of what he had to do.

Because the ancestors had not truly understood Qi, they had only grasped the benefits. They did not understand the intricacy of what could happen once people truly mastered it. Thus, their plan was doomed from the start.

It was sheer caution that saved everything from a common mindset getting through. Cultivators were by and large selfish creatures. They took what they wanted and killed any that got in their way.

It was pragmatic but dangerous when allowed to reach the ultimate power level. Even if some coalition came together, he was horrified at what someone would do with Full Tier Eternal Realm power.

The ancestors only had eternal life and health. They had not grasped the full depth of their source of power. Lind almost found it hilarious if not for the current issues before him.

He had to integrate the 2 surviving spheres into the universe without triggering the Harvests. He had to upgrade the universe to be able to withstand cultivators. He had to somehow contain Eternal Realm cultivators so they would not kill everything with a casual thought!

The first 2 he was close to a feasible solution. He would need to simply slowly increase the level of the universe. It would take a very long time but he could do it. The harder part was the spheres.

He would have to be very delicate and very careful to merge the vast Sea of Realms into the larger universe. He had some theories on how to do it but he had to overcome the physical limits.

The existing Sea of Realms would eventually burn out and he either needed a way for them to renew themselves or an entirely new method of allowing the energies to fuel new worlds.

The last problem he kept coming back to the only solution he had no idea how to pull off.

Cultivators were wild beings and while fellow members at the same realm could make them moderate their movements to an extent, there had only been one true way to keep cultivators in line.

He needed to find the original Heaven and Earth!
