Chapter 3920: Wounding the Fire Sage

  • Next Chapter

The moment Alex used his Sword Heart, a Sword Domain formed around the Fire Sage, immediately attacking her from all directions at once.

The Fire Sage reacted instantly, moving away as if to leave the location of the attack, but the Sword Domain followed her, continuously keeping her inside it.

The Fire Sage tried leaving the Domain behind a few more times before the reality set in for her that it was going to be impossible.

’Sword Heart? Him? How is that possible?’ the woman thought, quickly thinking of a way to undo this.

She pulled on her bow and shot at him, if nothing else than to distract him momentarily, but Alex dodged it without much concern while his focus remained on the Domain around her.

Considering how well it had maintained itself, she could tell that he had learned it a while ago and had fully trained in it.

It was not going to be possible to make him lose focus, so she had to come up with some other ideas soon.

The audience reacted similarly.

Many people all around gasped in surprise when they saw what Alex had done. Enough of them understood what Sword Heart was to realize that the person using it had to be an incredible swordsman.

Compared to him, the woman he fought did little to amaze the audience. Her attacks were strong, but there was no skill to them. It was almost as if she was attempting to overpower him completely, and many were happy that it wasn’t working at all.

Inside the hall, the man in the golden robe gasped in amazement.

"Ironbrawn, what am I watching?" he asked, turning toward Graham. "Your son has Sword Heart?"

"Hmm, yes," Graham answered. "I believe that is what it is called. Again, I’m not much of a swordsman myself to fully understand the importance, but that makes sense."

"How is that possible? Not only is he stronger than he should be with that cultivation base, he’s also learned Sword Heart at such a young age?" the man said, his voice full of praise. "How did he manage to learn all of this at such a young age?"

"Well..." Graham smiled faintly. "I’ll let him answer what he wants to on his own, if that’s fine with you."

"Of course," the man said, growing curious.

What was there that would require him to be so secretive?

Back on the stage, Alex kept the Sword Domain around the Fire Sage, slowly wounding her.

Despite his Domain completely surrounding her and the fact that she had no answer to it, Alex should have won easily. However, the woman’s cultivation base was just so high that she could not be wounded so easily.

Even though one wasn’t allowed to use their Qi at all, it wasn’t possible to stop it from affecting things inside one’s body. And even without any technique, the Fire Sage’s Divine Domain level Qi was passively empowering her so that all Alex ended up leaving behind were scratches.

Truthfully, he simply had no way to harm her physically.

However, physical damage was not all Alex could deal at the moment.

Blazelight was currently using the red and gold bow to fight him, a bow that was her own Creation.

And as Creations were a manifestation of one’s soul, each attack from his Sword Domain on the bow was also an attack on the Fire Sage’s soul.

The amount of damage a single strand of Sword Qi inside his Domain dealt was minuscule, but when combined together, the damage became significant enough that the Fire Sage had to be worried.

The moment Alex noticed that as well, he concentrated his Sword Heart, tightening the sphere until the Domain was only around the bow.

The Fire Sage noticed what Alex was planning immediately and attempted to fight back against it, but there was nothing she could do.

Even when she tried to move the bow around, Alex’s Domain quickly caught up, damaging it more.

The only thing she could do was let go of it.

The bow vanished into her Divine Sea, momentarily gone from the fight.

The moment that happened, Alex moved.

He had anticipated the possibility long ago, so he was ready for it as well.

He arrived before the Fire Sage in an instant, his Sword Heart moving the Sword Domain around his sword, forming Sword Heart Breaker.

A long, glowing white sword erupted out of the yellow Nightslayer as Alex swung it directly at the Fire Sage.

The woman managed to dodge his attack, but barely.

She moved away, looking down at the strands of her red hair that fell onto the stage.

Alex remained where he was, returning to a casual stance with his sword on his shoulder.

"What’s wrong?" he asked with a slight cackle, returning her earlier words to her. "Can’t fight back? You made some big claims, senior. Why don’t you prove them?"

The woman held an expression of pure rage as she brought out her bow again.

The moment it appeared, she pulled on it, releasing a single attack.

Alex simply moved his head a little, letting the attack fly past him without touching him.

At the same time, a Sword Domain formed around the woman’s bow, attacking it once again.

The woman grimaced, putting the bow away again.

"Are you going to fight back or what?" Alex asked.

The taunt immediately made the woman dash forward toward him.

Alex watched her coming, already expecting what was going to happen next.

The moment she arrived next to him, the bow appeared in her hand, already drawn with an arrow inside it.

And all she did was let go.

Alex tried to move in time, but the attack had been so quick and at such a short range that he simply had no way to dodge.

The attack landed, but on his shoulder.

The arrow pierced through.

Alex grinned.

"Unless you have a way to get rid of my arms, you’re not winning."

Sword Heart Breaker formed once again, and he swung his sword.

This time, it hit the Fire Sage’s bow directly.
