Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy

Chapter 3902: Reason for Punishment

  • Next Chapter

The aftermath of Alex’s attack left everyone stunned.

From Swiftslash to Sunflare to Bladedance, and even Alex, everyone watched with their mouths agape. Not a single person there had expected his attack to have that sort of effect.

The Yang aura still lingered in the air, which made it all the more surreal.

"It wasn’t just me who saw that, right?" Swiftslash asked, looking around. "That definitely happened."

"It happened," Bladedance said, still quite astonished. She turned toward Alex. "Your sword is quite strong, it seems."

"Yeah," Alex said. "I... I didn’t expect that."

"What’s it called?" Swiftslash asked.

"Nightslayer."

"No, not the sword. The attack. What is it called?" Swiftslash asked.

Alex paused. "Actually, there is no name," he said.

While it used the same Qi lines as when the sword was Godslayer, the attack could no longer be given the same name as before.

God Rending Death Blade.

Godslayer was a sword that sought to slay Gods, containing the aura of Death and Darkness.

Nightslayer was completely different from that, so the name had to be different as well.

"This is the first time I’m using the technique," Alex explained. "I had some idea of what the attack would do, but I never expected it to do what it did. So I didn’t name it. I will take some time to come up with a name now."

"You should," Swiftslash said. "It would be a crime to let an attack of that quality go without having a name."

The Sword Sage’s words made Alex quite proud. The sword he had made was getting this much praise.

"Keep training," Bladedance said. "You don’t have time to waste, remember?"

Alex nodded and looked toward Swiftslash. "Let us continue, senior brother."

The training lasted for a few hours, during which time Alex not only got a better feel for Nightslayer, but also trained his Sword Intent. Swiftslash helped him hone his Intent and use it to push himself further while giving him advice on how to form his first Dao Sword.

Alex felt that he would soon need to go learn it.

Once they were done training, Alex thanked Swiftslash.

"You have my deepest thanks for helping me with my training, senior brother," Alex said and bowed a little.

Swiftslash smiled. "Anything for Her Majesty’s disciple. Come back again if you want to."

Alex nodded and walked away with Bladedance and Sunflare, while Swiftslash sat back down on the training ground and closed his eyes, returning to the cultivation state he had been in before Alex arrived.

As they walked outside, Alex turned toward his master.

"I wasn’t aware you had taught someone else as well, Master."

"I didn’t. I just gave him a few pointers and passed along two of my skills when he learned Sword Heart. One of those wasn’t even mine to begin with," Bladedance said with a sigh. "Even that I taught him because he was part of my cult. I had no intention of taking any disciple, but he thinks he is one, at least in an unofficial capacity."

Alex slowly nodded. "So why is he in the training ground? Based on your conversation, I am guessing he is being punished for something. Has he done something wrong?"

"Sort of," Bladedance said. "He and the rest of the members of my cult failed to realize that my absence was due to nefarious reasons. Not a single one of them dug into it at all."

Alex scratched his head in thought. "Maybe they were lied to by Purplerain. Or maybe once he became a God, he made it difficult to search for you."

"Then that is another crime they need to be punished for," Bladedance said. "They let themselves be governed by Purplerain."

Alex held a strange smile as he listened to her. There was no crime in what she had said, except maybe the crime of being ignorant. Swiftslash and all the others could not be faulted for not realizing that something more had happened to her. If other Gods hadn’t realized it, how could they?

"Did he come to apologize, then?" Alex asked.

"No, he came to take part in the meeting among Gods if he would be allowed to. If not, he came at least in part to deliver the message that the Sword God would not be arriving," Bladedance said.

"So he wasn’t aware you were here?" Alex asked.

"No. He was surprised to find me here." 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

"Then I don’t think he should be punished."

Bladedance turned toward him. "He’s inside my courtyard, doing nothing but sitting around and cultivating. Is that a harsh punishment in your eyes?"

Alex blinked. "Not really, I suppose."

"Of course it isn’t. I’m not so egotistical as to make them bear the brunt of my anger when the person I’m angry at is currently gone," Bladedance said. "Still, I can’t help but want them to suffer. So this is my way of doing that."

Alex nodded slowly. "I understand. Speaking of which, is it true what they said? About you becoming the Sword God again?"

"Yes," Bladedance said. "Well, anything could happen between now and the meeting, but Newheaven will bring up a proposal to reinstate me as the Sword God. It’s not protocol to just assign someone the role without having them fight someone for it, but I think they understand my talent, so they can all make an exception this time around."

Alex nodded. "That would be great if that happened."

Bladedance thought so as well. "Don’t start cultivating right away. Take your time training for a while. You need this."

"I was planning on doing just that," Alex said. "I was going to delay cultivating until after the Artifact God was done with my artifact anyway, so I will train during that time."

"That’s good," Bladedance said. "Train as well as you can with Swiftslash. In time, you will hopefully be able to formulate your first Dao Sword. You already have some idea of what you want it to be, right?"

Alex nodded. "I do."
