Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy
Chapter 3834: Divinations
With Quietspring starting her Divination, the room fell silent as everyone allowed her to do what she needed. Her eyes remained shut for some time before suddenly opening again. Instead of looking at anything in particular, however, her eyes rolled back into their sockets, with only the whites visible for everyone to see.
Alex watched the woman with bated breath, unsure what exactly was going to happen at this moment. He wasn’t particularly worried, but there was a chance she would see things that he couldn’t even begin to imagine, and the thought of that made him unable to completely relax.
A short moment later, her eyes returned to normal, staring at Alex with a strange expression.
"What did you see?" Bladedance asked from beside Alex.
"I..." The woman found it hard to speak her mind. "I’m not done yet."
She closed her eyes again and continued her Divination.
It was only a short while before her eyes rolled back once more, and a short while after that, she opened them again, the same confused look flashing across her face.
"Are you done now?" Bladedance asked.
Quietspring hesitated for a moment before gritting her teeth. "Not yet. Allow me some more time."
Once again, she closed her eyes and began the Divination all over again.
After the third attempt, the Sky God looked toward her. "Any chance you are done now? If not, could you Divine how many times you will have to do this before you actually succeed?"
Quietspring had nothing more to say at that point.
"I can’t do it," she said. "I can barely see anything of his future. It is as though... he doesn’t have any fate assigned to him."
Those words caused the various gods around the room to turn toward Alex with strange looks in their eyes.
Alex had expected the outcome, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t relieved to hear that Quietspring had failed to see anything about him. More than that, he was happy that she hadn’t made something up just to regain her group’s reputation.
"You must have seen something, right?" the Defense God asked. "It shouldn’t be possible to simply see nothing."
"I saw things," Quietspring said slowly. "But only of the immediate future. The possibilities are infinite, and for some reason, it is difficult to narrow down the possible ones when it comes to him. The future fractures so quickly around him that, at most, I can see a few days ahead."
"And what did you see?" the Saber God asked.
Quietspring didn’t answer. She looked toward the Divination God, waiting for him to say something.
The Divination God nodded.
"It is your turn now," he told Liz, gesturing her forward. "Make a Divination, just as I have taught you."
Liz nodded meekly, somewhat shy to be standing before this many gods. She walked forward a step, immediately garnering the attention of everyone there.
She looked at Alex, who looked back at her and gave a subtle nod.
Liz let go of a breath she had been holding and slowly closed her eyes.
She found it hard to focus knowing there were so many people looking at her, so she chose to deal with that first.
Time aura emanated from her as she slowed down time for herself. Suddenly, it was as though she alone remained in the room while everyone else appeared practically frozen.
That helped her concentrate considerably more.
Alex raised an eyebrow when he sensed the aura coming from her.
Quietspring caught it as well. Her eyes immediately narrowed, trying to determine how it was possible for a mere Immortal to produce such powerful Time aura. Her eyes moved toward the Divination God, wondering if he had given Liz some sort of artifact, but she found it far more likely that the young woman before her was simply naturally gifted.
Perhaps that was what had drawn the Divination God’s attention in the first place.
Slowly, another aura emerged from Liz.
Space aura.
Only a few managed to sense it, as it was considerably weaker than the Time aura.
The weakness mostly stemmed from the fact that Liz hadn’t learned a Space Dao yet. Had she done so, it would have likely been much stronger. Still, even without one, the aura was somewhat usable.
Liz was far too focused on her own actions to care about what the others were doing.
There was no actual technique to Divination. All she had to do was use her senses to peer into the patterns formed through space and time.
As she did, the threads within those patterns unraveled before twisting around once again, coming to her in forms she could not see, but could somehow understand.
That understanding became words.
And those words began leaving her mouth.
"Born of Hell, he comes to seek an end to the Divine Battle," Liz said. "The one who escaped it shall make him submit."
Alex blinked in immediate surprise.
A prophecy?
He hadn’t expected Liz to suddenly break out into a prophecy.
The others around him appeared to have the same reaction to Liz’s words. Given the cryptic nature of the message, however, none of them were certain what exactly she was talking about.
Before they could discuss it among themselves, Liz continued.
"Melt shall he the black stone, and mix with it will he his broken soul. To it shall he give a meaning for a name and a name for a meaning."
Alex narrowed his eyes.
This was still his Divination, right?
"And his enemy shall come, surrounded by blood and poison, and seek to take what is his."
The people around the room watched with much more curiosity at this point. They had already realized that Liz was making prophecies, but the meaning behind them was not something they could immediately understand.
"The sun shines. The sky breaks. The mind reveals a thought hidden. Branches droop. Heads lower. Lovely poison. Redo. Hidden. Light and Darkness. The Devil Without. The God Within. Truth Unfolding. Trees. Houses. Stone. Beads. Dead—"
"Stop!"
The Divination God’s voice brought Liz out of her Divination. She had now done more than she had to.
