Chapter 3828: Revisiting Lightmaker

After some thought, Sunflare decided that he would go last. Alex was surprised that the man who had been so hasty to see his god all this time had chosen to let his subordinates go on ahead.

But as Alex thought about it, he realized that the man wanted to go last so that there would be nothing forcing him to come out quickly. He would get to stay in there for as long as he wanted.

Noonstar was to go first. The shorter man walked ahead and bowed toward Bladedance.

"I’ll go in first," Bladedance said and disappeared into Alex’s Soul Space.

Alex took the opportunity to make sure everything inside of his Soul Space was ready to accept these three men. That meant a tall flame barrier that blocked the view of every single thing in his Soul Space, except for the tree on the mountaintop.

On the outside, Alex explained to the Divinity exactly what it was that he wanted from him. "Please do not use your Divine sense or Intent. Anything you do will hurt me inside there."

The man nodded fervently, his excitement showing even though he tried his best to hold it down.

After the man was ready, Alex sent him in.

The man appeared in a world of fog. He looked around, but he wasn’t confused. His fellow monk had already told him what to expect in here. He looked beneath him at the soil underneath his feet. It was still unclear how a Soul Space could have soil, but that was not something for him to be concerned about.

Bladedance walked in through the fog. "You’re first, huh? Here, take this." She handed over a metal medallion.

Noonstar looked at Bladedance with slight confusion. He couldn’t figure out what Bladedance’s purpose in here was. If he was to go against his word and act here, what was she going to do? Try and stop him?

A Celestial acting inside here would be far worse than whatever he could do as a Divinity. She was more of a danger than he could ever be, so her purpose made no sense to him at all.

However, he also didn’t believe that there was no purpose at all. He just believed that he simply couldn’t see it.

Though, since he had no intention of acting in any untoward manner inside of the young man’s Soul Space, there was nothing for him to worry about in the first place. He took hold of the medallion, and all of a sudden, the world cleared.

The bald man sucked in a deep breath as the world of fire appeared around him. He had heard about it from his friend: a barrier of yellow flame that rose toward the dark sky. As his eyes followed the barrier, a bright light appeared in his periphery.

Slowly, he turned around, and there it was. The thing he had come there for.

The Nine Yang Divine Tree.

The man immediately fell to his knees, wide eyes staring at the god that appeared before him. It had been so long since he had seen it. He had been but an Immortal the last time he had seen this deity.

"Oh, Lightmaker!" he spoke in reverence. "Blessed be you who create and destroy. Blessed be I who has witnessed your burning countenance. May your light purge away all of my sins."

Bladedance watched from the side, very much curious as to just how religious these people were. She could never imagine throwing herself to the floor for just a tree. She could sense the tree from where she was even without her Divine sense.

Her Axiom told her that the tree was indeed a living thing. But it was so pathetically weak that even if she didn’t know this wasn’t a god, she would still have never considered it one.

The World Tree was far better than this tree. It was dozens of times more alive, its Intent just that much stronger.

She looked down at the bowing man and sighed quietly. After a while, the man finally looked up, staring directly at the blinding tree for a long time. And even though he hadn’t had his fill of the tree yet, it was time for him to leave.

Alex pulled Noonstar out once he was ready and sent in Daywind.

The taller monk had come here before as well, so he wasn’t as surprised by everything else. Though, he still looked at everything with a curious gaze. After a few seconds had passed, he finally turned toward the tree.

"Blessed be the Lightmaker, the Creator and the Destroyer. I, your humble servant, throw myself at your feet. Long may you live. Long may you help us live. May your light purge us all of our sins."

Alex was slightly surprised at the man’s prayer. It was the exact same as the one he had said last time. He realized at that moment that the man hadn’t been praying freely, but had rather been repeating something he had likely heard others say before and made his own.

After a while, he too left.

Alex looked toward Sunflare after Daywind came out. "It’s just you, senior. Please keep my words in mind and hold in your Divine sense."

Sunflare nodded. "Do not worry. I don’t have the intention of putting in jeopardy the life of the one who holds our god in his palm. I will be careful."

After listening carefully, Alex nodded and sent the Celestial into his Soul Space.

Sunflare appeared just like the others did and was immediately met with the same surprise they were. The world of fog was an interesting sight, and though he wanted to look further into it, he didn’t.

Bladedance stood right beside him already and held out the medallion. "You will need this to see through the fog."

Sunflare looked down at the medallion and nodded slowly.

"Thank you," he said before taking it.

The moment he took the medallion, the fog around him faded away, revealing the world that lay around him.
