Chapter 3540 Newheaven
Chapter 3540 Newheaven
"Go on in," Helen said as she gestured to the newly arrived group to walk through the doors. "Ronron will bring you around to our
courtyards later."
Alex looked through their group, which consisted of 6 people in total, all of whom should hold a different level of importance in the Sky
God's eyes.
"Are all of us entering?" he asked. It was rather surprising that the Sky God would be willing to talk to every single one of them, rather than just a small group.
"She didn't specify anyone, so yes," Ronron said before gesturing for them to enter.
Bladedance wasted no more time and walked through the massive doors into the building. Alex followed behind, walking side by side with Ronron as he too entered. The rest followed behind him.
The door closed on its own, shutting in the massive room with thick carpets of fractal patterns covering the floor. There were no windows, but the walls were covered in tapestries that appeared so realistic that Alex nearly believed he stood surrounded by a field of flowers and grasses.
Soft waves of wind aura made him almost believe there was a soft breeze blowing through the room despite the clear lack of circulation.
There were dozens of pieces of furniture laid about the room, giving personality to the place. The room itself was, however, devoid of any person. As they wondered where anyone was, a person appeared without any fanfare.
Alex had been looking around, his senses idly searching, and even so, he didn't detect any fluctuation in the spatial aura at all. It was as though he was watching an Azure Dragon teleport into the room, but even they weren't as adept at manipulating space as this person was.
As she appeared, the first thing Alex saw was the green of her hair, a shade that was perfectly the same as Ronron's. She was slightly taller than Ronron, carrying a much more mature look.
Her face still carried a youthfulness to it, although her demeanor made her look older.
She glanced through the group, her silver and emerald
heterochromatic eyes looking into each and every one of their eyes. Her look lingered on Alex for a split second more than the others, the faintest hint of a change appearing in her expression.
She spoke with a serene voice. "Welcome to my palace."
Alex already understood who she was, but that sentence was the hammer that nailed her identity.
This was Newheaven, leader of the Council of Gods.
The Sky God.
Alex immediately bowed in respect to the woman who stood before him.
"We are honored to be in your presence, Sky God."
The others were much later in bowing compared to Alex, only belatedly greeting the Sky God before them.
The Sword God gave a small nod in greeting as well. "It is good to see you again, Newheaven."
The Sky God let out the faintest hint of a smile. "The feeling is mutual, Bladedance. Please, take a seat."
Bladedance walked up to the seats in the center of the room and sat down upon one of them. Alex walked over as well, taking one of the seats to her left.
Pearl and Scarlet sat next to him on his left on another couch. Battlesage sat to Bladedance's right on another couch, where Hao Ya quietly sat down as well.
Ronron walked over and stood behind the Sky God with her hands clasped before her. It was funny that the two appeared so much like a mother and daughter, despite having absolutely no connections via their lineage.
Alex felt a weird sense of attention on him from the Sky God despite her eyes never looking at him once since he sat down, nor any strong Divine senses around him. It was as though she was looking at him without actually looking at him.
It was a strange feeling.
The others seemed much more nervous in comparison to him. Neither of the four non-Celestial, non-Half-gods could even look in her direction for more than a few seconds at best. They immediately looked away.
Alex recognized that it may have something to do with the feeling of reverence that came with being in the presence of a Half-god. He himself could not feel it at all. It was unlikely that was due to his status as a Half-God, but rather because of his evolved constitution. He had been unable to sense the changes in Shumi as well when she became the Moon Goddess, after all.
"You've done some renovations," Bladedance said after a long period of silence which she could not endure.
The Sky God showed a joyous expression. "I had to change it a little. Bring some freshness to the room."
Bladedance nodded. "It looks good."
"You look quite good as well," the Sky God said. "Much better than I would've expected you to be, given your situation."
"I'm still recovering," Bladedance said. "It will take a while before I am back to the same level as I was in the past. But given what I've been through, I suppose I should be happy I have managed to get back as much as I have."
The Sky God nodded. "I had searched for you for quite a while, but I
could find no signs of where you had gone. Ever since you left the Split Sky realm, you had shown no sign of entering any other worlds, so I thought you were either dead or lost in space. Never would I have imagined that you were in Hell. It must have been a lucky break for you when this young man was sent there as well."
Bladedance could only agree.
"If not for him, I would either be dead in Hell, or everyone in Hell would be dead instead," she said, turning to Alex as she patted him on his back. "So I am thankful to have met him."
"And thankful you should be," the Sky God said, turning to look at
Alex. "I could have never imagined there would be someone out there capable of successfully navigating the Void."
