Chapter 3493: Moment of Opportunity
Chapter 3493: Moment of Opportunity
Alex hurtled through the air after being bashed with the crystal shield, thrown away with blood spraying out from his body. The bones in his arms and chest were shattered, although thankfully he held onto his sword.
At the same time, the sudden pain nearly made him lose his grasp on the madness. He quickly suppressed it, stopping it from taking over.
He corrected himself midair and looked back at the man, only to realize that he was coming right for him once again.
Alex teleported to get out of the way, but the man’s wings granted him a speed far beyond what Alex was used to fighting while teleporting. His Divine Sense also allowed him to notice Alex far faster than a regular Immortal would, making his course correction instantaneous.
Alex teleported multiple times, getting away from the man in each instance until he felt he was far enough away. Then, he placed his sword to the side, getting into a stance that meant he was ready to attack the man.
A powerful aura erupted from him at the same time, making it apparent just what he was planning.
The man saw this through his Divine Sense and worried about nothing. The crystal shield he had formed before him would be strong enough to block any damage Alex could deal. Even if it somehow broke through, he still had his armor anyway.
So, he pushed his speed even further, flying like a loose arrow as he targeted Alex.
This time, he would hurt him even more.
Alex waited to strike the man, but he simply couldn’t keep up with his speed. The man arrived upon Alex before he could even swing his sword.
BAM!
Or so the man expected.
But there was no feedback from him striking Alex. There was no matter that he hit. He simply passed through Alex as though he weren’t real.
BAM!
This time, there was a real strike, except it was Alex who had hit the man.
Alex had left his doppelganger to lure the man while he waited with slowed time to find the right chance to attack. When he did, he struck the man on his back with as much force as he could possibly muster.
The man’s trajectory changed, his crystal shield flying away from his grasp, while his armor glowed with a very dull light. His wings spasmed a little as well, although Alex couldn’t tell whether that meant he was hurt or not.
No matter the result, Alex continued his assault. Since he was already hidden once again, he teleported around the man, striking him one after another.
Sword Domain moved around him, lacerating the man, his armor, and his Creation each time he teleported near him.
It took the man a moment to start noticing Alex again through the absence in his surroundings. With Alex revealing himself for a period, he had been lured into a sense of security upon seeing him, but that was wrong of him.
He fought back with his whip, attacking Alex near where he teleported to, the lightning snake trying to bite at him.
Alex clashed with the whip multiple times, stopping it from reaching him. At the same time, he saw how close to breaking the man’s armor was.
While his own spiritual energy was getting lower by the second, if he could find this opening, he could win.
Then, a few clashes later, it appeared.
The moment Alex saw the opening in the man’s actions, he slowed down time and teleported right before him. With as much power as he could physically muster, he struck at the armor.
Alex hit the armor with so much force that, after having lost so much of its physical durability throughout the battle, the armor shattered.
And as it shattered, Alex saw something he could have never expected to see on the man in that moment.
A smile.
Alex’s eyes widened.
’A trap?’
The realization came a moment too late. A powerful force grabbed onto him, locking him in place. There was no pain or discomfort, just an inability to move. The light from the world began breaking away like shards of glass, and Alex realized what had happened.
He was stuck in frozen space.
’He had another talisman?’
Having not seen the attack coming this time around, Alex wasn’t able to use the Spirit Reversal technique to stop the aura from affecting him. Now that the space had solidified around him, there was no point in using the technique.
Since this was considered a separate space, he couldn’t teleport out of it either. The only way to move out of this place was to destroy the stationary space all by himself.
Alex had done just that with Hao Ya earlier, so it wasn’t as though it was a difficult task. But that was when he wasn’t in the middle of a fight.
Right now, he could see the man performing his next move.
Even as the blue armor around his body broke apart, the pieces falling off his body, he produced a stack of talismans and threw them all in Alex’s direction.
Instantly, the talismans glowed and vanished, replaced by an array of spears before him that struck out. There were nearly a hundred spears there, each one strong enough to break apart space itself.
Defeating someone frozen in space was a non-issue in this scenario. The first few spears struck the frozen space, their power boring through it until it broke apart, the space mixing back with the real space.
The rest followed behind so quickly that Alex simply couldn’t react in time at all.
One after another, the dozens of spears poured through his body, riddling him with massive holes. Before long, Alex died from the attack.
“Shit…!” the Sky God soldier whispered to himself, bringing out a pill to consume. He stared at the pile of meat that dropped through the sky after the attack.
“So much for leaving an intact corpse.”
