Chapter 3487: Stationary
Chapter 3487: Stationary
Hao Ya immediately pulled down her veil to cover her face, but it was far too late. The man had already seen her.
Alex stared at the man, a handsome face for sure, but there was something else about him that drew more attention than anything else.
His armor.
Of sky-blue color and formed with intricate designs, the armor belonged to those that were part of the Sky God’s army. This man was a soldier of the Sky God. With how Hao Ya reacted just then, it was clear that he was also the person who had likely tortured her.
What happened next happened so quickly that Alex barely had any time to react.
The man moved with the impossible speed of a Divinity, his aura already reaching for Hao Ya. If not for his Demon Eyes, Alex could not have even seen him move.
Alex acted just then, using his Time Dao to slow the events all around him. The man moved at a regular speed now, allowing him to make his move. He grabbed onto Hao Ya, pulling her behind him. At the same time, Midnight appeared in his hand, the black sword swinging at the man with the power of Sword Aura already flowing through it.
The Sword Aura slammed into the soldier’s aura, creating an unexpected explosion that threw Alex backward. Pain shot through Alex as the strength of the explosion was far beyond what he had expected.
This was a true Divinity with strength in the later Divine Creation realm.
Alex stopped himself mid-air before properly landing on the ground. Hao Ya, however, skidded across the ground, only stopping when she hit a few people in the street.
Alex quickly ran to her, helping her up.
“We-we need to go,” she said in a panicked tone. “He’s one of them who forced me to reveal everything I knew. He knows all about you as well.”
“Everything?” Alex asked, turning back to look at the man.
The man didn’t do anything for a few seconds, simply watching the situation from where he was. He was a little surprised by the fact that Alex had managed to block him, despite the clear lack of a strong cultivation base.
At the same time, he looked around, realizing that he had drawn a bit of attention from the crowd around him.
He stood up straight, a nearly perfect smile appearing on his face. “Everyone, please stay back. This is the Sky God’s business now. I am here to handle these two villains and take them with me.”
The crowd seemingly accepted his words, not that they had a choice given that he truly was a Sky God’s soldier. Even if it was a lie, they could only turn a blind eye, lest they bring on the wrath of the Sky God’s people.
They did nothing but watch, waiting to see what would happen next.
“We really do need to go,” Alex whispered, grabbing Hao Ya as he prepared to teleport away. By that point, the soldier had already brought out a talisman and thrown it toward them.
Alex turned around in time, letting out a sword slash to hit the talisman for whatever it was about to do. To his surprise, however, the talisman suddenly shone with golden light and slipped past the attack, flowing toward them.
Hao Ya turned ethereal as she prepared to dodge the incoming attack.
Alex used a defensive technique in preparation alongside the Spirit Reversal technique. The light hit both him and Hao Ya, but his technique protected him from any effect that could have come from it, at the expense of a chunk of his Qi.
Hao Ya, however, wasn’t so lucky. She didn’t react, so Alex had no idea as to what could have happened to her. Not that he had the time to wait and find out. He could figure out the issue once they were away. He grabbed onto her and used his Teleportation Dao to—
“Huh?”
Something was wrong. The Teleportation Dao wasn’t working around Hao Ya. He couldn’t manipulate the space around her. As if…
’She’s frozen in space!’
Hao Ya hadn’t realized anything that had happened to her. She simply stood where she was, trapped within the space that slowly began to break around her.
Alex’s eyes widened as shards of broken space tore off around her, vanishing only when they moved past her. The frozen space around her was a stone in a river, breaking the flow. Space moved constantly, and it broke around the frozen space.
A strange event happened next. Hao Ya slowly began sliding to the right. She wasn’t moving or anything. She slid as if she stood on thin ice, even phasing through the ground a little.
While the rest of space moved around her, she alone was frozen in one location, almost as if outside of regular space itself.
Alex finally recognized the situation for what it was.
Stationary Space.
The man had somehow applied the aura of Stationary Space around Hao Ya through the talisman, freezing her where she was.
Whether she was ethereal or not didn’t matter anymore since the space she was in itself couldn’t move around at all. She would be trapped there forever, until someone broke through that aura and took her out. For someone who could slip past anything physical, that was a perfect counter.
Alex realized that the man must be intimately aware of Hao Ya’s physique and her ability to slip through physical matter. That was why she was captured this way.
Alex looked back at the man with his smug look and then turned back toward Hao Ya. Understanding what he must do here, he immediately brought out two pills and ate them.
One of the pills helped condense the spiritual energy inside his Spiritual Sea, while the other helped improve the replenishment rate of his spiritual energy. With how much it had improved, Alex’s spiritual energy was stronger than a regular Divine Sense in brute strength.
As soon as he gained the newfound strength, he turned toward Hao Ya, ready to save her.
