Chapter 3383 Meeting the Black Tortoises again
Chapter 3383 Meeting the Black Tortoises again
“It’s good to see that you’re doing well,” the Black Tortoise Matriarch said. Both of the sisters sat before Alex, Pearl, and Bai Jingshen in the palace hall underneath the massive sea where the Black Tortoise Palace lay.
“Thank you, Matriarchs,” Alex said. “And I’m glad you didn’t enter closed cultivation just yet, or I might have missed you.”
“I was planning to, but I decided not to for a while. I will enter soon and only come back out before the great festival and tournament,” she said.
“Tournament?” Alex asked with a slightly raised eyebrow.
“Yes. We have a tournament that we hold between the four families and some other families from around the world. It takes place every few millennia,” she explained. “The next one is scheduled for a few centuries from now.”
“Ah! I see,” Alex said. “I will have to miss that then.”
“It’s not something you need to be part of anyway,” she explained. “It’s more of an event for the four families to get together and enjoy each other’s presence. A way for us to connect, since we mostly keep to ourselves if possible.”
Alex supposed there was no harm in missing such a tournament then. There was no way he was going to return here in a few centuries, was there?
If he had the chance to go anywhere, then he would most likely go to the Godkiller’s Tomb, but he likely wasn’t going to have the time for that either.
“It has been a decade since you received the method to improve everyone’s bloodline, Matriarch. I assume you have been using it pretty often,” Alex said.
“Often enough,” the snake said. “We are taking our time with helping the non-Black Tortoises evolve. So far, we have added an additional 150 Black Tortoises to our family, and each one of them has a bloodline equivalent to the 4th generation or higher. It is incredible.”
“150, huh? That’s a lot. Any failures?”
“A few, but those were mostly either our fault or the fault of the junior. I don’t think there is anything to blame on your technique yet. And I don’t think there ever will be.”
Alex smiled. “I’m happy to hear that the family is flourishing. I’ve been passing along the method to the other families too, and soon they will be improving at a similar rate.”
The matriarch couldn’t help but shake her head slightly. “We could have never expected that your presence in this world would have been such a boon for us. Even before you became a god, you did so much for us. I can only imagine what you will do now that you’ve become one.”
Alex let out a small smile. “I’m still too weak to do anything. It will take some time for me to recover my strength. We’ll see what I become capable of doing once I become just as strong as the Sun God of the past.”
The matriarchs couldn’t help but nod.
Alex continued conversing for some time before deciding to leave. Before leaving the palace, however, he met up with Xuan Luhei to see how he was progressing.
“Look at you. Good as new,” Bai Jingshen said as he met both the tortoise and the snake halves of the Black Tortoise.
Xuan Luhei froze for a moment upon seeing Bai Jingshen. “When the hell did you reach the Divine Realm?” he asked.
Bai Jingshen couldn’t help but let out a hearty laugh. “I was always a Divinity. You were just too weak to realize.”
Xuan Luhei couldn’t believe it. “You were always one? Even back when we fought Godkiller?”
“Ah, no. I had just about reached the Immortal Spirit Realm back then,” Bai Jingshen said. “I became a Divinity during the few years I came here in between to take my family back down with me.”
“Is that so?”
The two brothers were quite stunned.
“Your bloodline feels stronger than before. Am I wrong?” Alex asked as he sensed their cultivation base.
“Somewhat,” Xuan Luhei answered. “I broke through to Immortal Ascendant 6th realm a few months back, and have been given a chance to absorb the bloodline again, probably because of my association with you. Well, I didn’t ask why and simply made use of the opportunity.”
Alex found it hard to keep his face straight when he heard Xuan Luhei’s cultivation base again. It was hard to believe that the ‘senior’ from back home was now so much weaker than he was. He wanted to give the beast some of the fruits from the Tree of Life, but he couldn’t do that. He didn’t have enough for his own family, so he couldn’t just go around giving it to anyone he wanted to.
But that didn’t mean he didn’t have anything to give.
Alex brought out a few pill bottles and handed them over, alongside a jar full of elixir.
“These will help you with your cultivation,” he said. “And this will help you with improving your body cultivation significantly. Between the two of you, it should push you to the Immortal Transcendent Realm
at the least.”
The two beasts failed to react for a moment as the magnitude of what they were given was completely outside of their expectations. “I’m sorry, what?” the snake asked.
Alex smiled. “I’m sorry I couldn’t give you more, but these should be
enough, right?”
“Are you joking?” the tortoise asked.
“Haha! They love it,” Bai Jingshen said.
“I had hoped so,” Alex said. “Oh, and I might as well give this to you
since you can make use of it. But I would like to ask you to swear an
oath to never tell anyone you have this.”
Both beasts were confused as to what they were going to receive
next. They swore the oath as asked and were finally handed a
talisman.
As they read through the talisman one after another, they were left with a feeling of pure speechlessness, as they could not believe a technique to increase the number of Creations existed at all. They knew not how they could ever repay Alex.
