Chapter 3362 Spars
Chapter 3362 Spars
Pearl had fought individuals who had formed their Spirit before, so the moment he saw the blue flower, he knew that was what it was. Since the Spirit’s attack was based on Intent alone, it landed on him the moment it was used.
Without wasting a single second, Pearl used the Spirit Reversal Technique.
Instantly, Qi surrounded his body, automatically fighting back against any Intent that landed on him.
He had no way of telling what the blue flower was supposed to do to his body, and he wouldn’t want to know either. Instantly, he moved, moving toward the dragon.
The dragon was surprised to see Pearl moving despite the usage of his Spirit. He wanted to show how stupid it was for someone not even in the Immortal Spirit realm to fight against him, since he could easily beat him if he didn’t hold back. And yet, it wasn’t working.
His Spirit’s effect was being blocked somehow. Did he possibly have one of those rare artifacts that could nullify the effects of someone’s Spirit and Creations?
Despite the surprise, Tidesweep showed no panic. He acted instantly, forming multiple circular discs of water that shot at Pearl as if wanting to cut him in half.
Pearl saw the incoming attack and reacted as soon as he could, using the second form of his spear forms to block the attack. As the spear spun before him, forming a barrier, it only blocked four of the discs that came at him. Four other discs flew around the side, trying to reach Pearl from the other side.
All this time, Pearl was still using the Spirit Reversal Technique, and while it was working quite well, it was depleting his Qi at a rather steep rate. If he didn’t act soon, he would be hit.
“Tsk!”
Pearl didn’t know if this would be considered cheating for this exercise, but he could only rely on his Space Dao now.
Instantly, the four discs that were coming for him changed trajectory entirely as they went around Pearl in a disorderly path, landing around the arena and the barriers.
Pearl then grabbed his spinning spear and stepped to the side, letting the other four discs of water fly past him.
Both actions happened at the same time, and both actions were effortless enough that most people didn’t even realize what had happened.
Tidesweep failed to notice anything at all, and yet all of his attacks had missed. And had the tiger just teleported? Wasn’t he supposed to be holding off on it?
Just as he thought that, the world seemed to shift around him. Nothing changed for his spiritual sense, but visibly, he could tell that the world around him had shrunk.
Before he could understand what was happening, Pearl struck.
“And that’s three,” Alex spoke the moment Pearl hit, piercing the side of the dragon’s stomach with his stab.
Pearl blinked. “My apologies,” he quickly said, bringing out a pill to give it to the dragon.
Tidesweep absentmindedly accepted the pill, still completely ignorant of how he had lost. Something had happened in the end, but he had no way of telling what.
‘Unpredictable,’ he thought in the end and slowly got back.
He bowed toward Pearl. “Thank you for this humbling lesson,” he said. “I have learned a lot.”
Pearl bowed as well. “Thank you for this opportunity.”
Alex looked at the dragon with a curious thought forming in his mind. For a race of beasts that were rulers of half of an Immortal realm, these beasts were rather humble. It was likely because he and Pearl were the family’s guests, but even so, it would be easy to find someone rude in any other place.
He was quite impressed by these dragons for now.
He next turned toward the crowd. “Well, I’ve now showed you both the unpredictability of a human cultivator and the way they use their weapons. That is mostly what separates a human fighter from a beast. To actually learn it, we can only apply it all practically, so if anyone else is willing to compete with me, you are free to join.”
Many of the dragons were willing to take this opportunity to fight against a human, so they all grew enthusiastic.
Pearl looked toward Alex, speaking through his bond. “Are you not going to show them your Sword Heart?” he asked.
Alex shrugged. “There’s no need. It’s enough that they learn about domains. I don’t have to tell them everything about me.”
After that, for the next few hours, Alex and Pearl fought any of the dragons that were willing to go up against them. It wasn’t a real fight, of course, more of a spar. But even then, Alex didn’t hold back as he
showed just how strong he was.
With the various techniques Alex had, he was limited when not using a sword. So the moment he had a sword in his hand, he suddenly became a lot more versatile, causing many of the dragons to trip over themselves as they tried to go up against him.
Pearl had a harder time than Alex, but given his physical strength, he too could not lose.
Together, the two won one spar after another against the plethora of
dragons that came their way. After Alex believed enough time had passed, he asked for everyone to stop.
“That is all, I’m afraid,” Alex said. “We just came here to look around
and ended up spending hours in spars. It was fun, but we must leave
now.”
“Maybe not so fast,” Ashenfog quickly spoke up.
Alex paused, turning around.
“I’m sorry, but none of these spars have truly been close to being a
proper lesson for our juniors,” the family head said. “If you don’t mind, will you fight one final opponent? Fangflood over there is in the Immortal Spirit 7th realm, and I think he would be a worthy opponent for you.”
Alex paused for a moment.
“One final match? That’s fine with me,” Alex said. “But he won’t do.”
Ashenfog frowned. “Is he too strong for you?”
“Too weak,” Alex said. “If you wish to make me go all out, you should
bring out a Divinity!”
