Chapter 3136 2 Years
Chapter 3136 2 Years
Pearl walked away from the sixth artifact he had found. It had taken him longer to reach this one than all the others he had been to, mostly because of his own choice to take his time as he walked through the massive Fighting Island.
That was why it had been over six months since the last one he had found.
That was over two years since he had arrived on this island. Two years was supposed to be a rather short time for an immortal beast like him, but the constant fights and moving around made the time seem much longer than it actually was.
And he still had eight more years to go. Hopefully, he could hide himself well during that time. So long as no White Tiger found him, he would be happy.
A week or two later, he had walked far enough away from the artifact that he could finally relax a little. No beast would wait in ambush this far away, and even if they did, it would be a coincidence at best. Unlike near the artifact, where it was a near guarantee.
No one came out in ambush, so Pearl decided that the area might be a good spot to cultivate. He found an unremarkable location nearby, and after searching around the location, he concluded that the place was safe to be at.
Pearl set up the formation to hide him and watched as the barrier took effect. There were beasts out there walking around with artifacts meant to locate such barriers in the surroundings, but Pearl’s intention was really only to hide his appearance, not his location.
Inside the formation, he changed to his White Tiger form, slowly growing in size as he became a nearly four-meter-tall tiger, the biggest he could become.
Pulling out the flask, he began filling it with blood. By now, he had to
have collected at least a hundred liters of blood as per Alex’s instruction. But still, he hadn’t come to take it from him.
He wondered why.
Pearl trusted Alex to make good decisions, so he wasn’t worried. After adding nearly ten more liters into the flask, he placed it back into his Soul Space. Keeping that artifact inside his Soul Space made him feel a little ‘stuffed, mostly because the artifact itself was a spatial artifact, and placing a spatial artifact inside one’s Soul Space tended to take away from the available space.
A flask that could contain one million liters of liquid would take away the same volume of space from his Soul Space. That came out to be around 1,000 cubic meters of volume, which for Pearl was a small but not insignificant fraction of his total space.
It would’ve been even worse if it were for other beasts. Whisker had just twenty meters of Soul Space, so Pearl couldn’t complain about his.
He had more Soul Space than most other immortals he had met, and it grew at a steady rate with his cultivation base, so it was quite high now. His Soul Space had started with a diameter of around 250 meters, and after many breakthroughs, it was now close to 300.
He really couldn’t complain.
Once Pearl put away his blood, he transformed back into his human form and decided to spend some time cultivating.
Pearl ate a pill to help regenerate his blood first, and after waiting a few minutes for that pill’s effect to vanish, he took the cultivation pill. As soon as the effects of the cultivation pill started affecting his body, he closed his eyes and cultivated.
No matter what cultivation base he reached, Pearl never had to be concerned about what technique he was going to use to cultivate. His bloodline memories consisted of a technique that could be used at any cultivation realm. As Pearl cultivated, his body glowed a dull
golden color as the Qi affected his body as much as it did everything else, improving him at a steady rate.
Pearl cultivated for nearly three weeks before he finally stopped, his body feeling rejuvenated by the end of it. Since he was done, Pearl thought of leaving, but on second thought, he remained where he
was.
Since he had already cultivated, there was no point in wasting this opportunity to improve his Origin as well.
After deciding that, he closed his eyes and let the Qi flow out of his dantian and into his head, where it interacted with his Blood Essence, turning into an aura that reflected the White Tiger’s Blood Essence. It then flowed into his Origin, slowly improving it.
This method of improving his Origin was a lot slower than if Pearl just ripped his Blood Essence out of his body and absorbed its aura directly. However, as Blood Essence was the bridge between body and soul, using it directly would leave Pearl weakened in the aftermath, and in a place like this, that was the last thing he wanted.
Only when he was safe could he do such a thing, and he wouldn’t be safe for a long time.
Pearl absorbed his Origin for the next week, by the end of which it had increased by a pitiful amount. It was clear that one would have to go at it for years before their Origins were filled with the required amount of aura.
And according to Bai Jingshen, this speed was rather high. Most others took decades to absorb the required aura.
Still, there were three more Origins to fill, and that was going to take the same, if not more, time. Pearl would have to start absorbing his grandpa’s Creation and then find a secure location to absorb the aura from the Guardian Tiger’s arm.
And then… he would have to think of what his last Creation was going to be. Probably something to do with Space, but he wanted to keep
his ideas open until after their visit to the Sun’s Talon realm. Considering the Sun God himself wanted Alex to visit that realm, he would hopefully find treasures there that he could use too.
